do you know a nice keyboard around $100
@brisk parcel Ive never had a mechanical keyboard which one would you suggest
The apex 5 or k70 mk2
Also check which switches you like
I’m not sure I’ve never had a mechanical keyboard
There's 2 main types, linear and tactile, no feedback when you press down, vs a click when you press down before bottoming out
Thx for the suggestions will definitely look at k70 for the red switches and any reccomendations with brown switches
Linear is mainly Cherry MX reds, and Tactile with Cherry MX Browns
K70 lux mk2 has a version with cherry mx browns
@north python both are good, you'll be happy
I recommend the K70 since i know it, but the apex is also good
@daring zenith bruh what happened to clickies
blues?
yah theres like a dozen other clickies besides blues
blue is the only real clicky
people say mx blues are the worst clickies kek
shhhhh
wait
is clickies a brand of keys
i was just thinking cherry blues and you were saying the keys were clicky
no a category like linear and tactile ||but clickies suck so everybody ignores them||
that pains me
but
loud is fine
just be deaf
back in highschool all my friends wanted the keyboards to be clicky and loud lol
but i do like cherry blues
anyone own a pair of sennheiser hd58x headphones?
@brisk parcel
@white talon yes
I own 58Xs
what's your question?
@jovial scaffold you have spoken
@brisk parcel it is
Lol
Lol thanks
anyone know some good mics under 50$?
@brisk parcel I'm thinking about getting them instead of the hd6xx for gaming? But I also seen where if you take the foam out they sound a tad better and closer to the 660s
good mic, go a bit over and the samson q2u is right near that budget and it's a great entry level mic that works with usb or xlr
@white talon they are incredible for gaming, from what I’ve heard they have better imaging than the 6XXs actually since they’re a little more neutral
And yeah, removing the foam and the paper over the driver will make them sound really close to the 660S
Yeah for right now I bought the dt990 pro limited edition they coming in Wednesday my amp and dac coming in today.
The 6xx are out of stock for a while
Yeah only thing is the dt990 have ear piercing trebel and highs supposedly. But I have a tube amp so testing is gonna be involved
I got tubes that are from the 60s-70s era so I'm hoping that fixes it. Sennheiser loves some tubes
@golden bone you looking for a gaming headset or just headphones?
Gaming
Check out the cooler master MH751s. They’re just takstar pro 82s with a reskin
eww gaming
cant even use it yet im upsetty
Best non mic wireless headphones?
@grim aurora what price
@grim aurora what price
@astral hinge Meh, I just wound up ordering a pair of corsair virtuoso's, I liked the fact that I was able to remove the microphone enough on that specific one.
Steel series arctis 5 headset mic as good as people claim it to be?
i think thats the one my cousin has and its certainly not a bad mic but all good mics sound the same to me cause mostly deaf lol
i can understand him well tho
Reason: Bad word usage
Absolutely loving my new headphones
Yeah so for anyone who gets a dac and does USB to a computer, Do not do USB connected to a computer. You will get electronic interference and you'll have to try optical through your motherboard.
can someone recommend me some tkl wireless mechanical gaming keyboards?
£100
...
$ plz
@zealous torrent
actually
I probs can't help u bc ur in europe
so shipping and other stuf
@astral hinge its like 125-126 bucks
Usb is fine for most, I ended up using optical cuz I just have a mess of wires
I just setup my SecretLab Titan. Pleasantly surprised, it has pretty great back support
It definably eats an old office chair that is literally falling apart 🙂
I would hope so 😂
*beats
I thought that was what I ordered, but it seems I got the titan
@west hornet optical fixed my electrical interference
ye optical doesn't get any interference so it can help with that
yeah using usb was god awful. im breaking in my headphones now. they are really really good
nice, im glad you like them
imma be getting hd6xx in like 2 weeks lol
the guy only used them for a total 10-15 hrs but did the burn in
dang
6XX out of stock again?
hasn't even been 2 weeks LMAO
gonna pick them up next, even though I have 58Xs I wanna start a collection
Anyone know/is able to find out what boom arm PewDiePie uses now?
do you have a pic of it you could send?
looks a bit different so idk that exact one, but design looks similar to that of the blue compass
the compass is probably the most popular tube style boom arm
i think the psa1 is
psa1 is scissor arm with internal springs
that one is also one of if not the most popular arm
ohh sorry i didn't see the tube style part
all good 🙂
but yeah, the blue compass for that is
ye now i think reviews sway toward the compass now for it's sleek look
alright well I hope you find something!
what do you think it is?
