We were discussing if your PSU wasn't the issue, it would likely fall on MoBo and then you could try to bake it, but order a replacement anyway. Baking can work on some MoBos and GPUs, but not always and it's always a temporary fix.
A friend of mine baked his son's NVidia GPU 3x and it worked, but by the 4th it was dead. Luckily, he'd just replaced his, so his son got his old one.
Xmas season was next, so the wife, daughter, and son all got new stuff in a couple weeks.
Anyway, it was nice talking to everyone. Best of luck. I just ordered stuff for my Harley, one of many constant necessities. LOL TTYL
Guys this is RAM right?
yes
Oh thanks
Are there any ways to change the side of inside part??
hm?
You might be able to find cases with right side panels instead of left
Need a little help with an issue with my motherboard. This has been happening for a little while. System operates and turns on just fine but every now and then, it won't turn on. In order for me to turn it on, I have to reset the CMOS with the reset button on the back of the I/O. Motherboard: x370 M7 Gaming AC. Processor: Ryzen 7 2700X (no overclock). Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 16 GB @ 3200 MHz
Well if it’s all dependent on that cmos I’d say maybe a defective or dying cmos. Did it work fine for a while and then start doing this or has it started since you first turned it on?
It worked fine for a while, then started doing this. I built the system like a year ago
I usually turn the PSU off when I'm not home or asleep either. I didn't think doing that would affect the CMOS though
It really shouldn’t
even with no power to the board, that battery should last for years
It’s the pc equivalent of a watch battery
So my CMOS is defective then? Not an issue with the board itself, since it POSTs?
Literally
It could be an issue with the board. I’m running an x470 pro and it posts fine but it won’t boot with more than 2 sticks of ram so I know that posting isn’t always reliable
But since it’s dependent on resetting the cmos I think it’s more than likely the cmos
Hm. Well, I'll buy a new battery later then. Hopefully that fixes the issue. If it doesn't, then at least we know it's not the battery and it's the board
and you may be able to talk to the manufacturer about an RMA
Yeah it’s better to try that instead of buying a whole new board first
Well doesn’t an RMA work within 90 days only?
what brand of board is it?
MSI
it is a year
but with an issue like that, they may be willing to make an exception
a CMOS really shouldn't corrupt itself
then i'd try the batter, you can get them at walmart or whatever
and then call MSI if it doesn't work
or submit a ticket
I do have a question about your specs
You say your cpu isn’t OCed. Are any other parts OCed or have they been?
I’ve heard of some OCed parts damaging parts of the board they don’t even interact with
it can happen
The board supports 3200 MHz though. And I'm using an XMP profile
Never read anyone having issues with clocking the memory on this board
it's generally just a socketed chip
Yeah
I thought it was a tab also lol
oh yeah, i meant the actual CMOS chip itself
Ah
Try reseating and maybe blowing the slot out with compressed air
The last time I changed anything was when the 20 series GPUs came out
Alright I'll try that later on. I'll come back and let you guys know
what's your motherboard model, i'll see if i can find a schematic
x470 Gaming M7 AC
470 or 370
x470, was a typo the first time sorry
It’s all good just making sure
I'm swapping the board out later when the x570 chipset comes out. The concern is mainly because I'm putting the board into another case, and I don't want who I'm building the system for to have the same issue
it's a shame motherboards don't have jumpers anymore
yeah i can't find a schematic, it's almost like they don't want that to be known
i'd try the battery first
Alright I will. I'll find my manual and post the schematic myself if anything
Guys does this one hav gud cpu? https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16883289029?Item=N82E16883289029
Eh
If it was a 2nd gen, I would say it was good
Ok thanks
But yeah, for the price, it's not bad
If you run 50 tabs of chrome and like 10 other applications then a graphics intensive game like me I’d say not good
But for the price yeah it’s not bad
I order corsair ram too bc thats ram is too low for me =/
yeah, i'd definitely slap another 8GB in there
Companies shouldn’t be allowed to sell pc’s with 8gb lol
not anymore
How long it usually take to ship?
