Sure but be ready to get lower than 60 FPS in some games
I don't get why that gigabyte monitor is so good for the price
That monitor is really good for the price imo
Is a rn panel good though
Not really
nemsis is hdr good?
Does the gigabyte one have freesync
Ooo ok
I don't have lots of knowledge on HDR, but I think it's only good for games that supports it?
Yes
ok
But HDR won't have a negative impact as far as I know
ok
if you don't use it*
What are good panel types
is there a difference between that monitor and the one I have now
I have 75hz 1080p
which one? The Gigabyte?
yes
Hell yes
IPS > VA > TN from what I've been told, and experienced
Ok
yeah I just looked it up I think that tn is the worst one
and va is a mix between both
well, the resolution is better, higher refresh rate, and most likely a better panel? I don't know what your monitor is atm
Frick is the gigabyte one limited sale
it's coming out in 2 weeks
I think this is mine
maybe gigabyte one will be even cheaper on black friday or cyber monday
maybe regional pricing makes it more expensive
oh
Oh there's a promo for 30 off for my
I live in texas and for me on amazon it is $310 and newegg is $320
it must be because of regions
ok
I'd buy it if I didn't buy a new monitor recently
Yes
Ok it’s in my budget too yay
Like I said, I'd buy it if not for me spending money on a new one recently ^^
So i was looking for the OPTIX MAG274QRF but could litterally find it nowhere
it is on the MSI webpage but no where else
Was wondering if anyone could help
What was it shroud talking abouth last night 2k 240hz ?
I have asus vg27aq
Wanna go 4k 144hz tho
But need to see new amd gpus performance values
@smoky smelt Im planning to buy that today too
supposidly the samsung odyssey g7 gsync flicker was fixed with a new firmware update that came out yesterday and adds an option in system menu for vrr
mine is coming back from samsung tomorrow cause i rma'd it tho hah
if it is fixed its an amazing monitor, the only issue was the gsync flicker
How's the situation with 4k high refresh rate these days?
are most monitors gsync compatible without saying they are or?
I'm not 100% sure on that, but I think I heard something like AMD's Freesync supports Nvidia cards
hi, does anyone have recomendations for a 144hz budget monitor?
What kind of budget do you have? and what resolution?
sceptre usually has budget 1080p 144hz monitors around 150
Are gigabyte monitors good?
depends on the specific monitor
I've been looking at the g32qc
buy from acer refurbished
i have one and i love it
I've been looking for one that is 1440p
@maiden wedge what's your budget?
Is $350 good?
@maiden wedge i can do better that 350 https://acerrecertified.com/acer-ed3-27-widescreen-lcd-monitor-full-hd-1920-x-1080-5ms-60-hz-250-nit-vertical-alighnment-va-ed273ur-pbidpx/
@maiden wedge this one works too https://acerrecertified.com/acer-lcd-widescreen-monitor-27-display-wqhd-screen-free-sync-1-ms-led/
what do you think?
@maiden wedge hears a bigger one https://acerrecertified.com/acer-xz-31-5-widescreen-monitor-display-144hz-amd-free-sync-16-9-xz321qu-bmijpphzx/
This one looks nice
https://acerrecertified.com/acer-predator-x35-35-gaming-monitor-3440x1440-180-hz-21-9-2ms-gtg-600-nit-x35-bmiphzx/#product-custom-fields
look AT THE PRICE!!!!!
200hz though
oooOOOoooo comes with conflicting specifications
10 times better
the price
the 4k high refresh rate monitors are really lacking
I don't know why I couldn't find the 4k displays on the acer site
XV273K PBMIIPPHZX
That model looks pretty good
4k 144hz
the price
@untold trout look at the Nit tho
It'll look kinda sad with an actual high quality monitor next to it
hey anyone got some advise for me, I decided to mount my monitor and when i was unscrewing the stand something got loose inside the monitor and is rattling around, probably some loose metal, should I take my monitor apart and remove this before i turn on again?
i have the asus vg248qe
I would advise you check with their customer support
If anything goes wrong and you opened the monitor it may represent a problem when it comes to warranty
Alright, thanks for info
@normal dragon I would open it up and shake the screw out
or piece of solder or what ever it is
could cause arcing
@zealous wigeon alright, I was going to contact support but the monitor is probably wayy out of warranty by now
yeah its probably just a piece of solder and shouldnt be to hard to shake out once you take a panel off
I need help finding a 27inch 240hz 1080p monitor under 300$
How much is a 1080 240hz
?
yo guys can someone help me find a budget-ish monitor
1080p 120/144hz?
wait lemme look at the current price of it
Monitor 2:
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824737012
ok
just search in dollars thats fine
im lookin for 1440p 144hz w/ g sync. Any recommendations?
ok thanks!
