When do you guys think the Oculus rift s will be on sale or lower in price
I know it's impossible to tell, but I want to know if I should get it, or just wait
If you can afford it, just get it. Waiting for sales is always a gamble
Can't imagine that cause VR is not for everyone
Newegg.com has MSI Radeon RX 5700 MECH OC 8GB Video Card + Select PC Digital Download Game + 3-Months Xbox Game Pass on sale for $359.99 - $40 off w/ promo code VGAPCJP667 - $20 Rebate = & ...
Newegg.com has MSI Radeon RX 5700 MECH OC 8GB Video Card + Select PC Digital Download Game + 3-Months Xbox Game Pass on sale for $359.99 - $40 off w/ promo code VGAPCJP667 - $20 Rebate = $299.99. Shipping is free. T
@thorn plinth No way dude. I legit just bought my Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 a week ago for 329.99 😭
Fml
Well, it's a $20 rebate
did it at least come with games
Oof, missed that part
If anyone can find a cheap 1TB HDD or one on sale that is good please @ me I’m looking for one
For anyone in Canada this is a great deal right now https://www.newegg.ca/zotac-geforce-gtx-1060-zt-p10620a-10m/p/N82E16814500454
Isn't 1650S $210 CAD or so?
@jolly valve look on used market. Lots of people just throw away hard drives for free since theyre running out of style
Ok @viscid pollen thanks
@subtle wing keep those kinds of things in #links-and-selfpromotion
Reason: Bad word usage
bye bye
oof. Troll?
Well that is rather unfortunate
rip
The real question is was he lying lol
they're just tall
Guys 1 question and i need it quick
Wat
What’s up
wow
Wht
good deals.
Yeah
i7 4770, i5 4590, GTX 770 2GB, two 180GB SSD's, and a Z170 motherboard. guy wants $225 for it, ima try for $200
Seems like a decent deal. I'm selling my buddy my old gaming rig (i5-4670k, GTX 770 2GB, 120GB Samsung 2.5" SSD, and an Asus Z87-A in an NZXT Phantom) for $200
Wait, I think it's a 4690k
But yeah, cutting him a deal so he can do some iRacing
I just want money for a new monitor
Playing on a 1080p 60hz with my 5700 XT is painful
sniped a 1x8 stick of ram, a kingston fury, for $20 shipped
i have another 1x8 of the same model
Nice
so i can get them paired up 😄
what's the best value upgrade for my i7 4770 platform?
Oof Idk i personally upgraded to a ryzen 5 3600x myself
Then hed need a new mobo
needs a new mobo in any case
pohemi! ltns
You right u right
Depends on where and what you get. Most amd ryzen s are on sale and micro center will pricematch plus if you get a mobo you get an additional 30$ off. I got a 2600 for 90 bucks. Idk if anyone else has a deal like that though.
Yeah i got no micro center near me
Micro center is my favorite tech brick and mortar store but it’s over an hour drive for me lol
Closest micro center for me is like 3 hours
better than me the closest one to me is 19 hours but i have a friend that is only 1 hour away so he can ship things to me 🙂
So y'all think it's time for me to ditch ddr3 eh? I gotta start saving up then...
can vouch for this mouse it's great
its only $30, so if anyone needs a good mouse, thats the way to go
anyone ever seen this company
80% keyboard
reviews got nothing but praise
https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-0003-00008?Description=e-element&cm_re=e-element-_-32N-0003-00008-_-Product if you can find this keyboard cheap, i'd say grab it, i use one and it's very comfortable and easy to learn the 81key layout
it also lets you switch the switches
just plug/unplug
so you can put very high end switches in this cheap keyboard
and also high end keycaps if you don't need the RGB
Or buy a cheap 5$ media keyboard and use this one for gaming https://www.newegg.com/p/2J5-00CP-00002
heh I've never really understood why people buy high end keyboards, I personally use a lenovo preferred pro i found in a dumpster
For quality and aesthetic
A E S T H E T I C
that is awesome.
