Samsung CJG5 Series, C27JG50, 27" 16:9 1800R Curved monitor, 2560x1440 2K, 250cd/m2, 3000:1, 144Hz, 4ms (GTG), DP, 2xHDMI, Tilt, VESA mount https://m.newegg.com/product/N82E16824022734?m_ver=1
that one looks good imo
curved, 27 inches, 1440p, and 144hz
for $300
that's a good one
Kk thanks my guy
Don’t worry about the budget. Just looking for what y’all think is good
👀👀👀
that one is better
faster response time
its also very flashy if ur into that
personally i like things to be a bit more discrete
but its all up to u
you can turn off the RGB in the settings
yeah ik but even the monitor stand itself is a bit flashy
also if u want a higher than 144hz refresh rate theres this one https://m.newegg.com/product/9SIAB7177N6629?m_ver=1
but 144hz is plenty
that one i just posed has a 5ms response time tho
Ah.
Also I’m running a 1080 Ti and not planning on VESA mounting. If that changes anything
nah then ur fine
Just like to see what people think is reliable and good before making a big budget purchase like this
yeah definetly
samsung and msi are good brands
never heard of pixio though
thats not to say those are they only good monitor brands
just saying those are good ones
Gotcha. All I got now is a basic 1080p 60Hz Acer monitor
Forgot about budgeting a new monitor when building my pc 🙃
oof
A poor choice was made
Nice. My thing is I’m just wasting all this GPU power on my monitor. Plus idk what it is about it but it’s starting to be a lil rough on my eyes recently
oof
What’s the size of your monitor?
Nice. That’s another thing, my monitor is like 6 years old I think? If I’m not mistaken it’s just a 23 if not a 21 inch
Not entirely sure. Not in front of it rn
So here’s a potentially stupid question...would the average gamer be able to tell the difference when gaming on a monitor with 5 ms response vs 1 ms?
Hmmm. Maybe? Tbh I never understood how response time differed from refresh rate
Like I know they’re different. But like how?
refresh rate is how many fps you can get to
Gotcha lol that’s about where I’m at too
Yeah I get that but what’s response time
if i have a 144hz monitor and my game is running at 144fps, then i will be seeing 144 frames per second
response time is how long it takes for the monitor to display the frame
i think
So it’s the delay between the registering of the pixel and it being displayed on the screen?
So a slower response may lead to blurred images in a faster paced game?
no
Yes. I know about that and it’s called ghosting
thats refresh rate
Ok. So at the end of the day, I should be much more concerned with refresh rate rather than response
anytime
Well what I’m confused about is that hurtz is just 1/time so a 60hz monitor produces a new frame every 16.7 ms but response time talks about how long it takes a pixel to change color. You’ve got 2 separate time values for the monitor changing images. Makes me think what’s the difference between the two
Like I get that if you have a monitor that’s got a faster refresh rate than response time, ghosting will occur due to the fact that the screen is trying to produce a new image while the old image hasn’t had time to change quite yet, or something like that. But then what causes the difference between the two values

Are there any comfortable chairs that won't eat my wallet whole
well you kinda pay for comfort.
Welp, the kitchen chair it will stay.
you got 3 of them? lol
yeah my brother and sister liked it so much they got them too
oh nice.
lol
you could buy 16 of those chairs and it would still be cheaper than the apple pro stand 👀
Cool thanks
yeah
the arm rests are padded too
very nice
my only complaint is that its a bit short but not too bad
it fits perfectly with my desk at max height but idk
Yeah, my desk is pretty short too
ah perfect
Now I just need to save up for it along with a hundred other things
@young crown How long did those Furmax chairs take to get to you once they shipped?
just a couple days
Hey guys do you know if cooler master makes any keyboards with cherry mx switchs under $200
Hey
Thanks @wary veldt
The one above looks pretty sweet but I know little of keyboards and what the different colors and fruits mean. Could someone explain to me, if you have the time?
Cherry MX keyboards switches - They're all different from each other, but what they have in common is they are ALL better than membrane switches. Yuck. FORUM...
Our last video on mechanical keyboard switches came out four years ago! So we decided it was time for a second episode where we go over other types of switch...
LOL
Will definitely watch
yeah but a chart doesn't do it justice
like you know what those words mean, but maybe someone else doesn't
What's the different between bump and linear
^ see
so a keyboard switch labelled as "bump" has a physical tactile bump near the end of the switch
so you know it's been actuated
a linear switch is straight up and down, no bump or click
like the corsair silent switch
or Reds
which I absolutely love
Ok, I think I like clicky more. Any recommendations for under $200
I hardly ever use the num pad and RGB would be nice but I really just want the cheapest
lol thats just asking to lose caps
lol
Sorry I cought up on something else, thanks for the recommendations
honestly cherry mx browns have such low tactility
Does anyone else here like romer g's
I typed on a g910 orion spectrum at best buy and actually liked it lol
i dont get what the problem is and why everyone hates them
they feel like browns but stiffer and more tactile
I've never gotten to try romer switches, it seems impossible to find logitech mechanical keyboards in stores around here. You've got me curious though, because mx brown are my favorite (after using blues for years, I decided that I needed to tone down the volume), are romer g's close to browns?