Oh well G27q sold out, weird 3rd party seller, so M27q.
@sullen dock here
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012018
If you need it to be cheaper, just ask
would you say there is a big difference btwn 144 and 170 hz?
there's a slight difference
bc if i can get a 144 hz for cheaper that would be better
but the panel is just great in all the ways imo
hmm ok
I would tell you Gigabyte G27q at 320$, but it's sold out by Newegg, and it's a weird 3rd party seller
M27q has higher refresh rate panel, better color reproduction, built in KVM switch if you ever need that.
ok thanks ill take a look at it
hi
What's a good monitor for around 200 dollars
Nice
yas
@sterile kite lmao nice name
yes
Also nice pfp
both stolen
From the Mormons
yes
L
Alot have bought the gigabyte monitor ngl
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/bjxbt6/asus-tuf-gaming-vg27aql1a-270-2560x1440-170-hz-monitor-vg27aql1a I'm waiting for the price to drop on this
Is the gigabyte g32qc a reliable monitor?
Damn :/
Been looking for a high refresh rate that I can use the new Xbox and eventual pc
At 1440p and my current monitor size is 32"
what is good 165hz gaming monitor around 140- 180 dollars
check this
unfortunately not alot of 165 hz monitor fit in ur budget
i only found this 1
just goes offline after asking for help lmao
is gigabyte known for dead pixels and bad quality control?
what is a good 1080p 144hz monitor
i am new to gaming
but just bought gtx 1070 and intel core i7 9700k
its great
and super cheap
its also 21.5 inches, so its got better pixel density than other 1080p displays
also better for fps games because there's more monitor in your peripheral vision
ok , thx
quick note, the actual stand is crap, but it does the job
ok
it is 130 after all lol
Bruh 5ms
is it worth spending more on something like a acer xfa240 if i am on a budget
is 5ms even noticable
Yes
I've heard it is, but also if you're not a super competitive gamer it's probably not worth it lol
Honestly for me it was just noticing and annoying
I don’t necessarily need 1ms or 2ms, but it’s a lot better and feels better than 5
ok
If so, I got a 1-2ms response monitor, and I would recommend.
I don't have one, but TN panel and 350Nit is eh for 300CAD. I'd spend 100$ more for an IPS monitor personally
ok
I can recommend this one if it's in your budget
but this is from my order history, I'm sure some can find better prices
I could help looking, but I'm currently at work ^^
ok well u should work
Saw that price and then saw it was ca
I just grabbed something quick from my order history for a reference point ^^
no bad words
Congrats dude, I hope you enjoy it!
||and yes, please edit it ^^||
srry, my bad
anyone know a good 144 hz 1080p monitor for about 200
5ms response time doe
meaningless marketing term
fyi i own that monitor
and have been using it for like a year
Is it curved?
I ws looking at this jus wasnt sure if there was a better option
but are those differences worth 50 dollars?
yea 22 inch monitors are too small lol
its really noticable to me lol
you want a smaller display, its a benefit
its like 24 vs 27 it doesnt seem like a lot but is when u see it
you can see more in your peripheral vision
My main monitor is a 27
higher pixel density
I need a secondary
do u care abt anything other than matching size
No I meant I’m looking at the 2 you guys sent
getting monitors with identical pixel densities is reeeallly nice
ahhhhh
my laptop screen is my secondary rn lmao
getting monitors with identical pixel densities is reeeallly nice
@sage trail okay so where do I figure that out
Oof
Yeah I want a smaller one
just as a side monitor to toss things?
so you have a 1080p 27" monitor rn, correct?