Should say somewhere at checkout
SevenHills in las vegas
I’ve only bought one thing from newegg so I wouldn’t know
So thats would be 1-2 days right?
Depends who they ship with
Oh xD
USPS has always been the fastest for me
Epic gamer times
anyone down for some draft and/or ranked duo's on league of legends?
dm if interested
I’m using the CAM software and haven’t had a problem until now.
Can anyone help on why it’s sending me notifications that I’m exceeding high temps but yet when I look at the max temp it’s well below what the notifications are saying?
i dont use those softwares because they always eventually start misrepresenting the information
i just rely on how hot my case is lol
Guys whats the differents?
Oh i see
nice quintuplet photo
Yeah 3200MHz is faster
I mean the second pic
yeah its 3000mhz
They re both 3000mhz
The second corsair is 3000
yes
Yeah and the corsair in the first one is 3200
Ik
The other ram in the first pic is by G.Skill
So its just the brand?
Basically
Do u think 16gb ram is enough for me?
16GB is enough for 99% of people in here
You only need 32 and above if you're doing huge renders and computational work
yes
its enough for gaming idk about obs
whenever i recorded or streamed i used shadowplay
i mean what needs to be upgraded
Do you have a good headset
i should get a new headset. i use a kraken right now
The hyperx cloud headsets are super nice
Alright let me search for it
i had the one shroud uses but i broke it 💔
good job
yeah i didnt mean to
the cord got stuck on my chair and when i got up if flung the headset onto the floor
this is why i dont use complicated gaming chairs lol an office chair is good enough. most office chairs have way better support than gaming chairs anyway
I love logitech but their headset is too expensive ;-;
idk some walmart one
there is like a small gap between the arm and the back rest piece
and it got stuck on the gap
Oh i have an office chair too lmao
thats why i use a chair that has enclosed arm rests so that it cant get under them and get stuck
thats a nice chair
Thank its 70$ ;-;
IKEA does ship yeah
oh man nice
Thats one is very nice and very cheap
For someone who sitting all day in computer
That one also have black color
Sennheiser headsets ftw
Hola
hmmmm idk the bot might of been offline
Do you guys know how long it takes in order to be able to converse in teh general chat??
I think it's a 10min wait time for first joins.
but it's known to glitch out sometimes 😛
Oh ok, I was just confused because it didnt say anything about it either only that its handed out by admins
Either way thanks
no problem
can any body rate my specs
Sure @noble pagoda
Does NZXT still sell this? Mine has a shortage somewhere and wont show RPM
might want to reach out to NZXT on twitter
their social media manager is good about returning tweets.
I had an old panel that warped, got up with them and they sent me one free of charge.
@tender swift that’s the final build for now
o nice
now that's purdy
true that
i was too lazy to do cable management when i put it together so i just shoved all my cables in a corner lol
Idk those cases are just really nice though im not a fan of the side windows
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811553031 Thats my case its pretty reliable but I havent finished building it yet
So i dont have any pictures yet
@tender swift if i OC my CPU would it be a good idea to do the same to the memory and GPU at the same time or does it matter?
i haven't overclocked anythign before so i got nothing to go off of
you would want to OC your memory at the same time as your CPU
but you wouldn't do the GPU at the same time, since you do the CPU and memory in the UEFI
@tender swift you know of any videos to reference that explains it well
as in how to know what a good balance without ruining them are
Thanks to Intel for sponsoring this video! Check out the Intel® Core™ X-Series here: http://geni.us/EGXzAh Discuss on the forum: https://linustechtips.com/ma...
unless you have ryzen
i can't remember, there are so many builds in here
no point
😐
I'm sorry.
@tender swift i have a ryzen build but its ok
okay hold on

Anyone find any good deals?
i'm trying to load the store page lmao
If your into Racing Titles Assetto Corsa is like 5 bucks and Project Cars 2 is about fifteen.