lol yeah looks like it
yeah
not really surprised with the price, his mic is like 1100 xD
i believe it's 900$
and he is a youtuber with 100M subs
so I'm sure he can afford 1000 of these
possibly more lol
depends where i guess
true true
honestly, I think the shure sm7b is nearly or the same quality as that mic
the akg c214 is also really good
a lot cheaper than that
well the rule of thumb is when you get to these higher price ranges the difference in quality becomes more minimal. and in yt vids with compression you can't even hear the full quality, but it's really whatever you are happy with when buying a mic
true true
I'm thinking of going with the sm7b
trying to see what other mics could be better than it or the same for a little higher or cheaper price
only people that need the absolute best like the Neumann U87 Ai or just people that can afford it really look at these options
would be nice to get a mic like that
I hear with some mods you can get a sm57 to sound close to a sm7b
not quite as deep but close
I don't really like the looks of mics that are like the sm57
like the stage mics, I don't want that look
¯_(ツ)_/¯
they can look good, depends how you set it up. just be careful with condenser, they pick up a lot of background noise. sm7b is really nice tho, need a lot of power
yeah, I don't really want a condenser mic, looking into dynamic mics
close to the mic
lol
okay, thanks 😄
ye if you see jayztwocents vid on his mic setup and how he was disappointed at first you can see. a lot of the reason he was disappointed was because it was so far away
he used a sm7b too

he then got community response and fixed it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwuFLEJr5uA
I decided to take one more shot at getting the amazing sound that I was after with my Shure SM7B but this time I made changes based solely on what the audience suggested... and it turned out great!

every single youtuber that i've watched with this mic is like up to their mouth
and oh
ye the sm7b is known for being very quite
yeah
a streamer i watched was complaining that it was very quiet so he returned it
he then found out that you had to have it close to your mic lol
some interfaces can manage it at like 100% gain tho. cloudlifter helps but it expensive
lmao
theres too much audio stuff here and not enough keyboard stuff i blame you ghost
i bless this channel with a nude
Nachos
They look sick but theyre hard to make from what ive heard
thats why u buy them off drop ez
plus the community is full of gatekeepers
okay i cant deny that
with cheaper keycaps and good budget parts u could probably do one for 250 or less
like you could snag a killer 60% case+plate for 140 that would be pretty close to a $400 case
Is it worth it to make a cheaper custom keyboard tho?
its cuz im curious on making one in the future
if u wanna experience building one yeah
but you could just get a good varmilo/leopold and lube the stabs and it would be pretty good
how often do you think something would need to be replaced? broken?
a prebuilt or custom?
custom
as long as you dont throw it against a wall it should be fine for the next 150 years
I guess it would depend on qualiy of parts, but like if you got something for 250 like you said vs 400
lol
good, ill take it to my grave
the main difference is feel and sound basically
i see
It looks interesting
and more minor things like case build quality
I might look into it in the coming years
Yea same
actually with a plastic case u can make a custom 60% for like 130 or 150 if u want to lube the switches
Would u recommend a plastic or metal case?
if u want to spend like $80 more and want to have a case that could be used as a weapon yea get aluminum
somebody made a brass case
or an all glass case...cuz they are insanely heavy once you put stuff in them
go thru ur desk
get a marble case ez https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=103244.0
[IC] 60% Keyboard Case made out of MARBLE ! (update with proto photos 06/27)
Gateon Browns
also pro tip from me if ur buying any mechanical keyboard with mx switches buy some krytox 205g0 and lube the stabs if theyre rattly
it makes them like 8 times better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3d3r8BQk5k
My attempt to save the shitty clone Cherry stabilizers.
The result is quite promising.
0:00 Before anything
0:11 After Lubing + Band-aid Mod
0:39 Typing sound test
How to do that:
https://imgur.com/a/hwwjy
yea gaterons usually smoother than cherry (minus vintage blacks but those are lame)
since we have like no pins in here i got something we should pin
https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/hlf0ql/a_complete_beginner_guide_to_the_world_of/ beginner custom keyboard guide
@untold acorn yeah, I have a gateron optical brown switch and it's SOOO smooth
i'm thinking of changing my blues to browns
Gateron browns are very good according to people
yessss
yeh seems more relevent
mhm
for gaming? mehhh
But am a noob when it comes to sound systems...
you don't really need the amp
a bluetooth or usb headset is enough for gaming, as most games don't even support more than a high end headphone's range
Yeh that makes sense
at least, I haven't noticed a large difference
ehh bluetooth is meh, i hear good things of the dt 990 pro. idk much about the soundblaster
also getting good headphones with a dac/amp is upgradable which is nice. I use a schiit stack and i love it
I can understand that there can be misplaced trust in them as a lot of youtubers, streamers use them
@west hornet True
I don't think an amp is rlly needed if it's only for gaming.
depends on the headphones, higher impedance headphones require more power
getting a external amp is also to get a clean signal not just messy with a lot of volume
like, on a pair of headphones or speakers with a bad amp, it can be not pleasant to listen to at higher volumes, can get distorted, just not clean
as always id say if you have an opportunity to try out some of this equipment in person that would be best so you get a feel for it
Yeh I'd love to be able to try it all out before i buy any of it but obvs due to Covid, it's unlikely that I'll be able to
yep
true!
