but for some reason, they did not come out with many (if any) decent Ryzen CPU + RTX 2070 or above GPU laptops
at the lower end, Zephyrus G14 and the Tuf A15 are great options, but equipped only up to a RTX 2060
Try sending the link without https://
Well, the thing with that is that is running a last-gen Ryzen chip, and Ryzen really made some gains this generation (3000 series desktop chips and 4000 series laptop chips), and that's why Ryzen is being recommended nowadays.
As an example : take a look at this comparison (and mainly the single-core speed), it's like a 20% increase in single core perf
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AMD-Ryzen-7-3750H-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-4600H/3441vs3708
Of course more cores but yea
Cripes. Quite the difference
Try without the https:// again :D
Yea, that's the G15 I mentioned before, but it only goes up to a RTX 2060, and your desktop had a 2070 :(
Look everyone! A middle-aged dude is trying to use Discord!
Not a terribly huge drop between 2060 and 2070?
Here's the comparison, taking into account the 2060 is a laptop part.
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/GeForce-RTX-2060-(Mobile)-vs-GeForce-RTX-2070/4085vs4001
There is quite a difference
I'm still quite sad the laptops equipped with Ryzen 4000 laptop CPUs don't carry better GPUs :(
(yet)
gpucheck comparison suggested a pretty minimal difference if you're in 1080p
Do remember that the 2060 being a laptop GPU compared to a desktop 2070 has a fair difference
since a mobile 2060 is built with lower power consumption in mind
Roger that
Anyways, these are just numbers on benchmarks, it might not make the biggest difference in real-world perf, what exactly are you looking to do with the laptop?
Yeah, I was just gonna say: I need to keep in mind what I'm using it for. These days, most of my hours are in Teamfight Tactics, but I'll also want to use it for some VR. Half-Life Alyx is still waiting for me to throw the headset on.
Well, VR and especially Alyx is going to be tough on a laptop, or do you have an oculus quest?
Quest indeed
TFT should be fairly easy to run, and quest doesn't need PC power, and can run stuff internally
Not Alyx, it can't, but quite a lot, yes
Oh fair enough
I've been fortunate enough, during this quarantine to "work from home" from the family cottage. Which has been great, but really missing the desktop horsepower.
working from the family cottage sounds nice, i'll trade you lol
consider using geforce now lol
you can be surrounded by all the california fires, and i'll work from the cottage
(if you have any sort of reliable network)
Have had to hotspot from my phone, but I do have 50GB
Right now the conundrum is that something like Alyx takes a lot of graphical horsepower, which would take a better GPU to have a smooth experience in VR (afaik), but TFT would be quite easy to run on something like a Zephyrus G15, maybe with lowered specs to like a 1660ti or something.
I don't tend to play anything too data-intensive. FPS games are too much action for me.
My brother was actually pretty close to surrounded by the CA fires: Santa Cruz
So I wonder if you could just upgrade your desktop or get a new desktop for VR and other intensive tasks, but still have a good enough laptop for TFT or running other games on medium settings at 1080p.
Well, my current desktop isn't really in need of upgrading
I'd be pretty picky if I wasn't happy with the 2070
Hehe, I have a 2070 and I am a bit picky about not hitting 144fps on high settings in FPS games, but that's just me
In hindsight, I may not have been clear that I already owned the PC
3070 GANG tho
Yea, you were clear on that, I was just confused about if you were trying to replace the PC with the laptop, or as just an add-on for when you are away-from-home
With summer coming to an end, maybe I should just table it for now and squirrel laptop money away for next spring
Ah. Yeah, I was considering replacing it. Have it do all the heavy lifting at home while still being portable.
For now, perhaps I should consider spoiling myself with a proper gaming monitor. I'm still in 1080p-land, so...
Well, 1440p does take a bit more compute power to run :D
But as long as you don't need 100+fps, you should still do decently with a 2070
Would probably be wise of me to try out such a monitor to see if the difference really catches my eye
There are some decent 1440p144hz ones for ~300usd, I'll go check the Canadian market real quick
Take a look at this @astral jewel
https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16824012013
Anyways, like the guy said before, you should take a look at Geforce Now if you have good wifi, might not work well off Data, but it's quite good for having a relatively bad laptop play games
As far as I know, none! It's a decently speced 1440p144hz monitor at an affordable price by a reputable brand.