or is it 1440p
That sounds horrendous
If it's literally stricly for chat, I don't see why you'd need 16:9 tbf
I do graphic design and game design too, but the reason I’m getting it is so I can easily see chat
Yeah I feel that, was just a cheaper idea
Yeah makes sense
@elfin crater verticals are very nice
it can look like this
(a vertical next to a regular @elfin crater)
Oh nice
and depending on what you use your machine for, the one i posted a pic from is used for reading a fair deal of documentation.
which the vertical is VERY nice for
I have the same set up, i have a 24" vertical and a 27" horizontal curved for gaming
I only use verticals for work
recomendation for 4k gaming monitors?
this one is pretty nice
only 60hz but if you are gaming at 4k that wont matter unless you have a 3090
yeah, what about for one at 1440 at a higher refresh rate, suggestions?
sweet, could you give me like maybe one more if it's not too much work, just so i have choices, i feel like you have a better understanding than i do
alrighty, ill do some looking
sweet, a curvy boi
Gigabytes g27qc is not bad if looking for curves in the 250-350 range.
if i wanna do a dual display 1(144hz 24-27inch) and 2(60-75hz 20-24) under 260 could someone help me with suggestions
the 60-75hz is gonna be vertical
that's tough, way above my knowledge
alr
id go with the more expensive bc of response time and refresh rate, although at that close you'd hardly notice the difference
plus the more expensive has usb c if you'd use it
yeah, so personally, cheaper better, but overall, expensive better
Preferably under 400
Would there be any hdr ones in that price range. I like the idea of an ultra wide too not sure if there’s one cause most are 500+
uhh
Imagine ultrawide being 2 1440p monitors slapped together
that's why they cost so much
because it's big
Yeah hats what it says
it's got 350nits average peak brightness tho
I think it was the Viewsonic prime or something that had 400nits and hdr400 certification
lemme go find it
it's got worse refresh rate and slightly worse colors but if you really want HDR...
not viewsonic, this thing
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824737006
pixio prime
close nuff
HDR is only useful for hdr content correct? It won’t make regular games and content look better?
Mhm
HDR is only for stuff that supports it
it's like specifically making some things really dark some things really bright
And that’s why lighting zones make a difference to what cert they get huh
Okay thanks!
ok so if so if anyone is going for a monitor, the samsung odyssey g7 gsync flicker is fixed
its an amazing monitor, and that was the only issue with it
Size?
I still don't know if to go for the g32qc or save the extra $100 for an Asus tuf one
Can you use any hdmi tv as a monitor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DK5PZFY/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_VTZOFb78F6DYX?psc=1 because i saw this in a ltt video and it was good and its cheaper than most monitors.
If your gpu has an hdmi port
i use a tv as a second monitor
i would rather have an actual monitor but i had the tv lying around
ok then is the one i sent good
cuz in the ltt video he said it was good and it lookd good
but that can be the camera
???
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DK5PZFY/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_VTZOFb78F6DYX?psc=1 because i saw this in a ltt video and it was good and its cheaper than most monitors.
@smoky smelt
Oh
Tv hmm
did he say it was good as a monitor or as a tv?
tv
but he also says that monitors are just small tv lol
the response time on my tv is massive and it has some bad screen door-ing
oh god
its also LED so thats good
so far its rlly good right
also 4k
in total, is it good\
if you're gonna use it for any kind of competitive gaming, that response time would be a dealbreaker for me
it says on the philips website that it's 60hz
bruh
60hz and 5ms
i searched up 144hz
do you require 4k ips?
i tried searching ive settled on one already
lemme send it
ViewSonic 32-inch Curved 1440p 144Hz FreeSync Monitor VX3258-2KC-MHD its LED backlight on eBay
its new but has a small crack on the corner of a bezle
its 280 bucks
and has speakers
i know i saw it
and im going for anything better than 1080p
so the next step is 1440p right
and its curved
@eager sinew can do cheaper with G27q when it's not on a 3rd party seller again.