I have a friend who's a dj, im gonna ask him if he has a setup with an amp
oo yay im golden now
Especially in the UK as well, i can't think of anywhere
mhm
Honestly only this year i've really got into pc's and the stuff that surrounds it. I built a PC for my bro and it works a charm!
that's awesome!
and don't worry abt this pc not handling games. mine sweats out aaa titles ez at 4k
I agree! I regret not getting to know it all much sooner, when my parents bought stuff for me! 😆 but then i grew up...
lmao I used to have my specs in my nickname, but I removed them bc I didn't wanna seem too overcompensatey or spoiled, and it made me feel a bit guilty when ppl complented them
my specs are best specs
o
ti 92 baby 😎
Mad
ti 92 better
ngl this is all going in one ear and out the other, i have no idea what you're both talking about
lol no, i don't want to risk breaking an ancient artifact
hehehehehehehe
haha
my pc is big beef tho
It’s my baby
nothing beats my pc in benchmarks
ngl i can't talk to people about this stuf cos they don't get it! Loving this chat!
Ooooh fighting talk
yeah same with my friends, ill start ranting and they got no clue what im saying 😄
they still think im a black market dealer
lmaoOO

my friends think im some kind of a genius bc a make 100$ a week custom building pcs for ppl
j for reference im in high school
lol
I'd love to do that!
I do that too
nothing better than building a pc and getting others to pay for it
You can charge like upwards of $200 + the parts depending on what it’s got
I mostly build for family friends and friends of friends, so I try and keep my prices closer to 50-100
also it's a rlly good way to get rid of old unwated tech
j ask them "I can get you a better price if don't mind me using some of my old ram sticks, it's in rlly good condition"
Yeah I charge less when someone comes to me and asks me to do it but when I just build one and sell it off prices are +$100-$200
I'd just be worried that someone would ask me to find a problem and i wouldnt know where to start...
start by charging them extra
also make $$$ by getting them the peripherals, after you buy them on amazon for 10-20$ less
amazon is a gr8 place to find peripherals, ngl
amazon is gr8 to find most things haha
wdum
for example
when I was shopping for my 10980xe
it was 2800$
@radiant flicker
I got it off bhphoto for 1000, the price it's supposed to be
that's siiiick
it is rlly fun
what high school do you go to 😆
that's mad
I've looked like everywhere in the uk and i can't find any gaming "jobs" if you know what i mean... & this defo isn't peripheral talk anymore...
mhm
yea I love my high school
there's a rlly strong robotics team, im up for captain next year
You'll get it!
thx (:
No worries!
I never put a mic or camera on my computer. Thought I'd do it later and never got to it.
What would you recommend for mic and camera given those distortion issues?
what budget?
low end compared to most gamers
well for a camera you could use you phone with an app like iVCam or there might be another on android, the best mic for the value i'd say is the samson q2u although it still is around 60usd
there is a fifine mic that is very low end but still works, ill see if i can find
looks a bit more expensive than i remember but another budget mic is the fifine k669
~40usd
I share this computer with my mom, so using my phone is out. Need a new phone anyway. I was thinking of a usb camera of some sort but something not so cheap as to make grotesque distortion.
you can try looking at some of these then https://www.techradar.com/news/best-cheap-webcams webcams are insanely overpriced rn tho. if you have a camera or gopro or something that has hdmi there is a cheap usb capture card you can try
Hey do you guys know of some speakers that are around 50$?
are there any differences between the RODE PSA1 and the Blue Compass? if so, what are they?
rode psa1 is a scissor arm internal spring design, meaning it kinda looks like a scissor(idk how else to say). blue compass is tube style so the springs are internal as well but it only has one "piece" to the arm. looks sleeker. both are great. psa1 has some ties for cable management but i think the cable management route built on the compass looks better. so ye most of it is looks
some people say they have gotten their hand caught in a scissor arm while adjusting lol, that just seems weird tho
i heard that the blue compass is restricted from some movements since it's one piece?
is that correct?
it has a few places where you can tighten or loosen the springs, i'd say they both have fairly the same adjustment. one issue i know is some mics that have xlr cable in a weird spot like the sm7b gets in the way of the arm, i think that was a issue with both tho
I do not know how they perform with lighter mics opposed to heavier ones
that meaning some arms just lift up all the way because too light, idk the details on that tho
oh alright
thanks for the infoo
info*
and do you know if theo has a new name?
@acoustic delta Yea I was looking at either Reds or Browns and heard a lot of good things about Gateron Browns
And the Ducky is on preorder so I went with the Anne Pro 2
reds gang
Blues gang
brown poop gang
BLUES FTW
yellow
wait we're not talking about poop?
I like blues but i dont wanna annoy my whole family
Is there a difference between an UK keyboard layout and an EU keyboard layout?
eu could be a lot of different layouts
Is there a standerd dutch layout or should i just take uk?