Yeah, I haven't done much research into Geforce Now. The research sounds both necessary and fun, to be honest
You can try it for free for 1 hour long sessions each day, I'm not sure if it supports TFT though, haven't looked at their library in a while
I just had a million$ idea: a shipping service for high-tech toys that makes sure they deliver when you're the only one home!
I have a very understanding wife, just don't wanna push my luck!
Hehe, I mean Amazon does have options to have packaging that doesn't show what's inside, and most retailers support shipping to your post office for safe-keeping :D
I recently gave her my blessing on her stand-up paddleboard, so i have a wee bit of goodwill left!
3d printer may have eaten into that a bit...
Well, everyone deserves some fun toys to play around with :D
Side note, you leveled up to level 3 in this discord (hence the green name), and now you can send images and links without issues :D
Oh great, another game to get addicted to!
Well, PC stuff sure is quite interesting...
But they can really cut into your wallet if you don't control yourself xD
"Just a few more minutes hun, I wanna get my name to teal!"
Oh hey, I found the meme I was looking for earlier
LMAO
Slightly out of date now, but you get the idea :D
Just so you know, the xp for the level system is granted once every minute, and you can check your rank and level in #ranks-and-levels
I better start getting some productive stuff done around here. I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge and the enjoyable conversation.
Of course, have some fun out there :D
Always!!
someone is selling a quest for 200 on ebay which is good i guess considering they are sold out and normally 499 or something like that
i mean thats like the current bid right?
its 400 new but its likely a lot will be sold since the new headsets coming
Anyone seen any good deals on prebuilts for labor day or intel gamerdays sales?
nah
i've been keeping an eye out for VR deals, i want to get back into elite: dangerous and dust off my hotas
ha
Why
3070
Ya. 2080tis are selling for 450$ on HardwareSwap Reddit atm... People be frecking out
Currently selling 2070 super for the price of a 3070
good luck with that
2070S still has stock and isnt highly priced on new or used market. So dont think you'll be able to sell for MSRP
Yo so like 6 months ago I got a zotac amp 1070 with the box and everything for 175 bucks shipped, that was a good deal right? Lol
yeah for 6 months ago
Yeah that seems like a good deal even today
I got my 2080s for $369 but i really just got lucky
Idk
What?
nothing
its even cheaper now
was $70 a bit ago
Ya
Damn pretty nice
Check this out on @Newegg: WD Blue WD20EZAZ 2TB 5400 RPM 256MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM https://www.newegg.com/blue-wd20ezaz-2tb/p/N82E16822234372?Item=N82E16822234372&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-22-234-372-_-09022020
Barracuda 2tb is same price for 7200rpm
Barracuda is nice
TUF VG259QM 24.5" 16:9 Full HD 280Hz IPS Gaming Monitor with Adaptive-Sync, Built-In Speakers
not really on sale, but a good price for what it is
also on backorder
Wow 280hz
hmmmm not too expensive but I want 3080
I'm also considering the 3080, or 3090 if i can sell a bit more than normal.
am i allowed to advertise my own sale here?
"9. No sweepstakes/giveaways, e-begging, trading or selling on this server"
oh ok thanks
You can go to r/hardwareswap if you want to sell some things.
Recent sales on Ebay say $100-125
I have a system sitting over here with a empty PCIE slot waiting for a nice new GPU
Big Navi is sooooooo hurting and its not even released yet
I wouldnt say that by any means
Hopefully with Nvidia giving 2080ti performance in the 3070 for about half the cost, itll make AMD cards that much cheaper, they aren't bad, but they aren't top teir.
yeah
Dont get me wrong .. i said that wrong
nothing wrong with AMD cards for mid tier machines
IT appeared they tried to make a run on entering the top tier and Nvidia just pulled a drop the mic moment on them
AMD needs to put more funding in their R&D for their gpus, they're doing fine on the processor front right now, but their gpus need some work.
Its hard to split resources and run both fronts and be top dog in each
They don't need to be top dog in each, but they should at least be able to compete in both. I mean i like huge ipc gains in each gen for their processors, but id love to see gpus drop in price across the board from a little more competition.
yupp
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the prices Nvidia releases with the 30XX series
I wonder what their titan for this gen is going to be like, if they actually release one that is, the 3090 could be what their titan is.
3090 is more like a titan at a reduced cost, 3080 is the 2080 ti and definately a cost reduction and the 3070 was a nice surprise as well