I have this membrane keyboard by Raptor but that company was so good that Corsair decided to buy them out.
If you like red switches and don't need the numpad, then it should be good
Corsair make very good keyboards, but personally I very much dislike red switches
Are they clicky?
@formal girder cherry red switches are soft, not clicky.
What's best for someone who likes a clicky sound and feel
Ok thanks
Hey guys. One of the USB hubs on my RoG laptop is dead. I cant fix it. I have 2 USB 3.0 portsworking. I need to plug in 3 or 4 devices. One of those devices a high end audio interface. Would running this thru a USB hub impact performance?
@main wave If you get a good quality, preferably name brand hub, it should have little to no performance decrease.
@main wave Any one of these should work great: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=USB+hub&N= 50001315 50001450 50001821 50002204 50002031 50001112 50010418 100160872 600079080
Thanks. I may need it to provide additional power. Is this a thing? Via an ac plug or something
Nice I see one like that
https://www.newegg.com/belkin-f4u058tt-usb/p/N82E16817394218?Description=USB hub&cm_re=USB_hub-_-17-394-218-_-Product pulls power from a wall outlet @main wave
Gracias. Leaning towards that one but would prefer if it could provide power while not plugged into active USB port. (Like for charging a phone when my laptop is off) not a huge deal though. Mainly wanted to know if there would be latency issues but this seems like a solid bet.
I believe that Belkin one in the last link I sent you should charge your devices from the DC power input from the wall even without your computer on. @main wave
Is this a good budget keyboard
@formal girder That's a real random brand, you'd really be rolling the dice on quality and durability. I'd go with a cheap priced Corsair, maybe coolermaster.
I here you, but the price difference, especially since it only 27 on Amazon, is really good since I don't have room in my budget for a keyboard anyways
@formal girder There's a bunch of other good brands too of course. Here's a good msi keyboard for a low price: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16823167020
That's the cheapest gaming keyboasrd I could find on newegg that also has 4 out of 5 eggs and no mouse to go with it.
Also the one above is fully mechanical for a great price
The one above is more expensive and just membrane
I still really appreciate your help though
Well just throwing some suggestions your way. Up to you if you want to roll the dice on a..."Eagletec".
Yeah, kinda raised a red flag when I couldn't find any reviews on it but... Maybe I could be the first
hey who has a Dark Core mouse??
So which Razer headset is the best for PC ?
the Tiamat, i guess technically
I heard those had some good surround but the drivers could get vibraty
Since you said technically, did you have another in mind?
wired or wireless?
yeah, for wireless you can't go wrong between those and the Arctis 7s
yeah, they have a supposed 30 hour battery life too
I like Razer's look but not the pricing lol
I have tried Razer headsets and they feel very cheap
but, i prefer a flat response on the EQ
I will take a good pair anyday, just like the rounded look from the nari
I have had many pairs of budget headsets and had a bad experience with the HS60
Logitechs have some black ones that look good
the G533 Wireless?
My HS60 got rust on the metal mesh on the sides
Yeah
Yeah, I like Logitech for headsets
But I’m thinking of moving on to pro grade headphones
I really like those
They are probably my favorite
But my next purchase will be the Sennheiser HD6xx
I just got started in PC gaming so I'm using a apple keyboard and a Sony noise canceling ones that have a tube of super glue on them
I’ve read that open back headphones are great for gaming
i love semi-open
LMAO I started playing Fortnite with an apple magic mouse
A Logitech wired mouse that is years old but honestly feels good
Just a cheap one I stole from work
Lol
ah, i was thinking MX518
On the magic mouse you can’t use both buttons at the same time and the scrolling is too sensitive
yeah, apple mice are absolute garbage
It was horrible trying to play with that
I am realllyyyy wanting a black widow keyboard but i see cosair and logitechs for way cheaper
here's a secret
It’s actually pretty good for MacOS if you just browse the web
cheap chinese keyboards are really good
Yeah
like Redragon mechanical keyboards? top notch
I use a really good Dell mouse for final cut on my Mac and it's good af
If you ask in the mechanical keyboards subreddit you will never get recommended Razer or Corsair
I purchased a Logitech G300S mouse and I just can’t get used to other button layouts
i couldn't get used to those other 4 buttons
And I can’t find a higher quality mouse with that layout
I practically have the mouse set up like a controller
But for some games it isn’t so good
I only use WASD and space bar on my keyboard
I got a death adder elite this week and I like it
BTW, I am looking for a budget mechanical RGB keyboard with Cherry Blue switch equivalent, do you have any suggestions?
I'm semi new so don't ask me
full size or tenkeyless?