I think it depends on the country right?
heres the dutch layout
I think the biggest difference between US and Uk keyboards is the enter key
this has a bunch of eu layouts
you could probably use any iso layout and itd be pretty close
Tbh I prefer the extended enter key over the weird flat one
I've used both but idk it's just more comfortable
is the shure sm7b overkill? if so, does anyone know cheaper alternatives?
that have same or nearly as good audio quality to the shure sm7b
sm57 is pretty close, based on same capsule i think, not quite as warm tho
anything else?
maybe the rode podmic
alright
thanks, I'll think about them, I'll wait to see if anyone else has some alternatives
for fortnite, is it better to have a wider mousepad or longer mouse pad?
it's okay if you can't but can you give me some examples on what you mean?
Some people swing their mouse around a lot
for example, when my friend plays on my PC, the mousr goes off the mouse pad very often becuase he never picks it up and sets it back down in the middle of the mousepad when he plays. I, for one, pick up and set down my mouse a lot, so even though I have a small mouse pad it doesnt bother me
What type of mechanical keyboards (wired and low noise) and mouses (wireless) would people recommend/use for gaming?
🎮
y
Cause it can vary
budget is $200 max ttl
Okay cool
RGB not required
razer huntsman te ez or a leopold/varmilo
Don't need the number pad either
Do you like the clickiness of blue switches or would you prefer something like a red switch
see, the thing is, with my extended mouse pad, I barely go off it, almost never
Mechanical feel without the loud click
So stick with it then @acoustic delta, no need to get a new one
i need a new mousepad so much
Don't mind a lil click but not an obnoxious click that someone downstairs can hear lol
mines like 6x6 and it sucks
@devout fiber so you see, they might have some stains on it..

then get new mouse pad same size or slightly bigger ez
i'm gonna get a white one to be safe
bruhuhuh
scary gif

you do you
thinkin' ahead
lmao
i've stopped for about 2 weeks now, I'm tryin' really hard 😦
you go I guess
I'm probably gonna get a wider one though
I literally have a 60% keyboard and I play with it at like a 90 degree angle
wack
wowzas
but at that angle
it literally touches from top to bottom of my extended mouse pad
wack
LMAOO
wtf 😂
wait wtf somebody actually used to play like this
bro stop you're making my wrist cringe
Dunno, might be more ergonomic than the usual layout
yeah
tried it for 5 seconds. Couldnt go longer than that
I tried it and I figured out how to make it actually comfortable
with the arm that you use for the keyboard, you kinda have to extend it more
I don't know how to explain it
i play like that, but opposite
i have my mouse arm angled 90 degrees
so its in front of me
wtf send a pic
@tight pulsar he probably lyin' if he don't send a pic
naw you're jokin'
naww
you cleared out space for you to do that
i didnt clear out any space
damn..
that whole setup looks cursed
also i can lean in on my arm
lmaoo ikr
its a pro gamer setup
u got a wacky arm and then a ibm beamspring in the back like nah
lmaooo
okay buckling isnt much better for the whole atmosphere there
lol
smh
i wasnt gonna game on buckling spring
and i wasnt gonna make space for 2 keebs
and the wire ends up getting in the way when i play like this
for my mouse
cuz my keeb so long and chonky, i cant put my mouse the normal way
and now ive found i like it better and have more control
i just had a stroke while trying to read what sassy said since my brain isn't big enough for that
He's speaking the language of the gods
ikr
Lol

vibin
Anyone know of a good gaming (as in RGB) couch mouse, preferably ROG or Corsair? Looking for a premium one (anything $60-$150). All the ones I have tried are either budget options or perform terribly on couches
@hazy fiber I don't really understand the meaning for a "couch mouse" so I figured maybe a wireless mouse, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/6167607.p? there's a good one by corsair for 90$.
Yh, wireless... but also good for use on a couch. Like I have the newer dark core and it doesn't do great off a mousepad
are you gonna be gaming?
Ya, but probably less fps and more large strat games while I play on the couch
oooh what kinda strat games?
AOE3, AOMEE, EE2 (EE3 is low-key trash), Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion, a few more
They're the ones I tend to play with siblings, so they are the ones I would not be at my desktop for :)
@hazy fiber damn, sorry man but I don't know too much about a "couch mouse". I wish I could help 😦
That's alright, thx tho 🙂
Some good wireless mice are like the G305 or the basilisk hyperspeed.
Both are about 60 bucks
@hazy fiber
g305 is kinda a normal looking small mouse
Will look at em, thx
anybody use a topre keyboard here?
@hazy fiber ah okay, those aren't too bad honestly
only one I'm really comfortable with on that list is Sins
I personally play AI war 2, sins, PA Titans, ashes of the singularity, and a hidden gem called star ruler 2
@untold acorn I love the basilisk hyperspeed
i've had it for abt 2 months now, and it's only died once, 3 hours after I got a desktop notification
@hazy fiber
it's rlly gr8 as a mouse for ur needs, sometimes when im playing minecraf I just sit in bed with my macbook pro and basilisk hyperspeed
I recommended the g305 and the basilik cuz theyre solid mice
The g305 is better for small hands and a bit more normal looking
Hyperspeed is well sized and has a nice feel
And they have good battery life as well
This guy still is recommending the 58x lmao
Just cause you own one doesnt makenut good
can we not start this now
58x?