those look pretty nice
that one has two space bars
but where are the deals on them
what the heck
nuu
nachos says all the keyboards
dud
🤢
are sade headsets good? newegg has massive sale on em for some reason (70% off)
boxing day sales it lookes like
but like. all of it is 70% off
maybe its just a markup to make it seem good deal?
like, is that good
honestly

Uh
any budget headset recommendation, sub 60
taht headset is usually sub $40 according to reviews
i knew it was susp, ahaa
@haughty mantle I have the Corsair HS50s, very solid build quality, very nice mic included, sound quality is good enough for $50
ooof
If you like to game like your life depends on it, the Corsair K68 RGB gaming keyboard is the piece of equipment for you. Keep your avatars alive and feel more like a part of the game with this mechanical gaming keyboard that features 100% gold-contact CHERRY MX mechanical swi...
is this good
yah
Just bought that K68 !! Quite happy with it
I now have no other choice than to have everything RGB on the computer ..
Is the k68 good?
does anyone have some good gaming mice recommendations, but like under $100?
You have a lot of choices then
any specific things that are really good
Where in the 100$ range woukd you like to be?
probably under $100
ok thx
mouses cost over 100?
Nice
i got it pretty cheap for like 20$ at best buy
Nice
it’s been pretty good for like a year
Anyone know of a cheap monitor with decent pixel count and at least 100hz?
I’ve seen plenty of 144hz monitors for like 200 but the pixel count was horrendous
2560 by 1080 and such
Pixel count/resolution*
I don’t want a monitor that looks blurry asf
All the good resolutions are either 60 hz or stupid expensive
100hz and cheap doesn't mix
if you want cheap you have to lower your standards to at least 75hz
@lone depot something like this as an example https://pcpartpicker.com/product/r366Mp/sceptre-e248w-19203s-238-1920x1080-75-hz-monitor-e248w-19203s
Is there anything good within 200-300 dollars
This is the cheapest 100hz monitor https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gVJtt6/viotek-gn34cw-340-3440x1440-100-hz-monitor-gn34cw
Resolution is strange
resolution for the second one is 1440p
so it is not strange
The only way you might find something cheap and that would be 144hz and lower would be on ebay or aliexpress
But that would be used or new from a company no one has ever heard of in north america
TN is like the basic really good for viewing straight on but not good for looking on the sides
meaning if you look at the side of the monitor instead of straight on it would look a little washed
But really no one looks to the side of the monitor rather they look straight at it
Was about to say that lol
I’m still suspicious about that monitor but I can’t see anything wrong with it
TN has like the basic amount of colors IPS has more than double the colors and VA is right in the middle
So is the monitor going to look really weird or will it be fine
It will be fine
Ok thanks
np
What about sceptre?
Ive heard people saying its a bad brand but they have good, low price monitors with good reviews
The 3 companies i trust is Samsung, LG and Viewsonic but that is because i have used them
Displays for Acer is not that bad cause my laptop is from Acer
OoF
but for most other companies out there i wouldn't know unless i tried them
US to PAL adapter
To plug into the wall?
There are universal plug adapters out there
ips is for graphic designer
@ripe mango not really
with ips technology they’re nearly as fast as tn panels and better colors
Well more vibrant brighter colors
i draw stickman on that screen and it looks awesome
yeah usually they use those or if they have money oled, ips is kind of the “best of all” monitor with a higher price tag
fight him xD
VA is just right in the middle of it all but i always say to test it out at a store first
VA is not for everyone cause for me it hurts my eyes
va is nice if your in budget
va is super cheap on my country... add freesync and 144hz 27 inch but va...
va has great contrast but a little worse ghosting and average color, and cheaper than ips
qled oled are good on playing horror games
not bad for $375
4790k
240mm aio
16GB DDR3
120 SSD / 2TB HDD
GTX 770 2GB
850W HX PSU
Corsair 600T
im going to put a vega 56 in it
and cable management right lol
and then sell it for like 900$ right
pulling the 770 out, thats worth $40, so im down to $335, and i toss in the v56 i spend $165 on, total cost to build is $500
It makes me sad someone sold that
try and get $600-$700 for it
Hey if i ever get to the point of tough times i would also sell my PC
MIght be? Def is
Good psu tho
does newegg always raise prices dramatically before a sale?