TKL
Was reading some reviews and see good
That one looks good
That will go on my list thanks
It looks like much better quality that the budget Razer KB
-$60
i was originally looking for a reddragon
it's about 30
but then a friend gave me a free razer blue switch equivalent
so im like, hey why not
I liked the feel of a Razer orange switch ,
i like blues
I don't remember if that a blue
@wary veldt How are the keycaps on the one you recommended?
which are the greens of razer
I like the Razer Purple
Browns
I don't mind clacky but until I finish off my basement/man cave walls with some padding it would drive me nuts
I have OLD keyboards
I just hate reds for typing
There’s a new keyboard from Steelseries that has customizable actuation point
I saw those
But they are very expensive and are linear switches
But isn't that just for the wasd ect keys
Must have been a different one then
Does the Logitech 935 havea decent mic?
for sure
d0es a headset that cost 150 dollars and comes from a c0mpany that has a good reputation have a g00d m1c?
lol
I have a rode podcaster
Desktop
But idk if I should use it for gaming
If I get the g35
ye
I just have boxes of tech stuff
tho for me i like the convenience of having a headset with mic
@calm cobalt what type of stuff
Ebayed most of it so I have $2000
noice
To spend on a better studio setup for my new house
Do you stream?
Wacom tablets,old MacBooks,Dell keyboards
Dell monitors
My job about threw out 120 Dell keyboards
No
But I record audio and make videos for assorted things
120 keyboards @ $15 is lucrative
How old are the MacBooks and what monitors
2010-2014s
Cool
Sold them for 300-500
Big 17" books
The monitors are 22in or something desktop ones
You can mount some pcs to the bakc of them
I worked it/tech stuff weird title for a university
Not the channel e for life I think
The dt 990's would probably be a better choice. Or the audio technica m50x or whatever they are called
Hi Everyone, need help on recommendations for wifi router setup for my office (spans 3 floors)
middle of the second floor of you can lol
@young crown Matt already helped her.
oh
Audio Technica makes some nice butt headphones, man.
I used to have a pair of original M50s for about 7 years. My older brother had a pair for even longer than that.
Finally had to retire them, only because the cushions were getting hardened from my greasy teenage head.
@thorn grove ^^
or @lost mantle
fixed
thank you
how bout next time i'll just ping mod lel
What did I miss?
no clue
People were showing their Bare Parts..... PC parts... but still...
Hey everyone, is there a discord server for headphones and audio?
And do any of you have the HD 6xx?
HD598 😦
@viral canopy audiophiles server, there are many
looks like it
My old keyboard has some non responsive keys so maybe I should get a new one lol

i'm now deciding between the arctis 9x and arctis 7
9x can work with xbox, has bluetooth support, and with slightly better audio quality
for $50 more
both headsets are wireless
the 9x also has green accents on it which i don't particularly like
you dont see the headphones when theyre on :D
Ma chair
That breaks my back
Anyone know that cheap version of the finalmouse from that other company
nvm found it
I just got one of those $80 razer chroma mice on a prime day sale for $35
Go good with my current chroma keyboard
Yeah I got the Logitech 502 for 34 bucks
I've been using a Dell office mouse from 2007
Got it at a thrift store for ¢50
Like 6 years ago I think.
It's time for an upgrade
Lol I still use a best buy special wireless mouse. When I finish my first pc build which I'm buying all the stuff now ir will be pretty
so i have a g pro wireless and want to know if i should get a logitech keyboard or if there is better
@unique sierra what is your budget for a keyboard?
whats the best headset for under 150 my turtle beach elite headset doesnt work for pc
@bleak thunder This is pretty popular and has good reviews: https://www.newegg.com/carbon-corsair-void-pro-rgb/p/N82E16826816083
SENNHEISER GAME ONE 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset https://m.newegg.com/product/N82E16826106695?m_ver=1
Best headset I've ever had
My plight continues. Well I’m fixing to finally have enough money to buy a monitor but I still have no idea what to get. Any suggestions?
I’m not looking for 4K and I’ve got a 1080ti so I can run most of whatever
Well I’ve got a pretty wide budget
Plus I’m mainly looking just for suggestions. But def won’t go over 600$
600$ will buy you most higher end monitors, you could get 4K at that price
That’s the one I have... 1080p high def... and under half of your 600$
@calm cobalt my budget is anything under $200
@unique sierra If you like Logitech, Here's a keyboard you might like: https://www.newegg.com/black-logitech-g710-plus-brown-cherry-mx/p/N82E16823126299 I'm going off of reviews, price and switches. Here's the full list though so you can look around if you want: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100160908 50001080&page=1
What’s a nice budget like laptop not to use for gaming but like discord and like YouTube @calm cobalt the max i would pay is 350.
Any good suggestions?
@indigo reef Yeah hold on
bettt
@indigo reef If you don't mind refurbs, this is an oldie but a goodie: https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000E-07UP5
Thanks bud
Best wireless headset?
