Yea because I'm trying to upgrade my i3 8100
It wouldn't be powerful for gaming. But since you have an Intel motherboard you should just get an 8th gen i7 so you'd have something powerful for gaming
i3's and i5's are usually fine for gaming if you can get a high clock, as most games don't utilize the extra cores of an i7
If you look at specs. The i3 and i5 have less bandwidth than the i7
Is most cases
single core performance is 27% better
Lol
looking for some help on RAM... im looking at getting this board and need to know what RAM will work on the board and do i need to get 2 sticks or just 1... MSI Z370-A PRO INTEL 8TH GEN ATX DDR4 64GB 2PCIEX16 CFX M.2 DSUB DVI DP USB3.1
2 sticks
as long as your motherboard supports ddr4 ram, you can put any kind of ddr4 ram now matter the speed or how many gigs of ram
just get any ram that is ddr4, get 2 sticks and you'll be fine
need help is the 2070 worth upgrading from a 1060 6gb oc?
its a hugeeeee performance jump imo

hello
I'm very new to this process of building my own pc. I'm looking for something simple. This pc will be for just browsing the web and typing word docs.
Go fourth my <@&525119001324683264> s... Ride like the wind for jasonlee
You looking to have it built for you or just looking for a solid build list?
I can help with either
@verbal coral We need total cost your looking to spend and what type of PC you want. Prebuilt could also be a laptop, but custom is set to desktop only.
build an insane pc that can run servers, just for small software stuff
lol

Well be realistic are you going to be actual getting that build in irl if not then it's pointless for them to build a build for somebody that isnt going to actual use it @dusk cape
what?
the comment was a joke suggestion to jasonlee
Bruv minecraft is og
why would i build a computer to run servers and only use it for like browsing the web?
I still play that what server is fav Reaper?
It's just a standard server
Yo reaper 1 actual question
Would the be quiet dark rock 4 be able to fit on an fx 8350 (GPU duh)?
fat fingers dude sorry I click g instead
It should I got a mid nzxt case so that shouldn't be an issue
Socket not quite sure what you mean?
Am3 or Am3+
Am3+
Well cool now I just have to measure to see if it fits in with everything else, but I dont think it is really a problem
Thanks btw for answering my question
Np
@lyric marsh no its ourcraft servers
?
I was wondering if somebody can help make me a spec list for a computer that can run destiny 2 and is the cheapest that you can make for a mid tier and can you possible dm me that list please, I was wanting to upgrade from the pc that I got which is I think a mid tier gaming pc that can run most games ok like low to midish for graphics
What price range @lament moat
@lament moat $600 plus your choice of case will build you a decent rig that will run almost anything at 2k 100fps and is completely upgradable as your budget increases through time. You will also have to spring for any type of keyboard, mouse, headset, mic, and monitor that you want if you don't already have something
Asus prime B450M; MB
Ryzen 2600; CPU, EVGA B# 550w; PSU
16GB Corsair LPX 3000Mhz; RAM
PowerCooler RX580; GPU
Adata 480gb SSD
so for and amd gpu whats the best for say between $100 - $200
don't think i'd be using a RX 590 for a new build. nothing against AMD, it's what i'm using on my current system, but for building a new machine i don't think i'd go lower in performance than a GTX 1660ti. unless you plan on building another computer in the next year or so.
I agree with @versed ice. The AMD cards are great for budget builds, but current cards are just not up to performance levels. The new Navi cards later this year should be something to get though if you are not building right now. Navi is supposed to be released in Q3 2019
yo just a question does anyone have an old d2 account for pc that they are willing to sell me. my account got banned for using a macro and i dont want to start from ground zero : (
I have an nvidia geforce 1030 and not a lot of moonay so what card should i get to upgrade from that?
what would your budget be? @Soggy Chicken#5975
they left lol.
@Soggy Chicken#5975 GTX 1660ti should be a nice bump up for a middle of the road budget
@Soggy Chicken#5975 should be close to twice the performance you are getting from the 1030 in games.
he left.
I am new to the pc building scene and am looking for a 1080p 75fps gaming pc with a monitor for about $650-700
@hard hound what you looking to play game wise
And you want the monitor to be included in the price?