yeah , a few trusted sources are already making that comparison, with 24gb of mem and the cores , it does appear to the be titan of the 30xx series
although we should take this talk to the general chat channel
i g2g anyway, i have a computer to set up for someone in 20 min.
nice
ddr3 wont work for 9100f
yeah i goofed
thats a good price thanks
just be aware @slim vault, after 2666MHz (or it might be 2400, i dont remember) intel voids your warranty on your motherboard and CPU iirc, so, be careful with that
yeah the motherboards rated at 2666, im just ganna use it at that speed
^
I’m assuming all the new GPUs will get a TI version from the hints so far
all of them?
lol
Case I ordered yesterday arrived today
@graceful flare bro you guys have lightspeed shipping
I will probably order my case through Newegg as well.
2080ti panic sales :)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/333707596321
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193645597790
heatkiller block smexy
700$ isn't good imo
Yeah
Considering 3070 is gonna be $500 and rumored to be about 2080 to perf
U is so screwed 🍪
I feel like 3000 series prices are gonna go up slighty by the end of the year so 450 seems like a good bet
ROG z390-e 9600k 16gb and a cooler for 250 cooler is hyper 212 red 16gb vengeance rgb 3200 mhz
thats really good
I cant decide where the 2080ti will land. It depends just how much the 3070 beats it. If the 3070 beats it across the board by 10% consistently then i wouldn't pay a dime over 400$ for one. Even if it was some high end version
I about to buy a 2080 aouros for 350
why
3070=500 so I did some math and figured if the 3060 might be 300 so I don’t mind paying a extra 50 for something that’s a lil better
And I have a rx 470 and not exactly the best
That is a fair price for a 2080
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811353196
@uneven hamlet what do you guys think of this case
it’s a good price so i was considering it
it’s comes with 120gb ssd do u think that’s ok for a noob
I’ve heard diypc isn’t easily accessible
@uneven hamlet what do you guys think of this case
@harsh imp i was wondering the same thing
Diypc is horrible I had a case and the power button broke in a week and I cut myself like 10 times building in it and it had horrible airflow I had to return it even for the 40 bucks I spen
oh what do u recommend instead for a noob w a low budget but also better quality than diypc
Fractal Design Focus G, Cougar MX330-g
Lol well what size u looking or ATX micro ATX or mini it’s
@gaunt island what’s the difference 😭😭
Coolermaster MB511 is also decent, bit more monies tho
@gaunt island what’s the difference 😭😭
@ashen trench well itx is smallest like really tiny micro ATX is like mid size and ATX is full sized
MX330-g air is great for the price, but it's never in stock :(
Yea that’s super true
@ashen trench well itx is smallest like really tiny micro ATX is like mid size and ATX is full sized
@gaunt island well umm. regular size ?
Fantex has good budget cases
MX330-g air is great for the price, but it's never in stock :(
@hollow prawn 😢😢
We’ll prolly a fanteks lemme grab u a link or a cooler master
only budget phanteks case is p300a
like p400a isn't exactly budget
100$ is a different range from the 60$ range
Check this out on @Newegg: Phanteks Eclipse P300 PH-EC300PTG_BK Black Steel Chassis, Tempered Glass Window ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
also one question, if i get an amd ryzen 1600 that comes with a cpu cooler, do i also. we’d to get an extra cooler ? or will that included one suffice
Check this out on @graceful flare: Phanteks Eclipse P300 PH-EC300PTG_BK Black Steel Chassis, Tempered Glass Window ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
@gaunt island thanks bro!
Stock on amd is good
Focus G is a pretty nice just average mid tower lol
Or I’ll send to dms rq
dunno why it's just so average
Yea the focus g is a nice case
what do u think about the NZXT S340 elite atx midtower case ?
Uhhh that’s an old one I think lol lemme look
Nvm yes that’s a cool case but like 150 bucks
not really "budget"
if you're willing to spend 100$, Coolermaster TD500 mesh is my only great suggestion
S340 looks to be another no-airflow-nzxt-case that's quite common nowadays :(
Yea that’s my prob with nzxt the look nice but run so hot
unless the images I found were of a different case
I have a deal on 5mile for a gtx1080 for $200 but he says his motherboard doesn't work with it and we are meeting half way what should I do?
if you're willing to spend 100$, Coolermaster TD500 mesh is my only great suggestion
@hollow prawn i checked that out on amazon, but a lot of the replies are saying it’s ok but not that great, too flimsy, poor design, poor airflow, the case is too sensitive, etc
is the 560 ti really bad? or decent