yeah
That's what I want the g27q but I may downgrade to a 1080p 24 ips monitor
G27q on amazon for 339
1 instock rn
it was 320$ on newegg sad
It was 289 on newegg for a couple days and I am sad I didn't buy it
Yeah I want a ips and i am not a fan of curved screens personally
o ya that thing too
@visual pilot Yeah I'm waiting for a sale, was mostly curious if it's a good monitor or not
Specs seemed alright
meh
I'm looking for something to match my ultrawide. unsure if gigabyte would
B
Why wouldn't they be reliable..?
letter
Lol
is the Alienware AW2518HF monitor gud
The assu Tuf VG27AQL1A monitor has been the best monitor ive owned so far if anyone cares to check it out https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG27AQL1A-Supports-Compatible-DisplayPort/dp/B088MLC8PH/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1UGHF85Y380PK&dchild=1&keywords=asus+tuf+27+inch+monitor+165hz&qid=1604548248&sprefix=asus+tuf+27%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-4
What's the difference between the g27q and m27q?
@maiden wedge m27q is basically the ad27qd apparently according to someone on reddit the m27q has 170hz .5ms built in kvm a good ips panel for $360
guys can you make any monitor vertical
yes
ye
@silk forge So expensive though 😩
Think I'd rather get this (when it goes on sale) https://www.amazon.com/Dell-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor-S2719DGF/dp/B00N2L5CXO
that one looks really good
I've been looking for monitors over 1080p I hope that one goes on sale soon
umm no
not at all
either u havent plugged it in correctly or the monitor is faulty and doesnt sense incoming signals
by the loks of it u need a new monitor
@maiden wedge Wouldn't 1440p 144hz be more enticing? I bet some will disagree, but I feel like 240hz is very situational if you don't have the hardware. You'll only be able to take advantage of it in games like "csgo, lol, etc"
I mean, I know how it works.. But you are paying extra for 240hz, and if you don't need 1440p "that much", I'd be impressed if you needed 240hz "that much" ^^
But you do you man
I'd say the specs are looking good
Nothing negative to say about it personally
Go for it! I hope you enjoy it!
hello
Can anyone recommend a zero latency hdmi to vga converter
https://youtu.be/sU_UITZtlbs wanna try doing something similar to this on the crt vga monitor I just picked up yesterday
PS4 HDMI to VGA, lag free, on a 31 kHz VGA PC CRT Monitor! We talk about the obvious reasons as to why you would want to play ports of 90's arcade games on a 4:3 aspect ratio CRT, and we talk about why even late 90's/early 2000's VGA CRT monitors have many advantages over mode...
Yo 300 for 1080 what's it do
Can anyone recommend a budget 144hz 1440p monitor around 300
Isn’t the viewsonic 1440 144 about 300?
anyone got reviews for the g27q? it seems like a decent monitor but hard to find reviews for it
Does anyone know a good moniter for a 1650 MSI GPU but not too expensive
@copper hemlock i found reveiws on it and it says t decent with 144hz refresh rate
why can't i show links?
Copy and paste the link
Probably ur rank in the server
the benq 144 is a good one
but there are 2 models
one without dyac and with dyac
dyac reduces montion blur by a lot
motion*
and for 300$ i think it's worth it
yeah im tring to go budget so i can convince my dad
Its looks good ill see but ill save this one on a list and keep searching in case
well it depends what games are you playing
if you play esports titles this is the one
nothing to extreme like cod just like among us or ya know small games
Noice
frick me 3k hrs in cs go and i'm still poop
No worrs i play cod for two years im still bad
i play since 2016
dang
try gsync compatible samsung odyssey g7 theres 27 inch and 32 inch but kind of pricey
240hz 1ms
10 bit w/ 2000 series and up otherwise its 8 bit 240hz
its va nice contrast very bright hdr600
what do you think about this one ? https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B08HJ2T1JK/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1
I might go with that one
or if you don't care too much about dyac just go for the regular one
it's a bit cheaper
Yeah most likey
i chose this one cuz i play cs go and recoil control would become easier
spraying in cs go shakes your screen
and dyac helps
true
i would go for the 240hz model but it's twice the price and 240hz isn't that big of a difference
even if i could tell the difference it wouldn't be worth it
Yeah
Im in the U.S
i'm from romania
@copper hemlock i found reveiws on it and it says t decent with 144hz refresh rate
@glass tundra alright thanks
Isn't the odyssey g7 even 27 like 700 dollars?@brave cipher
i’m getting a 1440p main monitor should I get a 1440p side display as well? i’m using the side as vertical
@copper hemlock no
what frameless monitor that has a rotable stand would you recommend?
i have 2 monitors 1 is gigabyte G27QC and AOC G24G1, problem is only one is being detected and once i turn of the other, the other monitor opens up. I tried switching dps in my gpu nothing work unless i turn off one of the other. Mainly its shows no signal.