Oooh
From first generation core i days
oh alright
Was used for the i7-920 etc and xeons
@thick plank oh bro don’t even start lots of people have actually appreciated my recommendations
I’ve given more choices than just the 58X
@untold acorn the 58X jubilees are a sennheiser x massdrop collab
There’s nothing wrong with the 58Xs and they continue to impress me, much better than the supposed cans that they are an exact copy of
It’s more than just tech specs, there’s a bit more that goes into a headphones’ sound signature than just a few numbers on a digital piece of paper
Speaking of different recommendations
@golden bone did you decide on what you were gonna get? I know I recommended the cooler master MH751-2s
Just cause you own one doesnt makenut good
The best recommendations are ones made from personal experience. What you say is true, if you own some apple earpods, that doesn't mean they are good.... but personal experience, along with a little knowledge of the other options makes for a good recommendation :)
I recommend the wh1000mx3 because I have tested several competitors and found it the best, not because it's on the top of every Forbes list. We're just sharing our experience with headphones
What would you have us base recommendations on?
@golden bone did you decide on what you were gonna get? I know I recommended the cooler master MH751-2s
@brisk parcel yea I ended up just picking up a new pair of steel series arctis 5 brand new from my friend for 40 usd
ah okay, not too bad for $40
Razer, MSI or Logitech for keybord? If someone has the time and knows something about keyboards is there a good, mechanical keyboard for about 100$ or lower?
MSI makes keyboards?
I'd like to recommend corsair keyboards
Also do you know what switches you like?
At least branded with MSI :[]
I never actually tried but red's or a bit more clicky one's should be fine oh and I forgot about corsair.
reds aren't clicky btw
if you want clicky go for browns or blues
reds feel the best to me, but everyone is different
Blues are loud
Blues are a bit over the top, perhaps browns are the right ones, I'll have to go to a store I think. That's why I'm not sure about the blues
Thanks for the advice on that, I wasn't sure at all
If you just want something that doesn't have a tactile click when you press down, and only sound being bottoming out, reds or other linear switches are good
I have that one and it’s been pretty good
if you can pick it up on sale, the corsair strafe RGB Mk. 2 is a great keeb
it'll go for $100 exactly on sale
Off brand but feels fine 🤷♂️
I got a keyboard with outemu blues
Idc much about the click
eh
Ohhh I linked the blue switch ones but I got the red
subjectively cherries aren't the best
people consider anything non-Cherry mx to be knockoff cherry
If you just want something that doesn't have a tactile click when you press down, and only sound being bottoming out, reds or other linear switches are good
@daring zenith A bit satisfaction would be cool lmao
that doesn't make them worse or knock-offs lmao
sometimes even more than cherry browns
@daring zenith my friend has the same keyboard different color with the blue switches. Very loud
ye
Can anyone speak to the redragon kumara
My bro has got razer switches but they sound like Mx blues with 10 Megaphones in front of em'
Lol
At least everybody with blues should get a good mic with low gain lol
heh
True
Big pet peeve is people who’s mica detect their keyboard more than their voice
- sad rx 5700 xt noises *> rtx voice
@daring zenith
lol
Like I wanna know where the enemies are not what keyboard switches you have
ikr
Lmao
theres someone I played with who has the same keyboard I do
and their keyboard was louder than their voice
K552?
ye
Punishment for that should be 1 month using Apple Butterflie thingis
Garen Browns are nice
Browns and Reds are overall decent on most categories
Also whats the price and keyboard size you like?
keys> @alpine citrus what is that
@prisma niche Those nasty touchscreen-ish keys apple made a few years ago
My cousin has the “speed silver” ones or whatever they’re called and they’re actually kinda sweet
Usually it's Browns vs Reds for conventional keyboards
you either go tactile or linear
Before I got my pc I played on a Mac and literally played csgo with an apple smartmouse
everything else is just offsets
Brown and reds are middle ground
imo blues are clicky browns
And then u can go towards the extreme with either clicky keyboards or smooth keyboards
I like the feel of reds but could do without the tactile clicks if that makes sense
youd like linears then
Linears dont have that tactile click and are smooth the whole way
Ya for my next keyboard I’ll probably go with a solid linear board
But I don’t feel the need to upgrade anytime soon unless mine breaks or something
If it has a cushion it's good.
I can understand you in that point, it doesn get's out of date as hardware does.