that means i wouldnt pay for one, but if you have it or getting it for free, then its fine
honestly the 750ti for 50$ or rx 460 is much better
The fractal meshify C atx case is pretty feature rich and fractal makes good stuff.
The mesh front panel should allow plenty of airflow and you can top mount a 240 radiator, which is my preferred spot for one.
I almost bought one today but I have 3x140mm fans and the meshify C uses 3x120mm on the front and 1x120mm on the back of the case.
Can't believe it would have a lot of bad reviews lol
I always trust a review from GN more than random people on amazon, so here's the GN review @harsh imp
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iPggUimB4k
Cooler Master's MasterBox TD500 Mesh case is one of the most interesting we've worked with this year, striking a firm balance within the $100 price-class of high-performance cases. Review within.

A 25-inch gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, a true 1ms GtG fast IPS response time, and intense color coverage from every angle for seamless gaming.

I was also looking at these two
One of them is on sale for 330
Hey, speaking of monitors, I had this recommended to me: https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16824012013?Item=N82E16824012013
But I'm now seeing this: https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16824236825?Item=N82E16824236825
Seems to me the 28" has very similar specs, 1ms, flicker-free, higher res than the 27" and is cheaper. So what am I missing? Is it the speakers? Cuz I didn't really need that feature anyways.
Oh, and no curve on the 28", which I think I'm cool with.
60hz oof
I was just coming back to say that - just noticed
That's gotta be the kicker, right?
But it’s 4K lol
I haven't bought a "gaming monitor" before. It was always simply about size and price.
Hmm, another $65 and I can get that Gigabyte monitor in a 32": https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16824012012
32 is quite large. I’d say no bigger than 28” if I were you. Unless you just watch movies lol
Diminishing returns?
Alright, to start with, there's 3 main things to consider with monitors, Size, Resolution, and Refresh rate
Higher size at the same resolution results in lower pixel density, aka. you'll see the individual pixels and it'll be less immersive
And I'm probably only about 2ft away from my monitor, so it would probably be noticeable.
25-27” should be great unless you want ultra wide
Was just about to pull the trigger on your recommendation yesterday of the 27" Gigabyte then saw the 32" on sale. Hadn't considered how bigger isn't always better.
And right now the main choice you're trying to make it between 1440p 165hz and 2160p (4k) 60hz
Yea.
Well, I think I've already discarded the 60hz
I suspect there's a reason why it's that much cheaper
Fair enough, the reason is 144/165hz can be just SO MUCH SMOOTHER to most people
Less than $300 for a 4k display? Is it a TN panel?
It's 60hz.
Rip definitely better off with a 1440p 144hz monitor
Currently running a 60Hz, 24" 1080p, so I'm prepared to be impressed
$409 for a VA panel still seems pricy in my book
Cad.
Yeah, I'm spending the funny money up here.
400usd for 1440p144hz va is a bit lacking, you'll be able to get ips at near that price
But 400cad it's good
^
Cad ain't bad, not bad at all compared to trying to figure out HKD
Or like saudi money
Have you seen the LG 27GN850b?
It’s sought after as one of the best but probably has some of the worst quality control
Not yet
They also just released a 27” 4k IPS display
For $800 in comparison to the $1,200 Predator x27 it seems like a steal
Anyways vg27aq and Fi27q are the go to ips 1440p144 panels I check
I think what's holding me back on the G27QC is paying for speakers that I won't use
I’m probably gonna end up buying a vg27aq
It price just seems to fluctuate weirdly. Ranging from $429-$506
Huh, so the vast majority of these have built-in speakers. Did not expect that. Like I said, haven't monitor shopped in a LONG time.
the built in speakers usually arent the greatest, but yeah a lot of nicer monitors have them
32gb Team Dark Za 3600MHz for $99.99 https://bit.ly/3gSW6Er
Not sure I understand why. If someone is shelling out for a gaming monitor, won't they also likely have a decent 2.1 speaker setup?
eh a lot of people do but its probably not that much too add a low powered speaker+its a selling point
Fair
Yeah, i should probably use headphones more often. I have enough of them that I'm not making use of.