Yes @halcyon forge
It’ll be hard to find a pc that can output 75fps on most games and find a 75hz monitor for $650
I was thinking Ryzen 3 2200g with rx 570
you could always get a 60 Hz monitor and overclock it
27" is the sweet spot
I dont like buying electronics second hand but try ebay. or Newegg if they have something refurbished
What are good free games on pc
oh shit
thanks for indirectly reminding me
i gotta install cs
cs, apex is meh, maybe a bit of osu, theres not that many good free games out there
what category you lookin for?
i like apex
i totally forgot about tf2
ew
now im getting nostalgic
dont mention virginite tf
next person to mention it gets the hammer.
CS sucks now
Unless you play ESEA don’t bother playing competitive
Closet and blatant cheaters everywhere
so tf2 is a good game
eh
yes
@shy brook Paladins, War Thunder, Team Fortress 2, CSGO, Realm Royale, Splitgate, The Darwin Project, Dungeon Fighter Online, Warframe
That's all the good f2p games that I can think of
he said good free games
not most of them
darwin is dead, realm royale also prob dead
if you like lying to people or need to learn how to lie deceit is a good free game
ye
Hello! Does anyone have any tips for doing maintenance on my pc? I've had my build for a few years now, maybe 3 but my fans have gotten louder. I'm not sure which ones but I also don't know if there's any way I could fix that
yeah have you ever dusted it?
get a can of air and hold the fin so it doesn't spin when you clean it
I haven't in a while, thanks!
dust is a notorious pc killer.
yay
Anyone excited for the new Borderlands 2 DLC?
im just waiting on july 7th so i can get ahold of a x570 rog strix -e
That case will choke airflow, also the CPU cooler might hit or make it hard to place the memory sticks, check what other people say about it.
G
Hey can someone help me , new to pc gaming just want to know why when i stream and play at the same time my game gets FPS drop?
Both use your PCs resources and so therefore your pc is spreading out its resources to multitask do more things at once that are somewhat intensive
Hell I don't even stream and I know that
@sage token ahh ok, ive noticed it uses a lot of memory when i play and stream so i just wanna know would i need more ram for it to get better
Well see you figured it out
Ok thanks, just didn’t want to go waste money if it wasn’t something i needed @sage token
What is the best way to clean your gaming mouse?
What mouse @shy brook
Rival 600
i use rubbing alcohol
and a cotton pad or microfiber cloth
@pure flume if your single PC streaming it's trying to process all the frames for the game AND capture and encode video for the stream so it's going to cause fps drops. if you have a 10 series or better nvidia GPU the new NVENC encoder is really really good so you might want to try that. just google "new nvenc" + whatever streaming program you're using which i assume is OBS or SLOBS.
NVENC basically offloads more of the encoding/capture to the gpu and helps with more stable frames.
I don’t think i have it on NVENC I’m gonna try that thanks @near steppe
it changed my streaming life @pure flume , theres nvenc and then theres nvenc (new) so make sure to spot the difference in obs/slobs.
Which one should i go with the regular one or the new? @near steppe
new
its been upgraded so much, this is if you have a 10 series or better nvidia GPU @pure flume
it works even better on 20 series gpus
Yeah i have a 1080 @near steppe
i have the 1080ti and the stability increased a good amount with the new nvenc
😬
I don't even have a pc I need one but no resorces to..
I have been streaming and playing Starcraft from a $400. It’s time to upgrade.
What does 400 get you honestly
that kinda depends on who you ask.. rofl
If you buy used, you can get gpus for cheap
just a gamble.
not really, the large majority of purchases are good. it's the few that are bad who speak up and give it a bad name
That’s correct
.
So I don’t have a “pc” but sadly I have a Mac. I need to get rid of it because it’s a 2010 gen and it doesn’t run anything.
Ye I was thinking around there lol
I still gotta get a job and make some money so I can build a pc

graffiti it with lit stickers, it will be l33t
Anyone wanna 1v1
what do u need?