Ya
I don't understand why people invest in EXTRA LOW LATENCY LOW RESPONSE TIME peripherals and then play with a 40-60ping, same with monitors, I think 5ms is the most you'll need but that's just an opinion
I mean
I'm here with 1ms g2g monitor, 9-20 ping, 1ms mouse pooling rate
but the thing is
I mean u dont want even more delay
actual latency is higher than marketing
1ms g2g usually means about 20ms color
1000hz mouse pooling rate can mean 20ms mouse latency
9-20ping?! I'm gonna change my pants, wait a minute...
Depending on the gamr i get 0-25
depends on the game
Usually
5mbits down 1mbit up baby
I used to get consistant 9 ping on siege
Ping and latency, response time etc. are different
but now its ~22 ping
I live in SoCal theres servers for games here
corona making everyone using wifi
My wifi is decent wit 300 mbps
Even if your ping is around 100-200 but consistent it is fine to play with
Good old copper cable won't go any faster no matter what you do, I'm gonna get a NetCube soon hopefully
I wonder if my low ping made me better at siege
I used to play better than I do now
U get used to ur ping
Perhaps you were more focused
I played a lot of fort in West and East servers
And it feels wierd when id change servers back
Ur talking going from 50-80 ping in East and then 0-25 in West
Damn, I'm so jealous lol
😂
if u can live without a numpad i'd get the huntsman te, its better overall and has much better keycaps+switches
Its loud tho lol
I'm considering buying a tablet for graphics, not sure which one to get:
XP-PEN Star 06: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B072TZ1WQ2 (90€)
XP-PEN Deco1: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B077W5SZD3 (51€)
Looking at the specs list on the website, they seem pretty much the same? Why is one more expensive? Am I missing something important?
Star 06 looks like its Bluetooth and the buttons are in a different configuration
How does that warrant 2X the price?
It also has a 10mm activation vs 8mm on the Deco1, but that feels insignificant.
I don’t speak french so I’m not 100% sure
I can link the en amazon link sorry lol
Deco is also .25 inches lRger
Time to order the Deco01 then.
My PayPal is not going to be happy >.<
Apparently the 01V2 is much better than the 01 because it supports tilting the pen to make differently shaded strokes. I'll be going with that one instead (10€ more).
Well this is nice, Amazon fr doesn't take paypal. I haven't replaced my US debit card still since I moved to France.
Generally if theres a v2 check it out because they revise issues associated with the first version
ye, I didn't know there was one before
Ooh
I had a chance to try some HyperX Clouds
Not very impressed with build quality tbh
It has the feel of some cheap knockoff gaming headsets I've gotten in liquidation lots
what is a good white key board from a reputable company
i found this actully Ducky One 2 White Case White. sorry i didnt respond sooner i was busy looking @untold acorn
Are they in stock?
anyone know where to find keycaps i have checked amazon newegg banggood mechanicalkeyboards
kprepublic, aliexpress, and kbdfans have a decent amount
i was playing bedwars yesterday; my shift key and ctrl key seemed to not work very well probably because my keyboard cost £10...would a gaming keyboard solve this issue? will a normal keyboard suffice?
I recently bought a One 2 Mini White, it is pecking epic.
Only regret is that there are no arrow keys (that's a 60% kb for ya), but you can reprogram any key to be anything, so I made the right Ctrl/shift/win into arrow keys.
Reccomendation for a about 15-20$ wireless gaming mouse?
i guess i have to takeoer these peeps
@alpine turtle really any keybaord should suffice but "GAMING KEYBOARD" are one with switches i like them a lot its up to you and your budget to get one
@calm cobalt do you not like wired mouses cause it might be your best bet but if you insice
Not rlly, when I play the cords get in the way and I don't do anything competitive so latency doesn't rlly matter
oh oki doke well i would recommend pretty much anything logitech because there sensors are really good but i belive razer has some really good ones but a bit more costly
@calm cobalt
Alright, ty
I have this cheap 6$ one rn that has like no latency and has lasted me 3 yrs so far
Ohh my bad i read mouse as keybaord
yeah no worries i have some old wireless walmart mouse that was 4$ and it aint half bad
but now i use a model o
15-20$ preferably
Razer isn't a great budget option
Imo
You want a dpi switch or anything gamery?
Or just like any sort of wireless mouse
Uhh extra buttons would be nice but not a necessity, dpi would be good tho
Have yall seen the 60% huntsman?
lol yeah no worries for higher end maybe but not low end
yeah The Huntsman Mini is releasing in black or mercury white, and gamers also have the option of two different kinds of optical switches: clicky or linear. The clicky variation is launching today for $119.99, whereas the keyboard with linear switches is coming later this summer for $129.99.
lol i just saw it and thats the price
The verge posted it lol the best tech source
A decent custom keyboard will cost you about the same price if not more
eh razer swtches dont feel good in my opionion theres mouses are good and headsets are good but overpriced
Coincedence? I think not
ah sorry i cleaned my keyboard it seemed to fix the issue thanks
Sorry if this has been asked. Does anyone know of an aluminum mouse? I have a Corsair K95 platinum, and was looking at the Corsair M65, but the reviews scared me about getting a bad one. I have had a Logitech G600 for a while and it's starting to act up. Any recommendations?
aluminum?
i didnt realize that was a thing
if youre really after build quality, there are plenty of quality mice made from plastic
If you want an excellent Corsair mouse, look at the Dark Core RGB Pro. It's plastic but has excellent build quality (plus it's iCue)
Great for a palm grip
How is the mm 710?