A lot of horror games also are cheap
@drifting sandal
Thanks i have been looking at more vr titles but ill keep my eye out
i would recommend assetto corsa purely for the amount of mods you can install
Video I made for the game Project Visitor. An addicting massive multiplayer game. Visit www.projectvisitor.com
Awesome old Sega game still up and running at www.projectvisitor.com
So I have read up on a couple things about FreeSync but when should I use it, always?
Are there certain situations that you shouldn’t utilize it?
not really, it's something you can use all the time
@tender swift doesn’t it reduce you’re FPS? And if so will You’ll be able to tell a difference in will it be better or not?
it's a more smooth experience
freesync doesn't really reduce your FPS, it might not work on desktop but it'll help in games for.. that yes
What is so special about AMD's Freesync? Should you care if your hardware is Freesync compatible? Sponsor message: Check out this limited time drop on Massdr...
it could add a bit of lag but you won't notice it
AMD has a freesync demo to check whether it's working properly or not
look for the windmill demo
OK, I only ask because my new monitor is coming in today and it has 144hz-1ms response and had FreeSync capability and I have an AMD PC build so I was wondering if I’m better off just using that all the time or only at certain times.
i would just leave it on
yeah
keep in mind that you might have to enable freesync from both the monitor OSD and the AMD suite
Suite?
Oh ok. So VSync is basically just downgraded version of FreeSync then
vsync is completely software level to prevent jaggies, it's been there for a long time. freesync and g-sync are monitor based adaptations of it, on some hardware level
up to you
I have 3200mhz ram but it’s only using about 1300 give or take
it's double data rate, you're at 2000's
considering you didn't set it to 3200, probably
Someone I know told me it was recommended so I wasn’t sure
you can OC RAM if you want to but first off i'd learn the basics if you're confused
Ya I’m still new to pc building. The monitor was the last thing I needed to complete everything so the next thing I would like to do is OC the gpu and cpu.
But from what I hear of the GPU is a lot safer in the easier to OC
yeah i'd agree
1 more question. What’s the difference between the hdmi port and the DisplayPort on the gpu?
from what i know, HDMI compresses more, displayport is the better interface for the most part
Can you just plug in a normal hdmi cable for it?
Display connectors like HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, and DVI can be confusing for even seasoned techies! What are the differences? Which one should I use? Vote fo...
i'd just buy a displayport cable if you don't have one, especially given that you'll be doing over 100hz
or if your GPU and monitor support hdmi 1.4 or 2.0, then you'll be fine with one of those too
preferably 2.0
I just looked and my gpu didn’t say which hdmi it is but my monitor supports 1.4 hdmi and 1.2 DisplayPort
which GPU do you have again?
@tender swift I have a rx 570
then yeah you should be good with either HDMI or DisplayPort
@tender swift i just set up my monitor and it actually came with a displayport cable. so poggers
sup dudes I'm the newest ERS member
What is ERS?
lol
In the next nvidia driver update can they make it incompatible with fortnite
lmao
poor soul
ikr
For anyone that plays Destiny 2, I was playing the Menagerie, and during a part during a final fight, I was getting fps as low as 45fps with a r7 1700x and 1070ti. is this normal or is there something wrong with my system? (I put the majority of my settings around medium
^dm if you know anything please
not familiar with that fight but knowing destiny 2 its usually shadows or particles that cause you to lag
what is the final part like
I played it once but the 5 other people in my lobby were forced to capture different plates until the boss (which was a big hydra) came and was free to hit. The fight takes place somewhere in the leviathan. Usually we were bombarded with loads of enemies similar to the blind well and whenever my FPS would drop it would be in the middle of where these enemies were.
I’m going on a bit of a tangent but my FPS drops to 60 in trostland and can get into the low 50s without having a mass of enemies.