Basically I have a gtx 1060 6gb and an i5-9600k. What do I upgrade? I was thinking the processor first to like an i7-8700k or something
any suggestions?
also I have a feeling that the inconsistencies of the i5-9900k is causing small micro-stutters in games like csgo...
i would say upgrading the graphics card would be more worth it
the difference between the i5 9th gen and the i7 8th gen is double the threads, but not much other than that
an upgrade to an rtx 2060 or a gtx 1070 would be good
well
get an rtx 2060 like zack said
i dont know if the i5 would bottleneck the performance of a new gpu you'd have to ask someone else
one second
aye! why does some games look blurry when on max settings?
one sedc
disable motion blur
isnt 2060 capped at 60 fps?
no lmao
or am i thinking of something else
why would it ?
wait guys say for example I got a gtx 1070 or a 2060, wouldn't the i5-9900k bottleneck the graphics card?
But you shouldnt get over an rtx 2070
yeah
let me think about how to phrase it
lmao
so when I play csgo sometimes I get these really annoying micro-stutters, they're not annoying but when I'm in a competitive match they could really make the difference between winning and losing
oh
they're like really well timed
Screen tearing possibly
hm
could that be your wifi connection?
You put too much frames on your monitor
input lag?
no
i agree its probably screen tearing
Blurry far away but not up close
too many frmaes
like apex
but your monitor can handle it
or is that just how it is
I have a 144 hz monitor
cause I have been advised against doing like v-sync
go to video settings and set the frame cap to 144
DONT USE VSYNC
isnt that the same thing
IT KILLS YOUR FRAMES
trash
NOPE
smh vsync cuts my frames in half
g sync yes
I dont use it
it keeps it at a consistent frame rate
@midnight bridge if you really want to, get a g-sync enabled monitor
or freesymc
freesync*
but it costs like 600 for ag sync monitor
its the amd version of g-sync
yep
lol cheap version of g sync
lmao
but why does apex look so blurry in the distance
I know I'm joking
@rose lodge try making your view distance higher
bruh
Lmao
bruh
their new threadripper has 32 cores and 64 threads
you could like
simulate the entire world on that thing
like with massive simulations
it could be helpful if youre doing large scale premiere movie production
yep
No
but those people have enough money to by 10000 threadrippers
An i7 9900k is honestly the best cpu
oof
k oine second
gpu*
Remember when the i9 cost almost 1k
never will buy it
Yes
Lol if I am able to save enough money I will build my dream
The i9 was like $950 something right
idk
Yeah
how much is your "dream"
I’ll do my dream build PC and put it into PCPartPicker gang
yeet
i mean not that it really matters because 3rd gen ryzen has 8 core 16 thread processors at those speeds
plus free shipping
and for cheaper
everyones dream pc has 2080tis in it
Lol
The difference is I have more than enough currently to pay for my dream pc just can’t do it since I’m saving it all for college
my dream pc is
I7-9700k
RTX 2080ti SLI
32 gb of ram
4tb of storage
256 ssd
My dream pc has the 9900k
you didnt know that?
It’s hard lined too
you gotta get some good water cooling
With the best thermal paste ever
何!?(・_・;?
so you need watercooling or a POWERFUL air cooler
lol
Just put this right here
do you guys think an AIO would be good enough to cool the i9 9900k
gtx 1060 6gb
16gb 2666 DDR4 memory
asus Z390-P
@visual blade
with a 360 rad
it's fine
he has the i5 9600k i think
15-9900k
what do you think the most powerful gpu i can use w/out bottleneck is with a r3 2200?
@midnight bridge if you have 16gb of ram you good
oh shit
sorry didnt see
um
I play like fortnite and csgo
mostly
right now
but I play a bunch of other irrelevant shit as well
..what the
what components are you gonna water cool
why did i join this group?
idk
i have never joined this group
idk
you can leave
I’m putting my dream pc in PCPartPicker
and when i went on discord im on it
do it
i will leave
bye
Goodbye
BYE
bye
i just found it weird of why im on it
Ok
Oof
Well 9900k I would say for gaming only
And the 9980XE probably if you are doing video editing etc on top of gaming
Anyone know the best place to get a good quality gaming laptop for cheapest price?
😮
@dusk apex shameless plug
This PC giveaway makes me mad. You put in 2 2080tis in there and they have to run at 4x because they decided to put a 9900 in it.
But would you be mad if you won @warm idol ?
... Slightly less mad
It just seemed silly and I had no where to vent until I entered and joined this discord hahaha
Haha, welcome my dude.
I wish would be lucky enough to win. Then I can play escape from tarkov and get more then 35 fps
Anyone here play League of Legends?