Lmaoooooo remember when all the Rtx 20 kids were super hype for 30 series and they were laughing abt how they could sell their gpus for almost new price but then nvidia had to go ahead and make a 500$ gpu that outperforms a 1300$ one
Makes me happy that I held off building a PC until the 30s were released lol
Had my finger on the trigger to buy my first array of parts in 15 years... then heard about the announcement coming soon and stopped myself
Is a used r7 3700x for $220 good deal
Nop
could pay $70 more and get brand new with stock cooler
plus assassins creed valhalla
which is $60 value right there
that's not bad at all
man im so amazed at the price. Not 3 months ago i bought mine for 230$

yeah good thing you got it 🙂
Fr
My phone is so slow I was probably really close to not getting it
MSI anything sucks for new because they hate good RMA
but if used, eh, not going to matter anyways
Mhmm
Just gotta hope it good
And now I will proceed to go back and forth for an hour thinking whether or not that was the right decision to make
XD i mean he has money back guarenteed and a 3 day period to test
and it was in commension for a year with the guy he bought from on mercari for 3 years
Yeah just gotta hope it arrives in 6 days or more cause I’m leaving for 6 days in a few hours o_0
Lol you’re welcome
@last egret whats those white lines on the board lmao
light
Lmao im stupid
Hi stupid I’m yams
hi yams im dad

Ryzen gpu where
Radeon CPU when
Whut a fudging steal
Next we’re going to be having rtx CPUs
That would be cool if Nvidia made CPUs
And intel is supposedly making GPUs
So you could have all intel, all AMD, or all Nvidia Pc
Is a 3900xt for $340 gud
They say it’s new and tht they have more than one but none of them are in box
Guess only way to find out is inspect the chip in person
If it's new than that's a fat steal
@hollow prawn has great experiences with team group stuff, especially team ram
But tbh tho, they make ssds to, like the mp34
@rose ledge gx1 gx2 crap
Just spend an extra 10 bucks for an m.2
form factor (M2 vs 2.5") means nothing in perf. Hardware (controller, cache, NAND type, amount of layers) / Protocol (SATA/NVMe) / Firmware does. GX1/2 is bad due to bad hardware (lack of a good cache system) and as such you should get an SSD with good hardware.
@rose ledge team group is a good brand in general tho
Team mp34 is one of the best set of ssds out there
for the price*
still not on the level of best gen3 NVMes, let alone the gen4 NVMes
@karmic rivet They're joking btw, team products are bad across the board, they just have a few exceptional products.
MP34 and Dark pros mainly
Yea
you guys know any windows 10 keys that are legit and cheap
is Team bad across the board, or are they just really flip/flop in being good/bad and having an average of "meh"?
VERY flip flop i think
their bad ones are basically the cheapest you can find on the market
like silicon power i think
they both have one good ssd afaik
my T-force delta ram runs 3200 xmp just fine
doubt it will hit 3600 with reasonable timings tho
If your ram can't even run xmp tho that's an issue
@loud otter I get windows keys from g2a.com
They’re like $25 for a pro edition and I haven’t had any issues w them
How do they send it or sum
software-codes.com 4euro
This is my first time and I don’t wanna waste to much money
On g2a you buy and they email you the product code
Can u like dm me a link to the ones you buy cuz the sellers I looked at seem sus
I haven’t tried the software codes but that’s cheap too
@loud otter they are legit. Maybe it’s against Microsoft url but those codes do work. I did it.
The concept works like this. Huge company spend thousands for a Microsoft unlimited or at least very high use code. Then they try to get some of their money back. I wouldn’t be surprised if the code worked many times that you get.

$121
Ooh
Bro?
With a discount of that magnitude how can I say no
You just can’t
Hey guys what does Black Friday/cyber Monday look like for computer parts?
Chonky sales
yeah that's not a 960, no way
it's probably like a 550 or something
with a flashed bios
that is classic knockoff ebay cooler
they label those cards as anything from a 960 to a 1050ti or a 1650 even
and they're all just flashed 550ti's usually
with like 1gb vram
if the cooler isn't the main giveaway, it has vga and dvi
it has vga.
it's fake
reference 960's did have dvi, but they had hdmi/dvi/displayport
as an example, a "1050ti" for $53
look at the cooler and look at the ports
same card as the "960"
Lol
@supple sluice
Thank you for your help. I look really dumb now and that's ok as long as I learned from this experiance.
another thing is weird specs
No worries, I learned about that whole racket not too long ago myself, as I was looking for budget GPU's for PC flips
Delete the false links please just so people more dumb then me don't just click the link and go buy it without reading the text.
Because that will happen.
so like different base/boost/mem clocks or mem bus width
first thing I did was google 'cheap ebay 970' and there are a few YT videos about them
I noticed that while back when I was like "nani the heck?" and looked into it
haha bryce u always look dumb
😩
also bryce im sorry for mocking you long ago for going intel
for i have now done the same