FIXED IT: It was AMD Scaling Mode, It was on Full panel instead of Preserve Aspect Ratio.
anyone know if a 400x400 rotating vesa wall mount exists?
how bad of an idea is it to use a tv as a monitor
not a bad idea at all
I use tv's myself
really want to shoot for a native 120hz refresh rate if you can
I use 2 x 55" samsung Q90T's and they are great
not sure about other manufacturers but Q60T, Q70T, Q80T, and Q90T from Samsung are all 120hz native refresh rate
now actually getting the 120hz is more tricksy
in Samsungs you have to be in the (ARC) hdmi port and you need to come from a display port on the gpu with an adapter into the tvs hdmi port
Preferably with an arm, I havent been able to find one, can I get a link?
@wary barn yes it was down to 649.99 before they had bad flicker while gsync was active now its fixed tho, amazing color and contrast, brightness
still pricey personally speaking im sure its a beautiful monitor just double what id like to spend on a single one
@copper hemlock i have a 1440p for gaming and a 1080p next to it. The two dif resolutions has not given me any issues. both are set to 144hz
it is an asus pg248q i think. its a little dated but a very good 1080 144hz montior
sorry vg248qe
little old but its just a general use monitor to have discord open or random things like that while gaming. there is probably other choices that are cheaper for non gaming usages at 1080 144hz
does stock stand let full rotation? @tawdry matrix
yes.
Cheap monitor to use for vertical orientation
There is newer model vg248qg and a 27” model vg278qr both probably cheaper than the vg248qe.
It’s not produced anymore. Probably 5-6 years old
oh ok lmao
I haven’t looked at other brands for a secondary monitor. But like you said 200 or so isn’t much for a secondary monitor when trying to stay in the higher refresh range. Which is why I mentioned the newer model of the one I have. Think it’s 200 for the vg248qg. Closer to 250 for the 27”
AOC makes a 24g2 model that’s the same specs for around 230
alright
I have heard that motion sickness while playing PC games can be caused by low refresh rate or both Monitors and GPUs, has anyone had that experience and upgraded there system and cured the motion sickness?
@distant halo normally related to VR use
Okay, I don't use VR but sometimes get motion sick after 30 to 60 mins. I was using an older PC with a refresh or about 30HZ for the game. I haven't had a chance to try it on the newer rig, but think my Monitor only does 60Hz so hopefully that is enough.
Anyone know a good monitor for the Ps5 that's 1080p
I am looking at getting an OLED TV to handle Concoles & TV... I haven't seen an OLED yet, but the image is claimed to be exceptional and can have very low refresh rates.
LG & I think SONY make the OLEDs
Okay
The only think I have read is sometimes the Game Mode doesn't active properly, hopefully they fix that auto detection but my understanding is there is a manual way to switch to game mode. If you don't use that mode then the lag could get larger since the TV is optimizing Picture not Speed...
@distant halo I do get headaches and motion sickness from low FOV.. Terribly low framerate can give me a headache after a long time, but nothing above 20 fps
Hmmm... Maybe I am more sensitive, also sometimes it doesn't look like a slow frame rate but a stutter in the visual sequence. So a frame may hold on way to long and my mind is expecting movement but nothing happens, then the Game starts up again and it JUMPs too far. That definitely bothers me more...
My older brother can't stand video games for more than an hour
I never understood that, since I've played games all my life, and now I work in'em
So I imagine your thing is probably close to what my brother experiences ^^
30hz IS very low
Could be, I am starting up a few eSports centers and want to make sure I can minimize any experience like that for customers. That is really why I want to know... I can take a break from time to time, but want to make sure the equipment doesn't have this problem by design...