Not I. Never could get into Mobas 😦
Arma 3?
I’ve got garbage reaction times tbh
No idea how I’ve played for honor as long as I have I’m terrible at it
I’ve thought about buying arma 3 for a while but honestly I feel like my pc would have problems running it smoothly
Yeah my pc broke gonna take me months to buy a new one to play my games again
Everything bud..
I took it for repairs and they said it wont be able to run due to exposure
Ouch
Hence the reason I am hellbent on looking for pc giveaways
If I can find one that's capable of running such games
That’s pretty reasonable actually
You can build one for about that that’s better than mine
prob a ryzen 5
A friend of mine had a similar budget a while back and built one with a 960 and an i5 I believe
I was thinking of getting one of those
Damn
Ryzen is the best
@full wing you better build your own pc with your money
DONT
and i repeat
do not buy a prebuilt espESCIALLY with your budget
you gonna get ripped off
I heard they overcharged you with pre builds
Alienware did
thats facts that every pc nerd knows about
Yup
comm0n knowledge of us pc teens
you could get a ryzen 5 1600 and an rx 580 if you choose your parts correctly
Dm the things I would need to buy or you would reccomend for building a pc
Because this would be my first time in years
@swift bough , language xD
lol
👌
Any Apex Legends lovers?
I loved Apex Legends once, then they released the first battle pass 😢
i like apex legends
@near steppe lets pair up
i just woke up
DM Ur user id if interested
im theo_says on origin. @unique sun
is this good? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/tjhax/saved/4bTmgs
its a good private list
o wait is it private?
yes
if you're spending that much, you might as well use an m.2
m.2?
yes. an NVME drive as your boot device
ahh
if your mobo supports it
it does, its an asus prime
YOU'RE SO SMART BEARDY
thnx
and handsome
wow

also, maybe wait for the new amd gpus. Vega 56 is okay, but, you could do better for that money
how low do you guys think the price of the 2600x, 2700, and 2700x will go after 3rd gen ryzen comes out?
probably not as low as you're hoping.
yeah, 10% drop, max
well, that's kinda what i was hoping for actually lol
and that probably won't be until labor day
there wasnt much of a drop from previous ryzens either.
Yeah they ususally dont drop much. But they also arent that much to begin with either.
well worth the investment
still outrageous
then it went back up to 630
so should i switch out the vega 56 for a nvidia card instead?
yes
a 2070 is cheaper than that
k
i c now
prob because there are much better ones out now
I have a 2060 gigabyte and i can tell you its hot lol
nutrition is important xd
did u get single fan?
dual
cuzz I got 2080 dual fan my temps are under 80 under full load
I have a small case which is prob part of the airflow problem and also why i needed smalled card.
bet. my single fan 1050 almost never goes above 65
iv underclocked 2 vega gpus so far
I have fractal S Mini
actually it barely even hits 60
a vega 56 that kept overheating till it bsod
and a vega 64 reducing fps by almost half bc of overheating
when I read the comments there all the same thing
yeah the ryzen chips throttle pretty hard when hot too
nope
the vega 64 was triple fan aswell
prob only reason why it didnt overheat till it bsod
ryzen doesnt run that hot though
anyone played inside?
New here. Anyone know how to open razer blade pro 4k?
My old blade 4k is heating up. Need repasting
whats a better motherboard than the z329 that can support I9?
anyone have any ram download links? lol
hello?
no
So ive had an xbox for years now, but since all these games are getting crossplay i am thinking about purchasing a pc for less lag, better frames, etc. I am not wanting to build one as i dont really have the time right now to do it. I am looking for one that is less than 1k usd does anyone have any suggestions. I was going to get one of the new gen cyberpower gamer xtremes, but i wanted to check with some people that might know a good deal more than me for their opinions.
Which one?
Do you know how to build a pc? I could get a part list for a unbuilt one
CPU is on the weak side, the 1060 is last gen and will only do 1080p at low frame rate most of t he time.
It’s 1660 theo
I dont know lol.
:l
oh 1660
Yeah
So im a bot when it comes to computers atm so what will the the downside of the cpu? And do you think this is worth the amount of money i would spend on it?