You know i am debating if i should trade my copy of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for Breath of the Wild for the Switch
i could put a 1080ti into it
and 32GB of ram
total my cost would be $770
could sell it for $1000
ehhhh
$1000 is pushing it
can ALMOST build a better system brand new for $1000
I am thinking about buying another R5 1400 for about 50$ with a A320 board and a 1050 Ti and sell it for like 450$ Canadian
I have a spare 16gb kit as well around that is 2400MHz
@torn basin What do you think
looks good to me
im not super familiar with canada's market
best thing i can say is this
Well 450$ Canadian is about 340$ US
build something on PCPP thats comparable in performance using all new parts.
buy the parts you want to buy at 50% or less of what the new system costs.
sell the used system you just built for 75% or more of what the new PC would cost
useful information
like this
modern system comparable in performance
to the PC i just bought
i paid $375
half of new cost is $383
if i put the effort in, i could probably sell the PC for $575 as is
which is 75% of new cost
BUT
i know i could build a more powerful system brand new with more efficient use of the money
so selling that PC at $575 doesnt seem fair to me
I like looking back on older hardware cause i know they're not dead yet
3rd and 4th gen i5/i7 i know those will last for another 4-6 years till no game would really work on them
4 thread processors are starting to really get phased out almost
the performance just isnt there
anything with 6-8 threads is ideal
so older i7's still have a long life
older i5's? not so much
FX 8000's will probably in the long run outlast quad core i5's
Well for a lot of games kids are playing like Fortnite 4 cores/threads would still be fine
well yeah, but again, in the next 4-6 years
who knows
lots of things are going more multicore
even today
stuff like battlefield 5 is using up to 20 threads effectively from what ive seen
ya which is why i am looking forward to seeing Intel's 10th gen's
As much as i like AMD right now for their CPU's if the i5 6 core 12 thread CPU does amazingly well i would go back to Intel
release a 9600k with hyperthreading at $200
and call it a 10600k
intel will be back on top with best price/performance
lol
Well i just want to see the performance for the i5 vs the r5
9600k is a bit faster than the 3800x
But isn't that for single thread?
Ya i saw new tests for the 3950X in gaming and the 9700K does better by a lot
@torn basin faster in average perf but worse in lows. Heck, 9600k even loses to 3600 in lows
look at how many GPUs are in the background of the listing photo

my brother lost his old earbuds
and then I accidentally found this
idk what to make of it
1 review and 3rd party seller ouch
Yeah no
nvm it's freaking chinese
there are certain Chinese brands worth looking for though, especially for value oriented buyeres
buyers*
KZ and Little Dot are some of the higher rated companies, and KZ especially makes good budget earbuds
thats only 4ct/8t right?
its comparable to the 4770k in terms of performance
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16834235236 decent deal or helll naw
(yes i know the 4 gig is the one to go with)
With just a 256gb ssd, ull be quite limited, so if there's a 2.5" slot for another drive then maybe consider it
As for the pc in general
Or laptop rather, meh
I played on PC for 3 years with a 250 gig ssd
Wouldn't recommend it at all, get more storage, it was super cancer trying to play triple A titles since they are up to 100 gbs to download
Call of Duty is 164gb its a pain i have a 500 and 1TB and they are both full
jesus
gotta see those war expression in hd xD
I found someone who is selling their 1080ti for 550 if anyone wants it
He had it at 800 but he's a simp
too much still
Eh, you can get a new 2070 Super for that which is equal or slightly better in some games
get the 1070ti its only 250
5700 xt
Is the r5 2600 a good upgrade for i7 4770?
Not really
I'm finding xplane takes up about 50% CPU and OBS the other 50
Would it help with recording?
What GPU do you have?
nVidia GPU would solve a lot of your problems
NVENC encoding to let the GPU do the encoding/recording work
Does the gtx GPU have to be the primary video output to use nvenc?
No
I have a 1050ti I can plug in as a dummy gpu
Cool I'll try it out
Has some issues with MS Store games but it works
Forza?