Older PC with "boardline" GPU is what gives the 30HZ
and its very very easy to make a "disconnect" between what you see and what you expect (which is what many times causes the nausea)
esports and 30hz don't go well together
I think it causes mine as well, I suspect one of my Monitors (which is really a TV) likely has a LAG as well, so my actions don't line up with what I see...
aye
its fairly simple to test IF you can get a hold of a 144hz monitor
because that would also support a bunch of hz down to 60hz
No way! I am just hoping it is more HZ and not screen size or other issues that cause the problem. I think LAG is bad as well as "Skipping" which newer hardware with newer games should not have a major problem.
for a competitive FPS, I'd find it hard to recommend anything under 144hz to be honest from my experience
so its just a question of exposing yourself to it and figuring it out
I feel like 144hz are getting cheaper and cheaper, mostly if you get them on sale... Probably worth a shot considering it's black friday soon
That is fair, I think most of the games and streaming are done at 1080P so the GPU/CPU will not be an issue. Do the 144HZ monitors auto adjust or anything if the frame rate varies... So if a game runs into major GPU/CPU load and slows to 120Hz for example, but the monitor is expecting 144Hz does that cause artifacts/ripping or anything?
Okay, I will see if I can find more details on that... Is that NVIDIA or AMD?
@maiden wedge Pivot is what you want to search for
Thanks
Hopefully I'm actually helping ^^
If so, you're welcome! :)
@maiden wedge ability to rotate to vertical
I think so, it is more information than I had and what to look for...
@full moat ok cool can you link a 1080p pivot monitor
@maiden wedge you can search for one yourself :) Because you know all the other details that you need
@full moat is there like a filter for pivot in pcpp or should I search pivot
just dont expect the filters to actually catch every product that actually supports it
Ok
@maiden wedge that one does support it yes
Is the monitor I sent a good pivot 1080p monitor one
its an option
Is monotone trustworthy https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6htKHx/monoprice-138035-350-3440x1440-120-hz-monitor-138035
@full moat do you have a better suggestion
Uh
?
So you link a 100$ 1080p pivot monitor, than a 400$ 1440p uw monitor
What are you looking for xD
@maiden wedge tell us about your actual use case
we cannot magically know what you plan to use them for :)
One for gaming etc and one for writing lines of code
Like a basic one and a coding o e
you want a basic one for gaming?
So 1080p/1440p 60hz is good enough for your needs?
I've never heard of Monoprice, so I couldn't tell you sadly
@full moat is moniproce trustworthy or is it some random brand I shall stay away from
they can be, like all other brands, good and bad
if you plan on using the vertical for coding, i would recommend IPS as the panel type
I meant for the ultra wide
@full moat this one is it good Is monotone trustworthy https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6htKHx/monoprice-138035-350-3440x1440-120-hz-monitor-138035
https://www.rtings.com/ <- have a look around
What’s a good 1440p monitor 144hz plus? For ~300$
@tame swallow gigabyte g27q
should i buy a ips, tn or va panel for high refresh rate 144hz 1440p gaming
especially fps'
I recommend IPS
bye
alright
thank you
whats the difference between compatability and actual g sync actually
scroll down
anyone know any cheap ol monitors like bare bones 1920x1080 whatever hz for under 100
preferably with displayport doesn’t matter if it doesn’t
Can someone help me find a 1440p 240hz 27inch non curved monitor
Thanns
you are very welcome
Hey I need help
For some reason my DVI isn’t being connected one moment it was showing the display after turning it off after not even an hour
It wouldn’t show the display anymore
Does anyone know y?
is 31inches for 1080p bad
i def wouldn't go for 1080p on a 31 inch screen, at that point pixels become visible, try getting a 1440p monitor for that size instead
this good monitor? https://www.newegg.com/p/1DG-0061-00401
@deep fern a help me?
this good monitor?
anyone recomend good 144hz monitors?
couldnt find a whole lot of info on it, the out of box calibration isnt great and it's tn for colors are to be expected with tn, other than that it looks ok i see people saying they've used it for months without issue
msi g241 is a nice 144hz monitor @maiden wedge
ehh i wouldnt count on the hdr at that price. anyway there isnt much hdr content and windows hdr sucks
yes but I mainly play battlefield and hdr is on battlefield?