I’m not currently home right now to give the my exact settings
Idk why people complain about FPS drops to 60. That’s smooth and the standard max FPS on most monitors (at least the ones that are sold here)
not smooth
unless you've never been on a higher hz we cant blame you
but whoever has actually better monitors, 60 is choppy
smooth if you havent had higher refresh rate
is what i said
so yes, it's smooth if you've only been on 60hz
not disagreeing with you
I play on 144/165 depending on the game
But I honestly wouldn’t mind 60 if I had to drop it to that
cool
Only in certain games can you really tell the difference
In gta i can barely tell the difference between 45 FPS and 60
got it
Hi I currently play on Ps4 Console but want to buy a PC any suggestions?
oh man, i got knocked down to rank 3
I got this message and it's like "do this to see your rank" I freaked out so I did it
What does this even do
it's just based on how much you type
I just finished superhot so Im sorry i have to do this
SUPERHOT IS THE MOST INNOVATIVE SHOOTER I'VE PLAYED IN YEARS!
Use this discount and join me now : http://superhotgame.com/discount/#C8D082DEECD4
yeah superhot's great
super.. hot.. super.. hot
eh
its innovatice
innovative*
but i found it super boring
and yes i played it in vr
yep, repetitive. and the announcer says that word over and over again which is irritating
@gaunt falcon the first question any techie should ask is what will it be used for. In this case, what kind of games will you most likely be playing with it
COD BO4
That it?
I wouldn’t start playing cod on pc lol
More than half of their titles you can’t find a match without an aimbot user or some kind of cheater
a pc makeover would be nice still rocking an i3 3240 with 6gb ddr3 ram and h61m board with an rx570 8gb card and a 500gb normal hdd
How do you survive on only 500gb
WHEN YOUR GRAPHICS CARD HAS MORE RAM THAN YOUR SYSTEM DOES
^
@quick ibex Its tough
Built my first PC, any good games I should try on steam, battlenet, origin?
I use to play a ton of call of duty when I had console but that was 5+ years ago. Been only playing league of legends and Rocket league
steam sale is going on now
yeah
origin has apex legends
rust is a decent game, siege is good, apex is free but dead
IT'S NOT DEAD
there's lots more, just look at steam and figure out which games you'd buy

@everyone i need a MC buddy, I'm so alone 😦
should i delete this message?
no
its gaming
Got realms?
No I'm poor
OOF
foO
I was gonna offer
Chilli how would I be an mc buddy if ya don't have realms?
idk
What kind of MC buddy?? 😃
to play with :3
I usually host modded Minecraft servers.
Ouu I love me some modded Minecraft.
Currently running Madpack3.
I find vanilla gets a little boring after a while.
Especially when you have friends that bring you miles ahead.
what means vanilla in MC? @desert hazel
Like no mods.
oh ok :3
Everything is stock, kind of way
So modded Minecraft is just that, with kids, and vanilla is without mods.
there is some sort of freebie Minecraft Realms?
Well, it’s not really Minecraft realms. Realms is basically Minecraft servers hosted by Microsoft themselves.
At least to my understanding.
Who wants to play some factions?
who wants to carry me in apex legends
I got you bb.
Is this a good price, for what it is I’m new to PCs. And I’m not building my pc
have it built by somebody who knows what he / she is doing. that PC is not worth it
Ok thanks
I don’t know anybody who can build PCs
you could take the parts to a store and do it that way
or buy them from somewhere and have the people assembly it for you
You could watch some YouTube and DIY it yourself
Nope can’t build a crap, I’m a console player and can’t build PCs
building pc's is easy as long as you dont get ESD in there
Is this a good price for the specs
no
it has somewhat garbo specs
doesnt even have an hdd
you only have 500gb space on an ssd which is used to speed up loading times and such
i'd say that but with an hdd instead of an ssd
Ok that’s the a good build for Minecraft, rust?
for minecraft?!
yea
you can run minecraft on nearly anything
Oh
lol
for rust i'd say anything with more than 16gb and at least a 1050
rust eats your ram with all the assets and it has to keep all the players' bodies on the server and keep track of their inventories
Do you think that I can buy the parts then go to a near pc store and they can build it?