Hey, when I first bought a mousepad, I didn’t check the dimensions correctly, and I’ve been using a Long but narrow, not full size mousepad. Any good quality mousepad brands that ship for a reasonable price online (I would like something that could cover my entire desk) ?
@little crater Yeah, i didnt know they made them either. till my G600 started acting up. since my keyboard is Corsair i looked there first. i usually match. and since this was aluminum finish it would be cool to have one made the same. Easy to clean and lightweight sturdy.
nice
anyone know some good monitors for gaming under 200$?
what would be some good headphones that i could use for gaming for around $90 or less, they have to be comfortable and wearable for a long time without bothering you
@grim grotto @brisk parcel could probably answer that
I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED
lol
Yep I summoned you
yes, @grim grotto I can help you out! do you need a headset or just headphones?
Headphone man
yeah headphones
do you need a mic attached to it, I should say
Hmm. You could get these for 90 (from Amzn warehouse deals)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HVLUR54
These are the nicest ones at this price point that I have tried 🙂
Or you could get these: https://www.amazon.com/Grado-SR60e-Headphones/dp/B00KYTNU9U
They have great sound quality, but are open backed and have no mic.
They are both audiophile grade ones, my experience with consumer headphone under $100 has been mostly negative. If you need wireless ones I can find some other options
@hazy fiber for those audio technica headphones, would you get them used for $90 or new for $100
Amazon has them at $90. They say used, but that usually means an unopened return or damaged box. $90 is a good price for those headphones. Just make sure you buy from Amazon, as third party sellers usually mean used when they say used
So im not sure if this counts but i recently bought Sennheiser HD 58X Jubille Headphones and a Blue Yeti Blackout microphone... for $300 the audio and voice quality compares to around a $800 setup. Im quite impressed with the headphones $170 and they perform like a $400 set.
ok thanks
@hazy fiber what about the Phillips SHP9500 they are $90 normally but right now they are $74
do you know if those are comfortable/any good
Reviews are good, but I have not tried them
Audio Technica makes better stuff than Phillips imo
ok
@tranquil cliff ayy 58X gang, loving them too?
I wanted 6XXs tbh but they were out of stock, plus I prefer the sound of the 660S over the 650, since you can mod the 58X to sound super close to 660Ss
Should I get gateron reds or gateron browns on the rk61 keyboard?
if u want linear then get reds if u dont then get browns
are the linear ones faster?
i mean technically the linear ones are because they have a 10g lighter spring but the main difference is the tactile bump that provides a feeling when the switch presses and a linear is just straight down
heres a force curve graph of linear tactile and clicky switches (it says cherry mx but its the same principal for gateron)
notice the bump in brown and blue and no bump in red
Im new to these, rihgt now i have a mechanical keyboard
depends on preference if u want to try them out go to a store with electronics and test the different switches out to get a feel
and go to a microcenter/best buy to check them out
but idk rn
with covid
if u could test it there
oh yeah idk if they loet you
yeah that might happen
My mechanical is really cheap that a i have now its a eagle tec and its a combo
mouse and keyboard
linears are pretty good to have if u dont know which switch kind you like
if you hate them then return it and get browns
both solid options
thanks for the help
@sullen arrow It falls into what you like, like everyone said go to a local store or order a sample kit of switches you’re interested in.
can the g203 double click
I would hope so 🙂
I don't see why a mouse wouldn't be able to double click
Lol
Functionally, an Icue nexus can do what a stream deck does, right?
Welp, I am debating between another Dark Core Pro mouse and a ROG option as my laptop mouse.
yo what type of switch for mechanical keyboards feel the best for gaming
or at least like, what types are popular for gaming
thanks
t o p r e
I like speed silvers
So I recently bought a One 2 Mini keyboard and have loved using it so far (French layout).
I've reprogrammed the right keys to be arrow keys tho.
However, I keep running into odd problems with the kb. Sometimes, it seems to get stuck in an odd mode where Alt acts as if it were pressed.
Hitting Esc in this "mode" switches active windows, like alt-esc would do on a normal keyboard.
Sometimes unplugging it and plugging it in again fixes it, other times I have to hit the bottom keys on the kb until it works, and other times I've had to restart windows.
Anyone know what might cause this?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KK9481I good speakers?
read the reviews :P
Well for sub 30usd I wouldn’t expect anything outstanding
Anyone know how to fix keyboard chattering on a ducky or any mechanical keyboard?
