From the magnet, to voice coil, to the fact the 660 ditches the paper rear of the driver for a specific metal material sennheiser uses, to the fact that the membrane is lighter and thinner and a completely different shape

Difference is all of those have a chasis that pulls the driver farther away

The 600 series parts image in 3 blobs because rhe driver is so close to the ear that you only get depth from the inner portion of the coil, the tip of the center for highs, and rhe edges kf the driver for mids

Meaning you dont get much depth at all

And you dont more imaging thatv3 blobs per driver

Most headsets image by having a wide driver that reflects off the sides of the chasis to the ear and get a lot of that imaging from some frequencies primarily hitting behind the hear which changes how your mind processes them or hitting the front

Something electrostats for example also tend to do really well with mids

Which is why most electrostat users will tell you vocalist sound dead infront of them no matter how wide the headset generally sounds

What makes a driver have most of its characteristics is how the patterning and thickness on certain areas of the driver are done

#

The 58x and 660s are not the same in any way here

#

They literally only share a size which is probably one of the more common driver sizes and even there they are not the exact same 38mm

#

One is a slightly wider driver in that same range of 38 to 39mm

#

However, again there is another headset that does share the exact size with the 58x

#

It also shares the same housing, same membrane, same paper back, even the same wires going to the driver

#

And the same dampener

The voice going is basically what pushes away from the magnet and if you have a longer one you get a higher impedance which means you pick up less distortion from an amp

I mean I still stick to my stance that they're just different on the tubes, as they obviously should be considering it's a tube amp, yes the 600 and 650, IMO, do come alive a bit more on the tubes than the 559, 598, 58x, and 660s, but they just sound so similarly tuned, I don't get what you're getting at because I still love them a lot more than other cans I have tried in this price range, next on my list is the hifiman 4xx, those planars, but like I said dude sometimes it's not about physical properties because the driver tuning is really similar they don't sound very alike at all, I'm not about to take them apart again but if I really have to I will

To start with tuning isnt a thing. The headsets dont have any digital parts eqing and it is all down to physical properties

#

Second off if you mean frequency response they arent similar at all there either

They are all very different reverse v shapes

Mid forward is the only similarity

they're actually "vacuum tubes" there's no air in them, and lots of electrons. there's a cathode, lots of other scientific babble, but they make the sound go brrrr basically. to put it simply lmao. there's power tubes and driver tubes, it's kinda hard to explain what they really "do" to the sound since I'm a bit new to tubes and jumped into it to learn more and start tube rolling and other stuff. it has to do with the tubes themselves and how they work, there's a science there I don't really fully grasp yet but I'll get there

The ur40 which is literally able to be found for $20 to 30 is all around better

i was on a full sized for a long time, switched to a tenkeyless last year, but wanted to play around with a kit, and this whole thing was like $60 or so, so if i end up not liking it, i'll just flip it and go back to my tenkeyless

My unpowered speakers have a constant static background noise

I'm using an amplifier that is plugged into the wall through a three-splitter. The splitter is accommodating for my PC as well as my sub and amplifier.

My PC is connected to the amp via a 3.5mm to separate L/R audio cable, as analog.

#

When I change the amplifier inputs from analog to the other two options (digital or coaxial), the static gets much lower than it is when set to analog (even when nothing is plugged in)

#

What can I do?

#

I've noticed that the static does not scale with the volume I set in the amp, unless I go all the way to the minimum (-64dB) where it stops completely.

Hmm look pretty generic, i wouldnt expect much from cheap bluetooth headphones, wireless much expensive because need for extra parts

reason why i dont use wireless mostly is because it requires a built in dac/amp along with the speakers themself which drives up the price a lot, and the only ones ive been interested in are 400usd which is out of my price range on travel headphones lol