Or no
you should be able to build it yourself
even though you say you're a console gamer
this pc i'm on right now is the first one i've built myself and the only problem i had was the manufacturer's fault on one of the parts
everything should come with an instruction guide
Time to buy more rust Ram. Feeling a 64 GB upgrade anyway.
Who wants to play with me minecraft?
Is this a good price for what it is?
No
the only thing lacking in that build is the 8GB of RAM

looking for a build for $1.5k - $2k
look no further.
just gaming or what?
newegg has you covered.
just gaming
I can build but im super lazy
i think so
do you lean towards blue or red
amd/intel.

flash deals are the best.
but yeah, that one for $1400 is a great deal tbh
you know the computers good when they include 144+ fps in the promotional images
i mean they're not wrong
i dont like it either
false advertisement
it's vague af too
its dependent on the game too
like what games can it hit 144hz in?
hehe
tbh roblox can look great id the devs include some custom lighting engine
what do u wanna upgrade it too
rip
rip in peace
you gonna stay nvidia or switch to amd
the 570's a great deal

ah
i really wanna build a pc but i dont wanna downgrade and to upgrade is expensive
you'd be hard pressed to actually downgrade
^
you can get a 580 8GB for $180 these days
idk if i really wanna switch to an amd card tho
for budget cards you cant beat amd tho
people have really gotta get over that bias
the 580 and 570 are great
AMD cards do VR just fine though
look at even the 570 https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-AMD-RX-570/3649vs3924
hm well ill think about it
and thats not the mobile 1050 ti
i was looking for something comparable to the rtx 2060 or a gtx 1070
my dad has a 1070 and its amazing
yeah amd doesnt have good cards there, only the vegas
eh, let's just wait till the 5000 series comes out
those are gonna be expensive tho right
yeah
so is the 2070
yeah
and the 1070
but 2070 has ray tracing
heh.
the 1660 ti is pretty close to the 1070 tho, and only is 280
ray tracing cuts your performance by half
and not a lot of games have rtx on
i wouldnt use ray tracing but its there in case i ever wanna use it
you don't even own the 3 games that support it
wait hecc
lol
there
i know
let it dynamically set
but its 1080p so im thinking about cranking everything up
and its only 60hz refresh rate :l
then crank it
yea
Just don't use recommendations from GFE 😆
on ultra it hits 122fps, i should be good all maxed https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2019/06/13/forza-horizon-4-graphics-performance-how-to-get-the-best-settings-on-pc/6/
yeah, its optimizations are pretty bad
best gpu for >60fps 1440p?
anyways heres my ideal computer specs:
the best one for that is the 2070
thats what i was thinking
I'd go used 1080 tbh
but if i do i would upgrade my cpu
You can grab those for $300 or less
Nice
yeah it was a great deal, only 1 other bid and i got it at the end of the auction
now i just need to wait 4 days for the case :l
8 core processor at anything higher than 3ghz
16gb cas 16 3200mhz rgb ram
gtx 1070 equivalent or better
1tb m.2 nvme ssd
dual 2tb hard drives running in raid 1
case with rgb fans
I remember before the 1660 cards came out you could grab a RX 580 8GB for $125 or less now it's a different story altogether
o thats pretty good @halcyon fossil
why 8 core tho?