What's a really good gaming mouse by corsair? Budget between 45 and 95 dollars.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KL2L19Q/?tag=10b-gm-20&th=1
This is one i use. it's actually great for fps gaming
@bleak thunder I has Astro A50s and love them, also Steel Series Wireless are apparently as good if not better than my A50s
The main thing is I'm comparing them to turtle beach elites 800 that wont work with my pc,(250$) I tried arctic 7 and a50s and so far that dont rlly come close
Yeah than look at these
Personally my A50s are better than anything Turtle beach has to offer but its also different headset designs since A50s are open air
You may like the Arctis Pro Wireless better
Was also looking at logitech g935 just heard build quality had suffered a bit
Audio Technica is also bring out a new wireless headset that looks promising
I'd probably go with them if I was in the market considering its Audio Technica and they do headphones lol
I used the A50's for a while, and honestly I hated them
The battery life was sub-par imo, the charging dock is easily the worst design I've ever had to deal with, half the time it would just stop charging on it's own
and the audio quality was ok
The dock is def not the best
the A50's made me go back to wired sennheiser game one
I never had an issue with the battery but I also have the revision 2's so
I would look at the Steelseries TBH or Audiotechnica
def your best bet
I've used 2 different steelseries headsets, one is my dedicated travel headset because it folds nice and flat
however I still think sennheiser is just superior, as long as you don't have to pack them up
My brother is going into college, best laptop for productivity and doing work?
@grizzled flint
Budget 800
i have a few suggestions
Alright
but it depends on what exactly he needs it for
does he want a thin and light laptop
he just wants a normal laptop , to type and study on
ok
he was saying like Apple
but does it need to be powerful?
like, should it be game-able
No, no gpu
ok
Doesn’t matter ab gaming just productivity
tell him to get a surface
you can find refurbed ones for that budget
they are light, portable and great feeling computer
Surface is good if you can find one at that price. Dell xps 13 is good
can you send a link?
Looks like unless you get a model with 4gb of ram they are out of the budget. 4gb isnt really enough.
I work on some Surface Pro's at..work... and their very nice, the build quality has been excellent and ive seen some folks accidentally try to "close it" forgetting that its not a laptop, and it didnt crack when it was smacked into the keyboard
and theyve all ran pretty dang fast.
I know this is a not asked a lot question but best budget rgb lights and a budget mousepad? @grizzled flint
I dont really have many budget mousepads. I have used a cheap steel series one in the past, but thats been several years ago. Right now I use a corsair mm800 which is anything but budget. I also have the corsair mm300, the extended version and have my keyboard and mousepad sitting on top of it. Its a really good mousepad for a cloth pad, but I prefer a solid surface. newegg has lots of different corsair mousepads, https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?Submit=ENE&N=100006550 50001459 40000202 8000&ActiveSearchResult=True
Bet, I’ll check it out
And do you have any rgb lights for a desk?
Like the Philip ones whatever those r called
Not sure if I should buy those
I have some cheap rgb strips I bought at walmart for $5 on clearance. They do what I need them to do, but they are not great by any means.
oh the monster ones?
ya, I they worked with my google home mini so I bought 3 of them
I like being able to tell google to turn them on and off or change colors rather than having to mess with remotes like most of the other cheap ones
I just ordered myself a newish keyboard
I can't wait for it to get here
it's an OG logitech G15, its got 54 macro keys and a fully programmable lcd display
👍
does anyone have any thoughts about this dac/amp combo? i am just looking for something better than my motherboard audio and ideally an amp that has an isolated mic input so i can bypass as much stuff in my motherboard as possible https://mayflowerelectronics.com/arc/
if anyone has any suggestions for stuff along these lines, external, powered stuff, i would be grateful
16 ohm headset, i would like to avoid getting a stand alone mic as the one on my headset is pretty nice
maybe i am misunderstanding that amp i linked but i presume the mic input there is just a passthrough
motherboard has optical out if that has any relevance
For those that do, what's everyone using for keyboard/ mouse at work? I'm thinking of getting something better than this basic Microsoft one I have at work. Something mechanical perhaps? I'm almost tempted to even go trackball on the mouse.
this looks great
looks like chiclet keys to me
yeah but chiclet keys
whateverrrrr

ill also recommend this
it has macros which can be helpful
if you have frequent apps you use during work you can bind them to open when you press each button
its also mechanical
the one i posted has a whack ton more macro keys for half the price
Chiclet keys aren't terrible. Used them when I was all Apple/ Mac products
yep
TOO BAD THE SOFTWARE DOESNT WORK
Redragon's software works fine
ive had a reddragon mouse, the software was terrible
for me at least
no peripheral software works with my pc
i hate it
so much
i can't justify spending $150 on a keyboard again
that lack of backlight
I'm a touch typist so I rarely look at my keyboard
yeah, same, it's just an added bonus
i like a clean white backlight so i don't go for the RGB stuff
Was looking at this too: https://www.newegg.com/logitech-910-005177-mx-ergo/p/N82E16826197302
one of the best trackballs you can get
Sometimes I just get lazy to move my wrist around. lol
what are track balls even used for
they're excellent, actually
I know I've had users who needed to use a trackball or vertical mouse because of health issues
especially for cramped spaces and less abled people
Yeah, I have a Ergotron standing desk and the keyboard/ mouse tray area space is lmited

@young crown knew you were young but dang
Track balls... and what are they used for... just shows how young you are. Lol
Nothing to be ashamed of. Your smart... just showing the age. Lol
i know the kind on the bottom of the mouse
you know, the thing about razer, not only do they have a worse reputation for their products than most other brands, their software is hot steaming garbage
lol
just cant fix this trash software, not even threads online have a solution
actually trash, ive tried everything.