Yeah
K I don't play that
Something about disabling the 1050, starting up the game, and enabling the 1050 again I think
Well, it's not just that
it's any MS Store game
Hmmm
It was defaulting to the nVidia GPU
I'll have to check if my games are Ms store
Ya
What if they're cross platform? Like they're on the Ms store but also on steam
Steam would be less headache, no switching GPU's but either works
Ok I'll try it out this weekend, thanks for the tip
YW
Also, 1070 is good fit for my CPU?
das cheap
ikr
oh wait isn't the AF variant the one that's actually 12nm?
I think it costs a bit more than the actual 1600. maybe like, by $20. not sure whether it's worth if or not though
You should get the 2600, it is the same price and has better clock speeds
or that
yeah I'd just get the 2600
Yeah I actually just ordered some parts a few days ago, I am waiting for one more thing to come in the mail
what the heck that's so cheap
no Prime shipping but that's definitely worth the wait imo
get it, it overclocks to 4.2 GHz
it comes with the stealth cooler that the only downside. Yeah for a second or budget system the AF 1600 is the way to go \
I already have a normal 1600 though
I don't think $85 is worth it. probably just a 5% increase at most
4c 8t
ehh
already have a 3600
hard pass if youre on a budget
I don't even need this 3600 lol. I haven't had anything hit it too hard at all
and yeah that's true
i love s budgets
budget builds you usually have about 70-100 dollars for a cpu
no
sub 400
I build budget systems for people in my area and people are hard set on a 500 or less budget
Usually x3470 and rx570
Good
@earnest epoch , awww we should send that guy some money for bills. That stinks to see that.
Where are y'all finding these Facebook marketplace deals, all I can find are scalpers
I find them all day long. It's because people in my state dont buy PCs I guess. More part for me.
that guy above told me he would take 300 cause he is seriously in need of money for bills im sure youll have to pay shipping also it shouldnt be more than 35$
Holy crap I'd love that GPU
His price is high... specially without a cpu.
I guess it's not horrible.... but for some random parts with unknown warranty or life on them, I dont know...
$180-200 gpu
$100 - psu
$20- cooler
$40 - motherboard
$50 - ram
I am ashamed I wheezed at that.
lol.
Yuh
Reason: Bad word usage
@cloud notch no selling
i might not be able to sell you... but uhaul sure will 😛
@somber arch My dad is a vendor for U-hual and we sell boxes all the time
@flat swift an interesting obstacle has appeared
I have installed my gtx 1050 to (fan spin), but win 10 only recognizes my rx480
to
Might be a driver issue
Is this a decent deal or just build a computer my self?
https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/sys/d/pittsburgh-modern-rgb-gaming-pc-i7/7036269174.html
or this one instead
https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/sys/d/glenshaw-nzxt-custom-pc-build/7034244221.html
@cursive umbra the first one is a hella good deal
@lone depot its what i was thinking but the bottom one has a dope monitor coming with it but its also 1100 more so
Yeah I dont think the monitor is worth the extra 1100 dollars
there are plenty of good monitors under 500
@lone depot @cursive umbra Not really good deals considering
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dqZ8HB
https://www.pcswaps.com/product/5e0e32e9e7b1fd3cab4b1222 thoughts on this deal?
@prime hemlock I honestly wouldn’t buy that
Almost equivalent, still 100 dollars cheaper and you build it yourself
@austere dirge I don't want to build it, so does the markup seem legit?
Again, I wouldn’t buy a "prebuilt" from individual sellers
If you want to get a prebuilt try buying from known companies to make sure you get all you want in your PC
And honestly, this isn’t a great deal
well if you get something equivalent from a "prebuilt" manufacturer they run ~$1k. so that seems like a load of crap to me.
Something equivalent to that for 1k ?
This is equivalent or even better than what u sent and it’s cheaper and a mouse and keyboard comes with it
ABS is also a pretty decent brand for prebuilt systems normally
Windows comes with it too
My bad lol, it’s 0.01 dollars cheaper
i guess it's always on sale as well.