On the longer keys like the space bar?
rubber o-rings
if orings fix it something is really messed up
its probably rattly stabilizers happens a lot
Make sure the spacebar is palced correctly maybe
125 CAD = 92.06 USD
yea
Should I get a freesync moniter if I plan to buy a rtx 3000 series gpu? It’ll be paired with a 3700x
why not
Don’t they work better with amd cards?
Freesync only works with AMD cards
but freesync monitors are g-sync compatible, and g-sync only works with Nvidia cards
Ok didn’t know that, thanks
This is my first build so I’m trying to figure this out as I go
Sry to ping, but ik your good with keyboards. Do you know if a ducky one 2 mini has hot swappable key switches? @tight pulsar
Don’t you need to de-solder the switches?
Thats what I'm asking lol
no ducky has hotswap that I know of
So I would need to re-solder to switch the switches then...
Bummer
How difficult would that be? @tight pulsar
soldering or desoldering?
soldering is easy desoldering sucks
or just pay some dude $25 on r/mechmarket
unless you have a nice desoldering setup it’s a pain I’d just give it to somebody to desolder
Aight thanks
what is a good cherry mx red keyboard that is under 150 (CAD) ping me if you know
I remember watching a video where they had to desolder the Ducky to swap the switches
@jovial scaffold
Ya, I just watched a similar vid @untold acorn
If I bought a pair of headphones for ps4, would they work on my pc and/or phone?
depends on the headphones, some only work for ps4
maybe there is an adapter out there
would it be a driver issue? cause I would think a 3.5mm jack would be mostly universal
ye that's why i am wondering about adapter, idk too much about consoles but i know some use proprietary connectors that are a bit smaller than 3.5mm
some headphones will say something like ps4/xbox/pc
I tried to add a screencap of the headphones, and then a link to the page, but it got blocked
guess newegg doesn't like fry's electronics
Any tips on building a 60% mechanical keyboard?
@tight pulsar ^
@crude roost what kind of budget do you have?
Probably one of the more user-friendly websites to get all the parts for your keyboard
Well I have done a little research and dont really want to solder too much
yea kbdfans has a lot of great things, novelkeys has some good stuff too, and if you can snag a nk65 that’s a great deal (it’s hotswap so you don’t need to solder)
if you don’t want to solder I’d recommend hotswap, lots of 60% hotswap pcbs
also these are good videos https://youtu.be/W0FSvTYlggw https://youtu.be/deVaUvywGMw
LUBE STABILISERS! :)
Today we go through a guide on what we would consider an introductory build for mechanical keyboards. MAKE SURE TO WATCH IN DEPTH SOLDERING TUTORIALS! I'm warning you :)
Big thanks to Banggood.com! :
Switches: https://goo.gl/mbVdHv
Stabilises: https://go...
Brief hotswap mech parts spreadsheet : https://bit.ly/2RMvKcG
Today we're going to go through how to build a mechanical keyboard with no soldering. Basically, we need a hotswappable PCB, and really that takes care of all the hard work! I couldn't cover everything, but hopeful...
Awesome thank you so much. I'll definitely check those out
👌
A decent soldering iron should be about 12 bucks. I find it a very relaxing process
Get the contacts hot, watch the metal melt and flow, pull away the iron, watch it solidify. Repeat
Very theraputic
The smell, not so much
I don't mind soldering. I actually do like doing it. Just don't want to worry about it for my first build
I wouldn’t say it’s a lot it just adds a decent amount of money
a decent soldering setup is like $50+, whereas going from soldered to a hotswap pcb might be $15 or $20 more
My new keyboard gets delivered today. Probably will test by connecting it to my laptop. (I'm assembling my peripherals ahead of buying the core components for my new build to spread out the cost.)
If you're planning on making more keyboards in the future invest in a soldering setup
If this is going to be like just one project then just get a hotswappable
ya or any future project that needs soldering
hey does anyone know anything about microphones?
So I got a Logitech g700s mouse. I got it used as a gift a couple years ago. I just saw the price of it and I’m thinking about selling it. What do you guys think?
Looks pretty good
I'm looking for some cheap headphones. Nothing fancy, just something for video conferencing. Any advice?
Headset or headphone
no way
a
headset
o:
I'm looking for some cheap headphones. Nothing fancy, just something for video conferencing. Any advice?
@split nimbus hmm... if it doesn’t need a mic attached, i recommend some audio technica headphones
Speakers and mic. Video conferencing and all
But you don't need great quality with video conferencing
yes
well i mean if you want affordable and ok quality there’s the razer kraken x
There was that one cheap headset that's supposed to be good
Turtle beach 220t or smth
I forgot name
Exactly. I'm just looking for something that's cheap but is reasonably comfortable
turtle beach is t r a s h
You sure?
what is your definition of cheap
i got a headset and it broke in a day
Recon 200
That's the name
The guy that was looking for the 5000$ build said they were good
preferably below $20, but I can go higher if necessary
It was 50$ I think
Hmm
Can't find it
oh wait... $1000
Apple earbud no mic tho