im just gonna wait a few days and see if it'll fix it
the worst things about it are when it comes to razer synapse updates.
unpopular opinion: razer synapse is the only software that works with my pc so i like iy
it*
that stuff can mess up someones life
When I had Razer products, I didn't have too many issues with Synapse
Logitech G Hub bugs out on me sometimes though
and my razer ornata chroma is the best keyboard ive ever had
only reason i need the software is for the rgb for my keyboard, if i didnt get this keyboard for free, i woulda never looked at another razer product
hardware already spotty, software is bad, good company, not even the mods on reddit have an answer
0/10 would n0t recommend
lol i paid $80 for my logitech mouse and the software doesnt work
Idk how u have never seen a trackball zack
ive seen them before
so i just use the gaming software instead
I got my G Pro TLK and Mouse from Costco when they ran the $99 deal
i just didnt know the use
TKL*
Oh
He has
that stuff looks weird lamo
Have u never notice the trackball mice didnt have a sensor
gotta love em balls
ive been stuck with this disgusting static color for more than a day n0w
boi.
I'm waiting but probably end up going with that K840 and trackball mouse from Logi
Let my co-workers hear me clicking away as I respond to tickets. lol
I have Cherry Greens on my desk at the office and Gateron Blues at my client site. Everyone hates me. lol
I wouldn't say that Logitech software is good, but I don't think it's bad either, it's ok
Logitech G Hub is crap rn
It won't sync my keyboard to my games half the time since I downloaded it
I should uninstall it
I've never had an issue with Razers stuff
Although I don'
know if I like the FIrefly hard mouse pad
Absolutely try to use LGS - logitech gaming software if you can. Even if it's not on the compatibility list.
@torn dagger Here's some things you can try: 1. uninstall G HUB, then re-install 2. make sure you have the latest version 3. try a different version.
@calm cobalt just uninstalling it worked thanks
@torn dagger You only uninstalled it and did not re-install it? 😃
Just used Logitech game software
I'm looking into some addressable rgb strips to put in my build; what's a good brand of those rgb strips? Note that I have an Asus Mobo that has aura sync.
Are beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250 ohms worth the money?
@stray bridge If you can afford it, yes, for sure. Considering the 4.5 star-5 egg reviews, it must be really good.
Yeah I can, I just want to be sure they're as good as possible before I drop 150+
Can someone help me with this strange issue
I have Corsair Strafe RGB and every time I restart or boot into my Windows I need to open the iCue software and enable lightning manually
It was not like this until couple of months ago when a new firmware was pushed to the keyboard
Any help?!
@untold prawn You can try this: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025465031-Keyboard-Reset if that does not help, let us know?
@untold prawn You can also try uninstalling the iCue software and re-install it, or try a different version of iCue.
Yea soft reset didnt work
@calm cobalt I already tried uninstalling and installing iCue
@untold prawn did you try a different version of iCue?
ok
same thing
@untold prawn I would either email them or call them and see if they can help you put different firmware on it: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
The numbers are toll free on that page^
If you live in the USA that is.
Everyone ranting and raving about Glorious Mice and that other company making mice with holes in them lol Are they REALLY that good.
Aerodynamics man...
lol
Time to clean and fix this beauty
@crisp axle Wow, is there a date of manufacture on a sticker on the back of that? Thing looks like it's from the early-mid 90's.
Anyone know of any decent cheap headphones
define cheap
budget?
https://slickdeals.net/f/13273630 I just saw these on the front page. Probably a good value. Budget?
Do i need a 7.1 sound card in order for a 7.1 headset to work?
Which headset @calm cobalt
There are only a few true 7.1 headsets. The rest are all simulated through software
Steelseries artics 3
That's not true 7.1, it's simulated through Microsoft software insound settings
Google windows Sonic spactial audio
It will tell you all about it
And how to enable it
What would you recommend me?