Ok I’m bad with building pc’s for 800
But for $972 I can build a decent https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jGXbBb
CPU is low powered, if you ended up playing any games that required a lot of objects flying around or falling (a lot of physics calculation stuff) the cpu will struggle.
and your frames will struggle.
ARK lags everything lol, even consoles can’t load stuff well on their settings
if you wanted to play things comfortably, i5-9600 would be my recommendation from intel or a r5 2600 from amd.
that build is fine
dont forget the fans
you'll need air pressure not air flow fans for the front of that specific case since the filters block so much air flow.
Yeah I just whipped something up for 800 really quick
@near steppe how many fans should I put for my build? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kGXbBb
Sorry for the late replys im at work atm but i dont know how to build a pc nor fo i have any tools to do so
Ahh
two intake, 1 exhaust, minimum for my preference anyways.
I’ll throw 2 fans in it
i have two high rpm intakes and three low rpm exhaust in my current one
o
@halcyon fractal whats your budget ill help you find a prebuilt
I can go to around 1000 usd
does this have to include a monitor
No
I dont want to spend more than 1200 though
From earlier believe me i know how laggy ark is i played it on the original xbox one for about 2 and a half years. Now i have an x and it still has a hard time keeping up thats why im wanting to get a pc so i can control the settings a little more
And i really appreciate all the help guys it means alot
Hmmm
I would strongly recommend building your own pc, because unless you get some crazy sale on a prebuilt you won't get as much out of your money. And it's not very hard just watch a couple tutorials.
If you build your own PC it will be an investment that will far outlive a prebuilt. You dont have to buy it all at once either, it can be several small purchases of parts.
you'll get best bang for buck if you built your own but that link is my recommendation
ryzen 2600 and a rtx 2060
will run ark just fine @halcyon fractal
plus not to mention what you buy with a prebuilt I can build you something just as good if not better for that price
@halcyon fractal the next generation of that processor in the prebuild that @near steppe recommended is gonna be outdated by one generation next month, but its still a good processor
Any ideas of what tools i would need to build one?
Ill look into it, but i dont want to commit to building one and screw it up or something
a screw driver...
pretty much nothing
oh ark, Ryzen would actually be better over intel for Ark. Go Ryzen 2000 series
maybe small screwdriver
So there is nothing too complicated?
no
if you have a friend that knows how to build then it should be good
naw just got to know hot fit things
it's mostly push things into different slots
Nothing like sautering or anything?
there are youtube tutorials too
meh i still run ryzen 1700x and a 1080 ti and no games that have come out or will come out seem to max out my pc so im still good 😄
@halcyon fractal really just make sure all the components you buy are compatible with eachother because if theyre not its gonna be a problem
I run a montrosity, nothing will ever come out in the next decade that will max out my PC
4 years later
Doesnt that website pcpartpicker check if their compatible?
Newegg has a great filter to sort out parts that are compatible with each other when you search for parts
cpus and gpu performance increases exponentially
it does, but sometimes it leaves out search results

I run a I9 processor, Nvidia 2080 TI, Z239 Godlike motherboard
you might be able to find a cheaper and better part if you check if its compatible with your components yourself
With 64gb of ram
at least thats what ive experienced
it will check if its compatible but its not perfect, for instance if certain things wont fit in certain cases.
Now if i build one the other thing is the operating system. How do you go about that?
you can buy windows 64bit pro online
Youtube
kingquin or newegg
also check slick deals newegg and other pc stores sale items low every once in a while
No Im saying tutorial
windows iso file if you want it free
in my experience, we bought a flash drive, and when we finished building the computer we checked that it turned on, then we turned it off, plugged in the flash drive, turned it on, and just entered the activation key
do not do the ISO file xD Ive heard of so many horror stories of people getting robbed from that
everything else happens automatically
wym sky
What zack said
the iso file comes from microsoft...
Oh I was thinking of the ISO from the 3rd parties
you just need a usb and download the windows os installer off the microsoft download site.
Yeah but some people dont know that
the easiest way to get windows is get the format legit from Microsoft, then buy a cheap key off of eBay
Works 100% of the time
ehhh
Craigslist also sell keys for super cheap
Best thing to do is to not skimp or find backdoor ways into building your first pc... that way nothing can go wrong and if it does... everything is still under warranty
Never used Craigslist tho
Nah they are legit and completely real...The people that make keys buy a key generator and it just makes keys and they sell the keys
Well i guess you all have me convinced to build one so what will i need in total?