What about this one
You can find prebuilt systems on sale on Newegg pretty often I would say
Keeping an eye on the 500-750 bucks section is worth it
4790k/z97 krait/16gb ram
240aio, 120ssd/2tb hdd
GTX 770, 850w psu, Corsair 600t
Picked it up for $375
Kinda rough
Shape
Case was painted really bad
But, swap out that 770, with one of my spare v56's
Should be able to sell the PC for around $750
Wow that was a great deal
I'd imagine every social media outlet.
So I need a good computer but I only have 600, may someone help me?
Sure!
This just computer? No peripherals tight?
Right?
Take a look at the r5 1600af and gtx 1660s @alpine kelp
They make a good match that will fit into that budget, if you don't mind getting used, gtx 1070 is a very fine option too
Ok
Yea I’d be fine with it
Im trying to get into pc gaming
But due to some money “dissipering” I only have $400
Well, r5 1600af 1660s or 1070 would be my recommendation
At $400 it won't work, but it will fit into $500-600
Would you like me to assemble a basic pcpartpicker list for you?
Hey what the best rx 5700 card to buy from Radeon?
@marsh socket I think you mean from AMD
Yeah getting blower anything is pretty bad in my opinion
So many great deals in here I can’t keep up.
Yo? SLI 1080x2 or 2070 idk what’s the cons with crossfire
Crossfire is for amd, sli is for nvidia
Yeah ok anyways is it good
Is this worth it for $1604
The only thing I feel sketch about is the power supply
But the case is worth it a lot it comes with 6 fans
That's worth about $1100 maybe, in the USA
no brand eh? that looks pretty good
rtx 2070s will destroy everything except 4k max settings, and i7 9700k, though a bit pointless considering ryzen, is still very strong for gaming
theres a lot of pointless stuff on that list like wtf mopad and projector?
and that cooler should be replaced with a 240mm aio that isn't cooler master's bargain bin offerings
6 ll fans + controller tho @floral lance , thats like $150
they definitely cheaped out on storage tho
So I'm getting into pc gaming and after putting all the parts into a Amazon shopping list it's only 690
@balmy root no.
buying a pc for 375 to then swap a 400 dollar gpu in and then sell that build for 750, that's ludicrous
even if you had it "laying around" or not lol
Anyone building a pfsense/OPNsense/unraid router/firewall or just want a cheap way to get bonded quad gigabit over copper for a NAS/homelab.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/9YD6K-09YD6K-DELL-INTEL-I350-T4-4-PORT-GIGABIT-SERVER-ADAPTER-W-BOTH-BRACKET/254209259042
Walmart has a really good deal on Beyerdynamic dt 1990 pros rn
FX 6120
8GB DDR3
GT 710
500GB HDD
@blissful hazel
i have a spare GTX 770
toss that in
ez resale for like $150~
It's a 6120 not a 8370 >_<
@west badge fx6000 cpus are room heaters, I think you're referring to furnaces?
my old phenom II x4 970 sure was one
fx4000= hot plate, fx6000= room heater, fx8000= furnace, fx9000= the actual sun
Tfw used to have a 6300
Good CPU but it was time for an upgrade
Now I has i5 9600k
what a nice tech deal
@torn basin boi what? Free? How? You do YouTube and stuff?
i don't want to buy an expensive nvidia card so i can drive that monitor
it's the high end g-sync hardware
so it doesn't work with the general adaptive sync stuff
it's a nice monitor though
@atomic finch nvidia is adding freesync support to g-sync, not sure if that one is new enough
VESA Adaptive Sync standard is based on the old FreeSync, NVIDIA should just support that and use that
FreeSync itself will just be phased out probably
it'll support DP and HDMI 2.1 or higher
the VESA standard
There's no point in buying a 2080 super if I am playing on a 1920x1080 and I would be getting a 2070 super
Because if I got a 2080 super I couldn't even play on 4k cause I have a 1920x1080 resolution monitor
Am I right or wrong?
Right
@tidal bear a 2080s is also good for high refresh on ultra settings at 1080p, what's your monitor refresh?