Nope I was about to
I wouldn't buy it
I recommend better headset that is open ear if you're concerned about good sound
sennheiser game one
You have to understand that there are no real 5.1 or 7.1 headsets
They are all basically 2.0
Software and quality of headset will matter more for audio
Ok thanks for letting me know
Anyone have a chair recommendation? Just built my first PC. But haven't been able to enjoy for to long because I have a terrible chair right now lol
price to quality is amazing in this chair
i have 2 of them
if you got more of a budget and want to go all out get like a dxracer or secret labs chair
Awesome thanks!
sure np
its also $60
and i like the balance from being a normal office chair and a gaming chair
Yeah I have no doubts it’s a good chair I’m just talking from a purely visual standpoint
o
I love my Corsair keyboard I really do but the brushed metal on the top collects dust tooooooooo fasttttttt
pickin up a model o at micro center tonight bois
Noice I love mine
Anyone have experience with the sennheiser game zero? Been looking at getting one and want to know what others think. It seems to have good sound and a great mic for a headset. I was looking at wireless but they all have absolute trash mics
What is the best gaming keyboard I can buy? Price isn't really an issue, but I don't want to spend unnecessary cash. I guess I'm looking for a popular keyboard , that is also mechanical, relatively quiet, and I guess has good LED RGB options
That’s pretty broad imo
Some options I have considered were Corsair k70, Corsair k95, ducky one 2 mini(60%$, Anne pro 2(60%), and this one is clicky and loud but razer huntsman elite
Oh and also glorious pc gaming race has their gmmk keyboard which you can choose the switch type, keycaps, and size of it
Corsair k95 platinum with silver/speed switches

It's quiet, linear and doesn't need to be pushed far to register
It's like heaven on your fingers if reaction time is your thing
Non clicky
Can approve^ k70 also can have silver/speed switches but doesn’t have macro keys or the top RGB bar
And very good RGB and macro customized
Yes
Anything with silver/speed is great
My only complaint is k95's size
Even the k70 I complain about the size
How do i get different switches for keyboards? Do i have to buy them like that, or are they interchangable?
Most of the time it's built in
Unless you go custom vendor route
The Corsair keyboards are pretty good for Mass product
Just need one with good switches like solver
Silver/speed*
Or red if you're on a budget
link me the best one for 100 bucks and ill buy it
lol
whats with the complaints on the k70 and k95 size? too big or to small?
other than the numpad, key spacing is still the same right?
i never use the numpad. i have that built into my mouse lol
Oh k70 does have numpad
a keyboard with normal keyspacing and no numpad would actually be great
for desk space for me
Just go to Newegg and type k70 cherry mx speed or k95 cherry mx speed
CORSAIR gaming keyboards are designed from the highest quality materials and provide dynamic per-key RGB lighting. Unleash unreal performance with our mechanical, wireless and membrane keyboards.
any keyboards of similar quality without the numpad? i literally never use it
and could use the extra few inches between the KB and Mouse
Yeah, k65 cherry mx speed
Go search for it
They are really well made keyboards
Well worth the investment
My super old Corsair k60 has lasted for over 6 years
My k95 is fantastic
You said you wanted quiet
Red and speed switches is what you're looking for
There is no click or tactile bump when pressing
They are called "linear" switches
Without the numpad keyboards are called tenkeyless. Search for tenkeyless keyboards. Glorious’ gmmk has a tenkeyless option
Also if you reallyyyy want to be more quiet, you can buy o-rings
Lol I like the silver speeds but I also like noise so I like to bottom out when I’m not using my headset but when I am the 1.2 mm actuation distance is nice
I currently use that. It's not bad for $70 new on ebay or something, not sure if I'd pay full price.
It's my first romer-g keyboard, figured I'd give the switched a try. The shift key and space bar feel particularly mushy.
I've used cherry blues, gateron reds, and otemu browns in the past. I want to try either some pada or topre switches in a new build.
Ok, well i guess i just want a tenkeyless keyboard with the most universally liked switches for gaming
Cherry/gateron reds are very commonly recommended for gaming. I used them (gaterons) in a relatively cheap keyboard, the $60 qisan magicforce, it was loud despite the red switches. I think it was due to the cheap plastic construction. I tried blue o-rings, didn't help much, users online said that you could add tape to some of the surfaces inside, but I haven't tried that.
Brown switches do have a tactile feedback and a click sound
they're nowhere near as loud as blues, but still louder than linear switches
Brown switches aren’t supposed to make clicks though????
You will always have a click from the tactile feedback, it's very minor on browns though, especially compared to blues
mhm
Any good switches that have tactical feedback but aren't loud
You can also try youtube and searching for the differences in sounds as well, that should help narrow down your choices @atomic sable
I'm pretty sure this is where this would go but i need a new headset for my pc as my turtle beaches died today. I don't want turtle beach so what would you guys recommend?
preferably wired.
sennheiser game one @ashen mantle
ok thank you
2nd on sennheiser game one, best headset I've ever had
guys got any recommendations for mpads for speed and control
How large?