Money
Well how much you trying to spend?
That’s it
To be honest building a pc is not hard at all 😄
Thats all you need to ask.
mad is new to pc building tho
1 - 1.2 thousand usd
I built my first pc with YouTube
I had no background experience either
@halcyon fractal what are you using your pc for?
Mostly ark survival
Neither did I lol built mine just fine 😄
But rust and other games
@halcyon fractal my pc cost around 1100$ do you want the spec list?
Yes
ok
Sure
Prices probably have changed since I got the CPU 30$ off but that shouldn’t change much
Rust is a great game @halcyon fractal
I wouldnt go seagate for HD but thats up to you
Why not
Yeah i enjoy watching it ive never played it though
One question does your budget also include monitor or just the pc alone?
Just the pc
Just pc
They are known to corrupt the easiest out of all the other HDs
Oh I didn’t know that
then 1100 is good enough to build you a monster pc to run ark and rust lol luckly those dont have high graphics to begin with
Yeah, they are cheap and work for a short investment for space but Id recommend upgrading it down the road...Also you always need more space
the 2060 would be your best bet for GPU with a 1200$ budget
Yeah I’m already thinking about getting another ssd
@hallow aurora Rust will destroy any pc, it's just badly optimized...
Kinda want an M2 ssd
I have a 2tb SSD
👀
like i said they could also just buy a 1080 or 1080 ti and still have more than enough juice to run those specific games on max settings
Its nice
Beefy ssd
So the link that you sent @noble turtle would be everything i would need ?
pretty much, I'm adding some more cause I forgot a few things
Computer Component Buying Checklist: (Correct me if i forgot something):
Processor (Ryzen 5/Intel Core i5 or better)
Motherboard (Make sure you get one thats good enough for your use case, and get a really good one if youre doing overclocking)
Graphics Card (GTX 1070/RTX 2060 or better)
RAM (16GB or more for gaming)
Power Supply (850w is a good standard unless you have super extreme hardware, this large size also is good for upgrading later)
Storage Devices (can be SSD or HDD, SSD is faster)
Case with 3 or more fans (fans can be bought aftermarket but they can be expensive if you want RGB)
like case fans

Okk
Yeah but realistically even if I was to fill my SSD, I have another 15tb waiting for it. I would just switch out my games and just switch them onto the SSD whenever I paly
I have no case fans 😦
ugh my power went out
i recommend the Thermaltake Level 20 MT ARGB
Ive spent way too much on my PC :/
comes with all the case fans you need, looks good, includes a PSU cover for even better looks, RGB, and all for $100
And I dont even ahve anything to upgrade anymore...I finally upgraded my processor and that was the last thing I needed
Could upgrade to the intel zeon
i was going to upgrade to the 2700x but waiting for 3700x now and a better MB
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/fuglyto/saved/Dfx9GX you can save $100 if you order windows 10 pro 64 bit off a 3rd party site.
Intel is the only way to go
????
i like intel too
intel is good but have you seen Ryzen 3rd gen?
3rd gen isnt even out yet
for gaming alone yes hands down... but i use mine for other projects and amd is destroying intel in that aspect
ik

but it looks good so far
yeah
well guess Ill ahve to save up for the intel xeon
Thats the last upgrade I will ever need for years now
sadly everything now gets outdated within 2-4 years :/ before components would last you 4-5.... damn technology boom lol
Nahhh my build as is will last the next 6-7 years...They are using my PC at college universities for extreme astrophysics simulators.
And my build runs it flawless and it doesnt even come close to maxing it out
Specs? @tardy shoal
Intel I9 9900k
Nvidia 2080 ti
64gb of ram
Z239 Godlike
Phanteks Enthoo Elite Extreme Full Tower Chassis Aluminum
Watercooling
2tb SSD
😳
custom loop?
3 5tb WD Black
is that ssd a nvme ?