i would just go for ryzen 3000 if u build it
o ic
i have a 4 core processor rn and that speed of an 8 core processor with 16 threads
amazing
i would be completely fine with a 4 or 6 core machine but i want to upgrade
also i dont get new computers that often (like most people) so id like the best of the best without going crazy
the 2600 or 3600 would be more than enough for what you do
i know it would
like i said lol without going crazy
ryzen 9 is a bit on the crazy side
im just waiting for the 3700x or the 3800x to he added to pcpartpicker
with prices and everything
same with the boards
i wanna price it all out
"The Ryzen 7 3700X will kick things off at $329, while the Ryzen 7 3800X will be on the shelves for $399. If you want real multitasking performance, however, the Ryzen 9 3950X will set you back $749. But that’s rather cheap by Intel’s standards."
found that on a site
also i wanna see if the 3700x is that much worse than the 3800x
If you live near a microcenter you can start getting a build together and come 7/7 add your CPU & MB
yeah
I broke it 👌
yikes.
Moment of silence
quick question: i'm playing fivem and i'm getting around 38-43 fps but i have task manager open on my second monitor and nothing is being used over 50% so what could be causing frame drops?
thermals
everything but my ram is at 45-50C
huh
well i assume you mean overheating?
well i mean a game wont use 100% of ur gpu
if ur game is using 100% of your gpu, you're cpu bottlenecked.
yeah but nothing is over 50% so i'm really confused lol
Has anyone ever had an issue with corsair products
I mean the RGB hub not working, and only lighting fans in a specific order
well of course someones bound to have an issue with a corsair product
as with any produvt
product*
but corsairs a great brand
youre gonna be fine
The bottom 3 ports wont light any fan and its under a year old
@quick ibex check ur xmp profiles
never heard of them tbh
yep never heard of them
Is this a good build for what it’s worth?
the pic is loading hold on
sup
Oh what company do you recommend? For pre built PCs with windows already installed?
But they cost soooo much.
fair
Any thing under $900
you thinkin about building it yourself?
Do you think I could buy the parts and send them to my local PC store and they can build it?
youd have to ask your local pc store
obviously youd have to pay for them to build it
let me go find a good computer for u brb
Okie thx
AMD and $800 or $900
easy enough, give me a git. need a case or no?
i cant find a shareable link for the life of me but here
hold on the image is sending
wait actually hold on
Okie
ABS Mage E - Ryzen 5 2600 - GeForce GTX 1660 Ti - 16GB DDR4 - 512GB SSD - Gaming Desktop PC
oof
there u go
its a bit overbudget but i mean
its a good compyter
Thanks I can find a couple more bucks.
yea, bit., I was multi-taskign and had rl thing goin on lol
you can do better yourself tho
he wants a pre built

building is not that hard, I highly recommend it. there are a lot of tech you-tubers who posted videos on how to build a pc.
infact, you can buy one with the exact same specs for 41.58 USD lower

no it is NOT worth it
my pc was 750 and it had the 2600x and the same gpu
only thing that you're probably paying extra for is the warranty and because it's prebuilt
you can get an rtx 2060 with 900 bucks
Oh I saw it because I’m trying to get my first ever gaming pc
Like I will buy one and built it but I need like a step by step help and help install windows
Like my main problem I think I will have is power supply and the graphics card
Everything else look easy
no
the graphics card is the easiest
everything else takes a bit more but is simple
I meant screwing in the motherboard
trust me its easy peasy as long as you have a screwdriver and a table that isnt made of metal
screwing the mobo in is easy too
screw in the standoffs where your motherboard has holes, and the hold your motherboard up to the standoffs and use the screws to screw it in
the power supply is easy too
just put it inside the case, and screw it in on the back
from there, figure out what cables you need, and route them through the back and put them where they need to go
theres tons of videos on how to do it, bitwit has a really good step by step one
yeah i like bitwits tutorial
@solid mirage how dare you play that cursed game SHAME SHAME ON YOU

i would honestly wait if you can. if it's not absolutely necessary, i'd hold out for a ryzen 3000
not able to save up any more than that?
It’s a good solid build
Nope I’m 14, with a job of mowing yards
Here’s some advice. Build the computer don’t spend money on anything else
pretty much that
Any other recommendations or switch outs
Because this is final right here
a whole 2 years worth of Savin up
What’s your max budget?