What are your thoughts on a hard mouse mat
I use a corsair one, I think I kinda prefer the hard plastic mouse mats over fabric
I have the razer sphex v2 currently and its one of the best mouse mats i've ever used. One clear benefit is that they're easy to clean off. It mostly comes down to preference in my opinion. I think they're a bit smoother than soft mats, but many people dont like the hard ones
I have a hard mat right now. recently my mouse has been sticking a bit to the surface, so I wiped it with alcohol and that seemed to make it better. It still is a little sticky tho and I think it is my mouse feet, they are very worn. I'm just trying to think wether it is the mouse or mat that is making it stick
I wanna sell my mouse and keyboard together
What could I sell it for?
Logitech g413 carbon and corsair m65 pro fps mouse
Probably 50% of msrp. Using someone elses peripherals is kinda gross, with all the gamer grease and all @acoustic delta
"gamer grease"
never heard that before lmao
we humans just call it hand grease or whatever
why would you sell that, I have the same keyboard and it works great
@calm cobalt I clean my stuff everyday and wash my hands a lot lmao
@lapis hazel I want a smaller sized keyboard
I love it too but yeah I want a smaller sized keyboard
Gamer grease has sweat, food, and other unidintifiable slime. Much worse than generic grease
Oh I don't sweat on my hands since I have a fan to dry my sweat whenever I do, I don't eat food when I game too
Reason: Bad word usage
woahhh gotta stay kid friendly lol
Smaller, like without a num pad?
@sturdy topaz Many streamers use a blue yeti, there's a couple on this page AT $100: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=blue+yeti
Do you currently have a an interface, mixer or pre-amp? Or are you looking for a USB solution
@sturdy topaz I have a Blue ember and it sounds amazing, but requires an interface
No interface nor pre amp and mixer. But would really love to get one. Just dont know how much it would really cost in total
It might be more cost effective to go with an all-in-one like the blue yeti someone mentioned. Just keep in mind xlr is upgradable. Whatever works best for you.
i need a keyboard , $75 or under, mechanical ofc
ive been looking at the razer blackwidow
I like the first one
Blue = tactile + loud click, red is linear and silent. Check out a "keyboard switch sampler" on ebay
Don't really know what tactile means, I haven't had a mechanical before
But I need it soon, no spare keyboards around and I figured if I was gonna get a new one it might as well be a good one
My two cents - typically "silent" switches like the cherry or gateron reds used as part of a cheapo keyboard still make a loud keyboard.
if you play a lot of first person shooters and dont like microsecond delay in your reaction get a linear switch 😄
reds/speed/silver are fannnnnntastic
I have a keycool 87 in cherry blue, a g pro with romer-g's, and some velocifire with otemu browns. The Qisan magicforce was the $60 full size board with gateron reds that was still loud even after adding blue o-rings.
Internet says I can take it all apart and mod some bits, but I don't like linear anyway.
I want to build something like a zealio 67g purple 87 key from scratch/kit, maybe a panda/topre build later.
STUPID MIC isnt working... grrrrr
Check to see if you have any driver update for it then or is it just your mic in general
Check your discord settings
if by chance you're on the browser version mic is muted by default
Did you play around with these settings https://i.gyazo.com/74282b90838db99937042f5c22441e56.png
Oh ya and are you also playing a game right now?
If you are using the actual app when playing a game you have to run it as admin and for the browser version wont work if you're in a game
nope.. no game.. Reset everything to default.. and then adjusted 1 thing at a time
mine is on Voice activity as well. and on the Test it shows me talking..
but the actual Chat page they cant hear me
In General 1 right now... and dont get the green circle around my pic when talking
That is because no one else is in there with you
@fierce panther try push to talk
Also i am too lazy and tired to plug in my headset to use my mic
can you go in chat 1 real fast? see if you can hear me
the hot key is atleast giving me the circle
NVM
what's a good 1080p 60fps camera
anyone have a recommendation for a tenkeyless keyboard with mx brown switches?
price range? @lusty pendant
no specific price range, I like a quality product
Have you tried mx browns or other switches? If so on what keyboards
I use mx browns on my current corsair k70 and they've been my favorite, I used blues in the past on older razer blackwidow, as well as reds on a hyperx keyboard
I like how blues feel, but they're a bit too loud, and I don't like the reds
I have no issue with my k70, I'm just looking for a tenkeyless keyboard for when I'm away from home for work.
Also if there's any non-cherry switches that are similar to browns, I'm open to suggestions
any color/rgb requests @lusty pendant ?
I'd like RGB, and prefer gunmetal gray or darker
gotcha
not a lot of ones with browns, but here’s one https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=4284
yeah I'm not really sure why browns aren't popular, it seems most mechanical keyboards are going with red or speed switches, but I really like to have a tactile feedback
I have the MK version of that ducky
its the MK disco with browns
but they are kbt switches
what's the MK version, and what are kbt switches?
What is your budget this time and for what kind
So I wanna sell my corsair m65 pro fps
And logitech g413 carbon keyboard
And get like a tkl keyboard and mouse
What could I sell those for and what should I get?
average used price for the mouse is 60$ and the keyboard 100$
Well the cost for new things does tend to go up
I have the boxes for them too
What do you think I could sell them for?