Depending on the game ultra settings at 1080p even a 2070s might struggle to hit 144
If you care about that spesific scenario
Not sure my brother gave me the monitor for my birthday last year
The stuff it says on the monitor BENQ XL2411
Or XL24LL
Pretty sure it's first one tho
Well you can check the monitor refresh in either the Nvidia control panel ot Radeon software
My computer is in repair rn the power supply went out and my brother is ordering the party
But they have been taking way too long
And I was looking at a new PC my parents were gonna get me a PC that I pick out and they probably gonna give me it on my birthday
Cause my birthday is on the 28th
Happy early birthday
happy early birthday :)
Freesync is the trade name for VESA's VRR tech, it's royalty free. edit, nvm, backwards
Happy early birthday!
So uh, why has the price of the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Extreme gone up $240????
I was gonna get it but now the price doesn't seem worth it
On Newegg? Because it's not sold and shipped by Newegg, it's a third party
Geekbench?
Hey guys! I was wondering if any of you could give me some suggestions on a laptop to buy under 700 dollars. I'd use it primarily for studying and doing some computer science research and programming development.
Thank you in advance😊
@warm junco there is this https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16834846150
has touch, 15" display, and is light for ease of use
also has the R5-3500U
4c8t i think
8300H is also 4 core 8 thread
yes, that also exists
and the i5 is better than the R5
the mobile ryzen not so good?
mobile is good but for better CPU performance the i5 is better
about 30% better in performance
@atomic finch @west badge they are surely a good fit but I was thinking about something a bit smaller than a 15.6 inch laptop because I plan to move a lot with it
Is there something similar to these specs but a bit smaller?
I was thinking about the Lenovo flex 14 but I'm not totally sure about that laptop
Does newegg price match themselves? I bought 2 kits of RAM a few days and 4 hours ago and I got an email from insider saying they are on sale on insider. Would they update the price of my purchase?
https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000E-0DDH7 14" and pretty good specs
@warm junco
@radiant sky if you already bought it they wont refund it unless you return it first for a refund and then buy them again
@west badge Thanks!
np
@atomic finch 3000 and under Ryzen isn't that competitive on the mobile side. Their R7 is 4c/8t following more or less the old Intel i3/i5/i7
i see
Ryzen 4000 though will be an interesting comparison
They just spoke about them at CES, so probably middle or late this year i would assume. No hard date though
Seems though Asus is using them now though in their laptop lineups
Well I may have been wrong a bit. Seeing some articles where it says laptops running on r4000 CPU's will start launching next month
https://parkersburg.craigslist.org/sys/d/parkersburg-custom-gaming-pc-7-fully/7050395381.html
Is this a good deal or just a goofy one I honestly can't tell anymore
absolute trash
TWIN GPU's
SLI in 2020 bruh
using SLI as a marketing scheme is basically a sin today
man couldn't even clean out his system
Um that says it has a 4th gen not a 5th gen i7
5th gen is a 5775C
I think they skiped a x000
oh wait yeah it's 4th gen
but it still makes it more of a trash deal lmao
4790K can actually last for another 5 years
doesn't matter how much nm it has the performance is still there and also since it is a 4790K it can be overclocked which can make it last longer
I know people that are still using i7 970 and it is still pretty strong
thats depressing
Reason: Bad word usage
Oops
oof
I think the 980s are the problem but I'm thinking about just lowballing him
But even then upgrading it would most likely be a nightmare
the 980s are even with the i7 but they would make the system GPU bound because of the games we have today
for a grand you could build like a Ryzen 5 1600 with a 1660 Ti instead and it would perform better
or even a R5 2600
a 980 is pretty much the 6gb 1060 in performance
oh, really?