400nit peak brightness it looks like
what that mean?
thats how the brightness goes
so it will be good with 5700xt?
hdr400 doesnt have local dimming iirc, so the blacks won't be very dark more of a grey
will be good with 5700xt?
looking at benchmarks rn it won't be able to hit consistent 1440p 144hz in battlefield. whether you actually want the 1440p for games or other work is up to you
¯_(ツ)_/¯
be real now @scarlet ledge do u really need 1440p all the time
and @scarlet ledge say thanks to ghost for all the hardwork he put into researching that for you
thanjs ghos
1440p 27in would be nice pixel density upgrade from 1080p 27in
pringles are so nice man
im not much of a 1440p gamer but personally like it for some photo stuff, or videos whatever. could be nice to have
if i was specifically looking for hdr id probably get at least hdr1000 but those can be very expensive
I dont really care about the hdr
as i mentioned above the msi g241 is a nice 24in 1080p 144hz panel, ips too
when ur monitor cost more then ur pc
lol my peripherals probably cost more than my pc
sksksksk
wtf
i installed a ssd yesterday and lost the screw for it to be in place so its just hanging 🙂
i did that for a good while xD until i change case than i do properly
lmao
does 2 ssds make it faster
cause im not feeling that much of a difference tbh
multiple ssd doesnt really matter unless you have like a optane drive or such as a small boot drive or a cache
also some ssd faster than others
is this good monitor? https://www.newegg.com/p/1DG-0061-00401
sx8200 pro is nice, that should be your boot drive
do i change in bios?
ugh that means ill have to redownload all the games on that drive then and redownload windows?
I made the same mistake - I have my sx8200 as my secondary gaming drive
I think I’m gonna buy a 500gb nvme to change my boot drive instead of messing with volumes
i get 8mbs download
so uh
gnna take me half a year to reinstall the games i have before xD
is 32inch for 1080 gonns be weird
Yeah, I have been looking at that range hardcore since that deal came up. I think it may be best to wait for better black friday deals, considering if you ever get to 1440p gaming in the near future you will be quite out of luck.
With all the deals going on right now I wanted to know a good 1440p monitor with high refresh rate and 1ms response time, I'm trying to keep it below $300 any suggestions?
Thanks, I have another question, are you able to find one that's 27 inches?
Sorry, but I have another question
What's the difference between IPS, VA and TN?
@terse mantle
What's the difference between IPS, VA and TN?
@twilit hatch search it up
I just did
Mhm
IPS seems like the one I would want
Ips is best for office work, it has better colors and viewing angles
Tn has worse colors and bad viewing angles but it has fast responce time
Va is the inbetween of those two
hmmm
IPS and VA seem like the panels I want
I'm going to look for a VA panel
@rustic basin do you have any recommendations for a 1440p monitor that's good for gaming and image quality
https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Monitor-Display-Response-FreeSync/dp/B08CS3X1R9/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&hvadid=78134179162282&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvqmt=e&keywords=aoc%2Bcq27g2&qid=1604780773&sr=8-3&tag=mh0b-20&th=1 @rustic basin This is the flat version of it. Is it basically the same thing with just flat?
@olive hare are you upgrading from 60hz?
so you already have a 144hz display(s)?
pretty sure msi g241 is still a good option under 200
hi i wanna get an 1080p, 144 hz, gaming monitor, with like nice colors
any suggestions?
thats g-sync compatible^
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083K17XLH?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 @terse mantle i found this
its g-sync compatible but
its peak brightness is 250 nits
i heard thats average
yeah ik thanks tho
still good
i checked thru that and they were expensive as heck
i found some nice g-sync compatible ones
but they dont have built in speakers mm
Reason: Bad word usage
my bad
my parents are anti gaming and all that so its hard to always use an excuse for headphones
and stuff
might buy external speakers then
i found this one
Can someone confirm if this monitor I found is worth it?
not if you dont post a link @upper viper
Should I get a typical dual arm mount or one of those gas mounted arms?
What’s a good monitor for no more than $249
Change to the 165hz model though
Its cheaper for some reason
165hz 1080p 1ms
Really good
For $144
yep
I need some help figuring out a good 4k 144hz monitor
wow. 4k 120 HZ monitor is gonna be a little expensive . i can try to find you one.