And in a bundle or separate
I would do it asperated if you are selling on ebay but if you are selling on Facebook do a price for each one and then a price for it being together and always when selling together you sell for a little less
So lets say it is 100$ for the keyboard and 60$ for the mouse when selling it together you do 150$ cause people will bite faster
Oh
I do that with games as well when selling on facebook
I pretty much gave you the prices
Just work with that for now if no one bites within a week lower the price by 10$ for each
OkY
Okay
So 100$ for the keyboard?
They are used
But on ebay its 50$ refurbished
I'll put it at 45$ for the keyboard
25$ for the mouse
Since it goes 32$ new on Ebay
So 77$
What should I buy with 77$
I wish
If you are selling those to get a new keyboard and mouse and if those are still working great i would say to keep using them
I want a smaller keyboard and glossy mouse since my hands get sweaty
TKL referred since I need to arrow keys for editing
Or just a mouse for sweaty hands
Ay im tryna get a model o mouse and a glorious Hmmm with kalih box whites
hey guys can you help
i have a head set and i wanna try to connect it to my computer but its to far away from my head what should i do about it
uh like the cords too short?
Go wireless/Bluetooth
I have sweaty hands and planning to get the model o, which would be better for me, glossy or matte?
@austere sandal bring your PC closer to you
depends on each person
same as people have different favorite colors
whatever you like
same as people that like RGB or not
I am thinking of replacing my keyboard for this with a small media keyboard https://redragonusa.com/products/keyboard/K583-RGB - IDA/174
Is the razer seiren x a good mic?
@unique bane how would you type if you replace your keyboard with that?
@lusty pendant You do know i said i would have a small media keyboard as well
that what i linked is for gaming
I thought you were calling that a media keyboard lol
I got my ducky one 2 today, and man, these brown switches feel way different from my corsair k70
although I think the keys might be a bigger difference than the switches
o how is it?
it feels nice, I remember reading a lot of people say how important good keycaps are, and with this keyboard I can see what they were talking about, the keys just feel really good on the fingers
the switchers are super smooth, the only thing I feel along the key press is the small tactile bump as browns are supposed to have, but otherwise it feels like I don't bottom out the keys nearly as much as I do with the corsair, so they're quieter too
overall I'm rather impressed with it so far
I was considering buying it, but I decided to get more use out of my naga trinity before replacing it. Friend bought it and seems to really enjoy it. I’ll ask him how it compares to the other mice he’s had.
I've owned multiple razer mice in the past and now I'm just biased against their quality
Never had one last me over a year.
Ive had two logitechs. my mx518 first version lasted me so long the scroll wheel sensor broke, second one I wore the right click out. and now I have a g502, and its amazing, Ill end up wearing the coating off it
not as much luck with this g910 keyboard though. Likes to double type randomly
I just got a G502 hero yesterday and really like it
My G910 is really nice too
It's relatively quiet
a bunch of the blue LED's have burned out for me
so I have random red keys
its been over 2 years though
yee. 12 blue led keys have poofed
Dang
was it made in Hong Kong?
Just things made in Hong Kong usually doesn't last that long and dies out
oh XD
I have viper. The only thing I dislike about it is my right click button is slightly loose and sometimes rubs on the left click button. Also the switches feel very different but very tactile. @brave maple
I like the razer viper because it feels like the perfect weight to me and doesn’t have the honeycomb design. The tracking feels very accurate when I play osu! Much more accurate than my G602
I checked Razer stuff at best buy and didn't really care for it :l idk what everyone likes about it
I’m not sure too much about the other mice, but I really like the viper.
I was between that and the g pro, but I didn’t like the feel of the g pro
I don't have an issue with how razer feels and performs, it's just the quality.
I'm willing to spend the money on quality product, but it better last me more than a year
ikr
I feel like with razer the products have very good performance but break down too easily
The death adder elite feels really nice but the quality feels kind of eh compared to a logitech or something
pretty sure everyone that's used razer products for the while would agree
their laptops might be the only exception
any one have some recommendations for headsets
typically in the us$100-150 range
USB or 3.5mm doesn't matter
Sennheiser game one
Why is no one talking about corsair lol
I have the m65 pro or something and it's super great
astro a20
astro sound quality is mediocre at best, and the battery life/slow charging made me switch back to wired
unless you absolutely need wireless, the sennheiser game one will do everything better than astro a20 for the same price
Does anyone have any idea what this thing is because I have no idea what it is.
firewire
Seriously?
It goes into the same slot as a networking card but has absolutely nothing to do with networking
It's pretty old
@young crown I found it in this old Dell optiplex
@carmine torrent wrong channel to post that in
Also the connection for that network card if i recall is PCI
I could assume it is an older network card or an expansion for an external
But that looks to be from the Pentium era
Well it was in a Dell optiplex 7010