snagged a 10920x for cheaper than a 10900k
and a x299 mobo for the same price as a super cheap z490 board
Are the X intel processors better than the K ones?
yes and no
after the 10/20 10900k, the 10920x has 12/24, and core counts continue to increase, with clock speeds adjusting based on the number of cores
6/12 10600k
8/16 10700k
10/20 10900k
10/20 10900x
12/24 10920x
14/28 10940x
18/36 10980xe
22/44 10990xe
then the base and boost clocks vary per model, like the 10900k boosts higher than the 10920x
that is until I oc the pants off my 10920x
Didn’t even know there were that many models tbh
thats only the unlocked ones
jesus
waait i actually missed one
All that being said, how does the 9900k pair up with those when it comes to gaming?
the 10700k is really a 9900k in disguise
Ahh gotcha
I just recently bought a 9900k after hearing there were problems with the 10900k but I don’t remember exactly what was said
But it’s doing great so far, no issues
nope, there arent any issues with the 10900k
welp, rip
i7?

decent enough
no heatsink tho insta nobuy
i got my sn750 for $53 with a promo code like a month ago
That xpg is a really solid ssd
I have the XPG 8200. super nice
Wait would you recommend getting m2 only if it comes with its own heat sink? Rather than looking for a mobo w a heatsink?
Are heatsinks super important? Seems like most of them come without one
No
usually high end drives and gen 4 drives have them, helps if u have really bad case thermals or just live anywhere hot to stop them from thermal throttling
Makes sense. I didn't think it would be a problem for be, mesh front panel and less than 22c ambient
this sale is still going so if u want a free ssd with a decent looking case for 60$
how would this do with the FE 3000s series cards?
@pallid saddle looks like no cooling, and generic "wd 120gb ssd" isn't really giving me a good feeling
it looks like just the WD green 120GB and the front looks like mesh in some pics
hmm
Green is dramless
Anyone know any well priced M.2 PCIE 4.0 SSD’s?
Why do you need PCIe 4.0
jesus
sabrent is good
If anyone needs a psu this is the best deal you are gonna get
This is also a tier A on psu list
Bought that one a couple days ago, would recommend 👍
Ah super flower leadex that was a good anime
!Meep if you are wondering about good airflow cases you should watch some of gamers nexus videos on youtube. He does the best case testing for atx at least.

@supple forge btw, >:D
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1548503-REG/seasonic_electronics_focus_gm_650_650w_80.html
Plus I've been seeing $190 for 650watt psus atm
I haven't see above 135$ for the in stock decent drives
and that's just RMx being RMx
And $100 for 650 semi modular isn't the best deal
Still wouldn't pay that much.
I'm more of a modular guy
But I've seen that psu for lower pricing before this pandemic
Ram is lower 😂
I think it was whisper m that was like 90$ for 650w before
Rmx sorry
Ram seems about the same
$50 is a steal
I have a bot that tells me the best deals going on in my discord that's where I'm pulling the links from
I hate team but 3000 is decent
Aegis has been ~60$ constant and sometimes sales bring it down
@hollow prawn broooo team ram
Any psu recommendations for a 8 + 4 pin cpu connectors?
@floral lichen Great minds think alike. My friend has this cooler master one and I think it works with the CPU connecters https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-mwe-gold-750-full-modular-mpy-7501-afaag-us-750w/p/N82E16817171129?Item=N82E16817171129