You could also look for a 2k 144hz
4k might be out of my budget rn but I have a 3090 so I want to use it to the best of its power
using a 3090 on anything else besides a 4k+ monitor is a waste
unless you are trying to hit 1440p 240hz on tomb raider at maxed graphics
thats fine too
you are video editor or something ?
yeah i do video editing for some people
Needed an upgrade from a 1060
So I went and got my hands on a 3090 founders, retail luckily
or, if you got money to burn: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/new-alienware-55-oled-gaming-monitor-aw5520qf/apd/210-auds/monitors-monitor-accessories
The amazon one seems fine, only thing is limited reviews
ill have to do some research into them
at 700 usd
dont worry too much about reviews
if you want a real review, look on youtube
still a bit pricy
dont bother with amazon buyers
but it is 4k 144
I'm looking for an IPS 1440p monitor with 10bit HDR support and also scales 1080p well, does anyone have a good suggestion?
Should be 120 hz or above as well
ah I was kinda looking for ips but this is an option as well, I'll keep that on my list thanks
@maiden wedge 1080p doesn’t scale well to 1440p monitors regardless of which one you buy
It’s effectively 1.5:1, instead of 2:1 like 4K (which scales no problem)
27inch 1440p 144hz for 309
I see, I guess I'll stick to a relatively cheaper monitor for now and upgrade once the newer graphic cards are out for a while
can someone help i need the cheapest 144hz moniter i can find
must be 1080p tho
no tn panel
@honest owl i know of a couple
oh ok id appreciate if you'd show me
its sorting low to hih
prolly cheaper options on amazon or newegg around bf or cm
welcome
i would check amazon
anyone know where to get a good 32 inch 4k 120hz 300 or less monitor
id check pcpartpicker
you can filter it and itll show you the cheapest place to buy
damn really cant find a 4k 32 inch cuved 120 hz.....
i saw this but its only 120 hz
this is a good price
Do you guys know how the monthly payments work on debit ??
no
prolly the same as credit
aWAIT
the monitor a good price
i meant noabout the card
damn bro so you think the cards thing doesnt work
Because it say debit and credit
i dont have a credit
only a debit
VA, not bad
@solid creek i said you should be fine
looking for a decent 1440p 144fps+ gaming monitor, any suggestions?
Looking for a g-sync 1440p 144hz monitor.
The aw3821 just released for something like 2500 dollars lol. If you want to go broke.
38 inch ultra wide with the top everything.
Except hdr
As did the new aw 25 inch 360hz 1ms for like 900.
Whats the best monitor for a Intel Core i9-9900K and a RTX 3070
should i use hdmi or display port to connect my monitor to my pc
Im interested in this too ^
but im guessing display port is better, unless you have hdmi 2.0
im looking for 1440p 144hz montior anyone got any suggestions?
@ me if you do
do you have a specific budget ? @cloud stirrup
I would say max around 300-450
Check out these : Gigabyte G27Q, Acer VG270U PBMIIPX, LG 27GL83A-B...
I believe these are within your budget and they all have a 1ms response time while being IPS and 27 inches big
You should maybe wait for some more suggestions since these are just some examples and i’m sure you can find other greats monitors for around the same price 😀
@cloud stirrup
thanks for the help
that one looks great for the price too
this is VA and curved
@next nova all should be.
uhh have yall heard about the acer nitro VG272U P
cause i am not finding any reviews of it online
is it the 768$ one
supposedly 1ms gtg
seems overpriced lmao
but it can apparently go down to 0.7
i can look for 1440p ones at 1 ms for ya
what size
and see if theres any at a better deal
27inch 1440p 144hz ips panel
yeah gotcha
thanks
any specific ones that you would reccomend?
not really since i just bought an 1080p one lol
ohh
¯_(ツ)_/¯
some other knowledgeable people are around here so good luck
this one set to 0.4 seems great
1440p, 165 hz overclock, 0.4, g-sync compatible
There’s a lot of used monitors on the market rn I bought a 165hz 24 inch 1440p for 150$ look of Facebook market place and offer up eBay if you want but I prefer local deals
@charred oyster
oh i dont live in the US