Well $850
Okay
Maybe 900 but that’s pushing it
so that leaves $100 for a keyboard, mouse, and monitor
Let’s go with 850 tho
it's too bad black friday isn't closer. you'd likely be able to snag some really good deals
I’ll put together a parts list and see how you like it
This is a bruh, moment, but when is Black Friday
the friday after thanksgiving
Ooof that’s too far away
yep
The thing is I’ve been looking around the market for 3-2 months now
And I think this is my setup.
i'd still suggest maybe holding out until the ryzen 3000's launch. you might be able to snag one of them, or maybe even get a better deal on the current line of cpu's because of a price drop
they're being launched in 6 days
I’m guessing 275+
well, prices aren't set in stone, yet, there's only speculation
I’m still working on it
@full wing https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kH3N3b
Thxs
Yep
that's not really a bad build for a limited budget. honestly, though, i'd look into getting a SSD drive. only way to do that would probably be dropping down the capacity of the HDD, maybe go with a 1TB, and maybe cutting down to 8g ram. i'm using 8g right now and it's been fine for me
ahhh, i've heard of that game, never played it, though
The build has 16GB and an SSD for booting with a 1TB for games
Yea I saw thxs
i've seen a couple videos on it, but doesn't look like my sort of thing. seems like there's a decent following for it
Expired your build looks godly so imma take your word on it.
And what will I do if I can’t build it
never got into minecraft either. i got sucked into mmo's about 17 years ago with EQ
Do you think you guys could maybe could walk me threw the build m, as in the community of new egg discord
Not just you guys
Yes
Like I know how to put the cpu, and the stock cooler, and ram but that’s really it (rip)
there's lots of videos out there telling you how to build a pc. it may seem daunting and complicated, but really, it isn't. i've been building them over 20 years now, and one thing that's happened over the years is that it's gotten a lot easier to do
well, my first computer had a cyrix processor in it. that company isn't even around anymore. i tried to throw a video card in it, but it wouldn't work, come to find out, the processor itself didn't play well with other hardware as well as intel and amd did. so, i taught myself how to build computers, reading everything i could. my first build was an intel celeron 300A with an a-bit bh6 motherboard, 96 megs of ram, diamond viper 330 video card, a soundblaster 32 sound card, and a western digital 1.2g hard drive
Do you thinks this is a good space to put the pc?
as long as you're not blocking intake and exhaust, you're good to put it wherever
Thxs for the help, @clear forge and @frank kernel much appreciation, and helping me to start pc gaming!
you're welcome. hope you enjoy it
does anyone know how i use a ps4 controller on pc and not lose audio through my headphones that are plugged into the pc?
i would connect the controller through Bluetooth but my pc says i don't have any Bluetooth capabilities
get a cheap usb BT dongle
any one will work?
yeah
@sand ridge I could also prefer using SCPToolKit
You may have to insstall some programs in order for it to work.
But once you install the kit it'll automatically do it for you.
Try looking up some tutorials on how to set everything up.
It works perfectly fine!
It doesn't work wirelessly though.
@reef dagger ok i wasnt sure because i watched a video on how to set the things up but when i try to plug in the controller it works fine and all but the only issue i have is i cant hear anyone trying to talk to me through the headset
oh
and when you plugged in the controller, did you switch your audio output back to your headset in windows?
because a lot of times, windows will auto-witch to a newly plugged in audio input or output
Click the small speaker icon next to the clock on your Windows taskbar.
Select the small up arrow to the right of your current audio output device.
Select your output of choice from the list that appears.
Is this a good place to see if anyone wants to trade items on tf2?
.
is it not >.<
@tender swift ya I made sure I changed that but it didn’t fix anything. I think I’ll just have to get an adapter
can anyone direct me and building a pc under 750 ?