oof
is a rx 5700 xt for 250-300 a good deal
that's a scam lol
is it a good deal
if it's legit, that's a bargain
it is
If you plan on streaming though would be best to go with Nvidia
I prefer multi-system CPU streaming
its an msi gaming x
absolute bargain
that GPU goes for more than 400USD
For AMD best to go with Sapphire or PowerColor
Im not even gonna oc
We never mentioned overclocking
listen, I went with a Gigabyte G1 RX 480 as my first GPU. it can't be worse lmaooo
its not that bad
I doubt it's that bad
Who needs to go to the kitchen for breakfast when a MSI Gaming X RX 5700 XT can fry your eggs
or a G1 Gaming
Still would rather go for the best of the best
I’m pretty sure more people stream with a CPU though
I know a bunch of streamers that does GPU
the only ones i know that doesn't do GPU's uses capture cards
So you would be able to have a 3200G with a 5700 and stream without any issues
wait is red devil gpu bad
@velvet wing depends on what GPU
also remember red devil would be the card, not the GPU
@austere dirge good deal. Buy it
Any recommendations for a wifi card for mobos that dont support wifi?
@austere dirge buy that immediately
Can’t buy it lol
Oh just read that. That sucks :(
Could buy it and resell for more if you wanted to
Bah nvm
I’ll get it
Nah*
It’s a golden deal and if my friend finds another person to sell it to I’m toast 😂
Have to get it
@lone depot my cousin got the rx 580 red devil gpu
yeah that's not a great card
whats not great about it
Red Devil is usually excellent but the Red Devil versions of RX 500 series weren't
like whats wrong with em
PCB and VRM aren't great quality, neither is the cooler
On the other hand, the Red Devil versions of Vega and Navi are absolutely delightful
but the polaris cards are not
Polaris is great for 1080p
Oh I'm not complaining about Polaris itself
Specifically the red devil versions of polaris
understandable
the RX 570 is still the best value graphics card to buy new
but not the red devil one?
that's the idea
im not sure exactly what he got but it runs as well as my 970 lol
my issue with it is its frigging bulky
but it doesnt run hot or mess up on anything
also if you ever want to buy used that's always a good idea
depending on where you live
ebay buyer protection is very extreme
basically you can isis-style execute the seller even if you have no actual reason, let alone if something is genuinely wrong
i mean im not looking to upgrade anytime soon myself
i just did a lot of upgrades
i just saw you said red devils are bad and my cousin got one so i was tryna figure out why lol
In general they're good, just not the Polaris cards
So long as the mobo is cheap then good. But 1600 AF is $85
80 is what i got my dads 4690k for
yeah. So platform price is good but CPU price is bad. Total cost still good tho
I mean those cpus have been around for how long and still perform extremely well
4770/4790 is on par with a 2600 in terms of gaming performance
and ive got lots of spare 4gb and 8gb dimms of DDR3
Same in gaming, but worse in everything else. Effectively making the CPU price alone bad (tho as I said, platform price makes up for that)
$130 for a solid midrange gaming platform
vs buying a 1600 af for $85, trying to find any AM4 board for $50~, then $40 for 16GB ram
i7's sell a lot better too
more name recognition for people
@torn basin Don't forget a cooler
Y'all really be BC mining over here
I dont remember the 4690k stock cooler
I replaced it with an off brand cooler that actually turned out to be one of the best air coolers Ive ever owned
The Super Quiet titan dragonfly
Loooks pithly but honestly, it keeps a 4690k OCed to 4.4ghz at 70c max under 30 mins of load
Whoa. You sharing?
Just an FYI, LTT has the G3 listed under D+, potentially dangerous on their PSU list. The G+ is good
Ya, for sure
thats cheaper than i get my W1 600W's for
I mean at those prices, doesn't really matter. It's not like they're gonna asplode or catch on fire
also
getting a 980ti classified
and two i5 4590s's
for $200 + shipping
SO EXCITED
Didn't Silv want Demon to build her a gaming PC
🤷
I remember last time on Tech in around she saw your builds @torn basin and said that she wanted a build from you lol
cause all those computers/parts you find so such a low price
i mean sure
lol
im down
the only "high end" rig i got right now would either be a 4790k/1080ti build or a R5 1600/1080ti build
how do you
but where are the dual 2080tis?