Nah my local computer store had one, idk the brnad or anything dont really care about it but they hooked everything up and everything
@halcyon fractal along with the release of those new processors next month also comes new motherboards which support PCI 4.0 which is faster than the current PCI 3.0
No @hallow aurora it is a 860 evo samsung 2tb
there arent many things that support it yet, but if you wanna be future proof id wait till next month too see if the new AMD processors are worth it
its also backwards compatible so no worries there
Just go i9 and never worry again
I will need to save up for this anyways so it might be next month anyways lol
lol
@tardy shoal while the i9 is great, the next gen amd processors might be better and cheaper
You can buy it piece by piece, you dont need to buy it all at once
we will see though
Uhhh doubtful
how so
It might be cheaper but Intel has always been better than AMD
and thats evidence that they will always be better though?
Realistically if you only play for gaming the AMD is the better choice but for cybersecurity and coding I need intel
oh
well yeah
they have their different strengths
whats IPC? @near steppe (sorry im dumb)
instructions per cycle
thanks
thoughts https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xYNPRJ
i love the case :)
yeah didn't feel like finding fans
@noble turtle the memory speed is fine, try to find one with lower cas latency to make ryzen better
pcpartpicker not me
all the cheap b450 mobos are matx
hm ok
just a note
the stock cooler with that processor might block a ram slot
just be careful
nvm found a good ATX one for $10 more
havent heard of asrock that much
idk if theyre any good
i wont judge tho
some people say thermaltake is cheap and fake but i think theyre a good brand
I've had the same asrock mobo for 8+ years...not a single problem
@near steppe what cas latency would you reccomend
the cheapest cas 15 jumps up $100 for a 32gb kit
for 3200mhz that is
14 or lower if you can xD, but this is all preference
what does cas latency mean?
is the drop to 3000mhz worth a 14/15 cas latency?
ok
which no real human unless you're ocd will actually care about
so this is better? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P9Czq4
thanks
two 2x8gb kits of 3200mhz cas 15
that can work if you dont mind prices
you don't have to listen to me
ryzens work better with faster ram
on AMDs site it says the Ryzen 2700x supports up to 2933mhz
and 2 memory channels
i use 16gb 2x8gb trident z 3200 mhz for my ryzen 7
what ryzen 7 is it?
1700
upgrading to the new 12 core when it launches
currently my build is ryzen 7 1700, asrock gaming x x370 and evga gtx 1070 . Switching to 12 core ryzen 9 , asus strix x570-e and amd rx5700
im done upgrading on mine. Not unless a ground breaking graphics card or something comes out.
idk if the gpu upgrade is all that important tho @viral reef
nvm I lied, Im upgrading to a 4tb Samsung Evo SSD then that will be my last upgrade ever
nah, realistically my graphics card wont be another upgrade for at least 4 years, Im guessing the 6 year rate. My processor is the same lines and motherboard I shouldnt ever have to replace. My ram is good at 4x16gb sticks. Like honestly there is not anything out there that can clock my pc out and thats including every VR game out there and simulators.
🤷
My dad has a 1080 TI and does Nascar simulators and doesnt even have any issues there either
well thats good
but things are always getting better
and more power hungry
but yeah your build is gonna last awhile
bruh Im telling you, it will be years till anything is strenuous on my build and I mean years at which point I can still run this build for another few years.
just wait for ray tracing vr games 😄
I barely use 10% even gaming across the board and I play VR minecraft alot and that only gets me up to the 15% mark
ok
im not doubting your pc will last a long time
just saying this wont be the end-all of upgrades for the rest of eternity
You right but I dont have to think about it for a long time. Honestly really want that 4tb SSD though but at the same time its so unnecessary :/
well a lot of that is unnecessary (no offense)
but yea 4tb is a lot
especially with an SSD
thats gonna be good
I mean I have 17tb total :/
holy-
would be 19 with the new SSD :/
niceee
But again I barely have 1tb full on my SSD and have 10 still on my HHDs
I play it on my 2080TI and its fantasballs
HTC
vive or vive pro
Yeah, I just happen to be able to pay for it thankfully and dont have to many bills to pay xD otherwise I wouldnt be able to build something this nice
yes played it and hated it
why?
Anyone play ark?
nah
because it wasnt my type of game
I used to but not anymore
I played it during pre release
no but again not game style
No I havent
like its not a game or anything but its so cool
its super immersie too
immersive*
can I go underwater?
i havent tried that
it lets you do street view in vr
you can go wherever you want
i went to my friends house and say him on his trampoline lmao
I like the call of duty VR game
never heard of it
you can play bo3 in VR