Same
max 749 lol
lamo
under 750
so most people would assume then 700
if you got a ryzen 5 1600, you could prob still get a gtx 1660
Go for the Ryzen 1600 get the 1660 with 16GB RAM not Vram and you should be set
yeah
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LFkyJ8 (is this a good build for a beginner)
nah dont
Why?
also i wouldnt recommend it to everyone who just wants an easy build because everyone has different needs
some people might not need that good of a gpu
ur gonna want an nvme m.2 ssd
sata bottlenecks the capability of ssds
also 128gb wont cut it for windows updates
So what do you recommend under 30 bucks
hold on
it's $2 over
but it's much faster
and it's double the capacity of the one you had listed
the SATA SSD you listed had a maximum sequential write of 500MB/s
this one is 1,700MB/s
yeah thats leagues better
ANYONE DOWN FOR cs
@full wing the build is 800 in usd right?
are you getting that monitor?
Yes
When should I worry about doing water cooking? I like the fans but idk when I should switch.
I have 3 fans in the case atm plus 1 on the cpu cooler
Going to get a 4th fan soon
100 c. Or 212 F
Water cooling on the other hand..... 😂😂
Keep an eye on your temps... if your running warm, adding another fan can make all the difference.... depending on how hot and if you OC... then a water cooler can make a big change
45-50c should be standard operating temp for CPU. 60 peak and not for long time
If your running 45-50 under a load then your fine... if you add another fan and can drop it by 2-3+ then improves CPU life by a margin.
depends on how he has those fans setup aswell.
Yep.
and I'd say 75c for peak.
I just have 1 fan for intake in the front, 1 exhaust and one on top. I plan on getting another fan in the front for intake to help bring in cooler air. I usual run about 45-55c under load on high setting 1080p
I haven’t over clocked anything yet though.
The highest the cpu has gotten is 60c for a short time because I was doing a lot of thing on top of gaming at the same time
I kinda figured I wouldn’t need to go water cooling until maybe after I upgrade to the new Ryzen 3000 series and rtx 2060
Then adding the extra front fan or an exhaust in the back then really didn’t need liquid.. but it’s always a nice addition. Lol.
Ya I figured I’d be fine for awhile. But I was just curious lol
The only reason why I’m upgrading to the rtx 2060 and a new Ryzen cpu is to prepare for cyberpunk 2077 lol
AMD always runs hot... anything to help it along. Lol
No they dont.
I’ve heard quite the opposite about AMD. I’ve heard in a lot of cases your better off picking AMD over intel unless your sole purpose of having a pc is Strictly gaming
I’m just waiting for benchmarks to come out for the new Ryzen chips
Hey all looking into to try and make a budget build to get into pc gaming and am considering trying to find a good deal on a stock desktop and upgrade the graphics card up to a playable level. Does anyone have any experience with attempting this? Any particular models you know can be found relatively cheap and are easily upgradeable? Any info helps thanks in advance everybody!
how cheap you talking @fossil steppe
I mean as possible while still being able to play games like destiny at 1080p at over 60fps
yeah it's kind of hard with out that in mind.
"budget build"
so you want us to make a 300 or a 700 pc build
budget can mean different things
HA HA, my budget was 500 spent 576.28
ok?
for what i need , totally happy
I have some guy locally offering a pc with these specs (I7 3770k
16 GB Ram
RX 580 8gb
Corsair liquid cooling) for $400 does that sound like a good deal?
As far as budget I currently don’t want to spend more than $400 but would like some room to upgrade later on if possible
then yeah thats a good price
rx 580 is a great card
@tender swift what do u think
how is a 560
I’m trying to see if the motherboard it’s using offers the ability to upgrade to a newer processor down the line
The thing that confuses me the most is the compatibility of all the different components
yeah that processor is just holding the machine back a bit
That’s kind of why I was trying to pick up a stock office style desktop with a good processor and some ram and upgrade the gpu if poIBLE