I mean 2080tis dont usually go on sale
-100% off sale maybe

@torn basin The G3 is bad due to a bad protection setup
It's unlikely to happen, but component failure causing a short of some sort can cause a catastrophic failure making the PSU short other components
XD
I'd rather get a safe PSU for more, but meh
because $20 to save your $500+ investment seems good
thats you then, thanks for your worthless opinion. 😄
There is nothing bad about the G3
OCP
It is not like he got that Corsair PSU if i remember the CX models that caught on fire
green label CX were bad if you overloaded them, or even tried using close to their advertised wattage
still useable
what people like you dont know @finite fjord is actually the problem with the G3 units, you just hear from some idiot "oh they are bad" so you spread that mis information everywhere
the problems that the G3 line has, has 0 effect on any sane person using any of the units
you dont go out and buy a 650W G3 and then expect it to run a 1000W system
their OPP is set too high
so it allows lower wattage rated units to push much higher wattage
unsafely
without shutting down
arent those the older ones? the green cx
no sane person is buying a 550W or 650W PSU and loading it with 850W or 1000W of power and expecting it to work fine
they also have OTP set a bit too high, but, thats not a big deal, just dont break your PSU fan
they are 80+ gold units
heat generally isnt ever going to be an issue
unless your fan dies or you intentionally break your PSU.
if you're not stupid, the G3 line is safe, lol. you dont buy a 550W PSU and expect it to run 850-1000W safely
Pfft lmao
the 750W, and other high wattage rated CX green labels, at the time, your average mid range/high end gaming PC easily could pull that much power
and they were a budget option
Man he really got to you
unfortunately, those high wattage rated green label CX were not actually capable of sustained wattage output that they were advertised at
and would fail
because of that
VS is just, idk, very budget, cuts corners, but fine for low power systems
like, i wouldnt run a midrange PC on one
but its fine for extreme entry level
or office type computers
Understandable
they are mediocre at best, but, still get the job done, just not what you should be buying for a gaming PC tbh
my brother is using a corsair HX1000W for his 2600 and rx570
how much did he buy it for again zack 🤔
3 dollars
yeah basically less than 3 dollars
wait what
$450 total (not including the case and psu because we already had those)
why don't u swap psus with him
psu swap yay
that psu is chunky, it wouldnt fit in my case, also i dont need more than 650w
well that would be a pain in the a** nevermond
Anyone want 650W gold fully modular
I already got one
noice
@torn basin oh no, I just try to remember which PSUs lose protections and cant remember the however many damn PSUs there are and every single spec. Because trying to remember all widely known PSU models out there and get confused with OCP and OTP for one, single, model is totally unreasonable
with rgb
oh dang, you set
my psu can handle 4000w
breathe in................................. breathe oooouuutttttt
This is my cue to leave oh no
if you're going to say something is not safe to use and is really bad to buy? you should be willing to spend the time to actually know what you're talking about before saying stupid things and spreading mis information. if you dont know, just dont say anything, lol. @finite fjord
We all make mistakes, it happens.
It's called not properly remembering something I already looked at before man. Tell me, your entire life from year 0 to now, missing not one single detail in the slightest. Doesnt seem realistic right?
justifying spreading misinformation because you were too lazy to double check your info before you made a comment?
WOW, thats a great excuse. good one
Chill it out now. Last warning.
should bookmark it @finite fjord
demonmit, i told you to stop.
They made a mistake and owned up to it, leave it at that.
i am? thats the source. there is good info there to learn from.
the man is providing info
suggesting that they bookmark it implied that you were still going at it
at least thats how i took it
can yall at least bring it dm's not tech deals if you want to continue it please
"get confused with OCP and OTP", pretty sure you'd know with what I said that I knew that already
but sure
tbh its a valid suggestion, there are a lot of people that are misinformed on how the G3 units work. quick access to testing data and facts is quite useful, like, not even trying to be smart about it, lol, i bookmark a lot of it myself so i can double check myself before i say something that might not be true.
alright, thats fair, i just wanted to make sure you werent fueling the argument
lets switch the subject now
i didnt know rosewill made this lmao
lots of very useful information i can share in their respected channels if someone wants
¯_(ツ)_/¯