B stock also has a 1000 watt supernova G5 for 130 bucks. good deal
G5 is kinda meh series, objectively bad 1000w PSU
Besides a slight amount of fan noise offset by the eco mode. Its still good. Specially in terms of line load
friend went to fry's elctronics and got a x299 board for 120 bucks
so if you guys want some cheap tech look to fry's electronics
same
the one i live near is basically completely cleared out from online orders and lack of stock
I never had a fry’s electronic store near me.
very nidw
I also got 16gb of ram and some rgb Corsair fans for 15$
@last egret where’d u get all that
Mercari 😂
Im just vibing I had a 25$ coupon it was originally 145
I really do be vibing in the ritz car
Bro?
@last egret nice find
cant wait to see how cheap things get when the 3070 comes out
Is a used Asus 2080 for $400 a good deal? I have. 2080 super but friend wants it
anyone have an idea of what frames the rtx 3070 will run warzone at?
No way to know that
wait until its released
@proven epoch one can only assume. It’s suppose to have similar performance or better to a 2080ti so you could look up standards on one of those
I’d say $400 for 2080 isn’t the best deal if the 3070 performs as well as they say it does, which I believe was twice as well as the 2080. Those specs do come straight from Nvidia though and I’d wait for independent testing. If things work as well as they say they do though, the 3070 for $500 is a great deal.
i think it was the 3080 that was 2x 2080
Ahh, yeah that’s right, my bad
They say the 3070 is equivalent to the 2080ti I think
yup
just gotta wait for benchmarks to actually see if thats true
they claimed it was faster
The restrictions for independent testing/videos lift like the 14th don’t they?
I’m ready to see Linus’ videos on it
2080ti and for only 400? sign me up
yeah 14th
i think

No
GX2 is dramless
I can find you a cheapish 1tb SSD with dram in Canada if you want me to
That would be great. My Alienware Aurora R8 could use some more storage, but it has to be 2.5", so a drive like this seemed like a good idea.
Btw, really enjoying my new Gigabyte monitor you recommended!
Nice, hope it lasts you a while :D
@astral jewel anyways this and the Vulcan linked above are the cheapest 1tb drives with dram I can see at a glance

bruh what

For anyone in mainland Europe: this is a steal https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/AMD-Ryzen-7-3700X-8x-3-60GHz-So-AM4-BOX_1313645.html
really?
in the us its 15 cheapers
that is 306 dollars
kinda looks like a scam to me on uk pcpp it says its 10 euro cheaper
This not a scam M8 I order a good deal of parts from mindfactory doing builds, in Germany product taxing is really which allows for these kinds of prices.
The german consumer product tax is up to 10 percent lower than the Dutch product tax which allows for these prices, heres the same cpu in the Netherlands but with the higher consumer product tax applied https://www.megekko.nl/product/0/261301/AMD-Ryzen-7-3700X?r=scoupz.nl&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwPaEj8Lf6wIVjdwYCh3VKAkpEAQYASABEgLotvD_BwE
ya mindfactory is legit
They can be a pain in the tail when it comes to returns though.

Ok
@worn rose I meant scam as in bad price
The euro works differently as a currency then the dollar, so does wage and that guff. So theres no real point in calling European pricing a scam when you consider the fact importing from America to Europe is a giant cluster dump of disaster with all the shipping and customs fees that completely destroy the point of importing pc parts from America. So calling European pricing a scam is rather silly by doing a simple currency conversion and not thinking about how the many factors that go into it.
kinda looks like a scam to me on uk pcpp it says its 10 euro cheaper
its cheaper in terms of euros in a different store

I’m looking to upgrade from a GTX 1050 TI
Why would be a suitable upgrade?
@uneven snow what CPU and power supply do you have?
AMD Ryzen 7 2700
EVGA 750w
750w evga
Hope its not an N1
It is.....
gross
No bueno.....

Haha
oh god
I had a budget and just worked with what I could. So now I’m looking to right my wrongs
whats ur budget for upgrade
$400?
New PSU + RTX 2060 maybe
1660 super is a reasonable upgrade
or wait to see if they announce 3060
or New PSU+ like used 2070
1080p o assume?
3060 is gonna be 2 months at least I'd think
because they're staggering releases with 3070 in a month
The. You won’t be tempted to buy a brand new monitor
Perfect! That’s gives me a starting point! Thank you all so much for your time.
I can point you towards some good enough cheap-ish PSU if you want
C X
For example : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079SSKYWB
eh
PB is decent enough
CX550 was like 75$ when I checked last
and I'd like for them to save a bit of monies
+$10 for a bit better quality + 2 years extra warranty id say is worth it all the way
guys?
ew
it was because it was kinda tight for grabbing a gpu
soo 10$ could be the difference between a 2070 and 2060 new going in the build
and its got a better upgrade path
and its also just straight up faster
hmm ill pay tax if you buy one
wait no. stop im broke
me chlling with ever single part for my pc and just waiting for my PSU BECAUSE it got cancelled
Spend 3600 on a cpu
Get lower fps in games than an I7
why would you get a TR for gaming
to be futureproofed for when games use 64 cores

-\
could of used the spare money saved to futureproof for many generations ahead instead

Nah
youre trolling right
