You recommend the cooler master td500 mesh over corsair 275r airflow?
Looks like it might be equal or better since there’s only mesh on the TD500
What does mesh do?
Its better for airflow and it’ll catch some dust
Ahh ok cool
Yep
Oh here comes egg
The true TD500 mesh fanboy
Yessir
Or fangirl idk
Welcome
I don’t have a TD500 mesh 😛
Fanboy to very much
Alright just making sure

anyone know of any decent M-ATX cases that are relatively cheap?
I don't know where to ask this, but, generally, are surge protecters recommended for builds?
Yes
@flint laurel Darkflash DLM21 mesh
@chrome iris I like it. def bookmarked
I’m have the non-mesh version and am probably gonna just get the mesh version and then using the non mesh for a Pc flip
get the mesh rnrnr
TD500 mesh is great, I kinda wanted the black one but white will do
MB311L @flint laurel
Kinda hard to beat for 60 bucks. Mesh front, 2 argb fans, tempered glass, radiator support, psu shroud
question - what is the best looking mini-itx case on the market?
Depends on your taste
i'm hoping for tall and skinny
Pretty sure there are normal atx cases that do that
Maybe not. Here's one from a quick google search: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-Mini-ITX-Computer-RVZ02B/dp/B0161UXX9W
Make sure you check thermals
that's pretty good!
thermals shouldn't be too big of a problem. I'm going to be undervolting a lot
total system utilization at load ~200W
Motherboard box + box cutter
i was hoping for something that looked like a router 😉
MB311L vs darkFlash DLM21
nvm I think the MB311L wins cuz it has preinstalled fans
better for value
Wow, such a great deal for shipping!

Are they packing it in a metal crate?
It's on Newegg but sold by "sennow" https://www.newegg.com/product/9SIAGKCBG09637
Corsair Carbide 275R
What about it
it a good case
Any opinions on be quiet! System Power U9 500W
Ambitions are only i7-4790 and GTX 1650 Super
@ me pls
👀
@lofty pewter what do you think about the U9?
It looks decent compared to the CX450 on the tier list
Or the CX grey sticker series at least
It also seems to be decently reviewed on Tom's Hardware
Isn't it just great when the moment you get all of your parts except your psu, suddenly all psus either go out of stock or spike in price

@vocal tree what tier on the tier list is it again?
whats everyones opinion on my psu i have a seasonic focus 750w 80+ gold. im gonna be running a ryzen 7 3700x and an rtx 2060 super graphics card
@patent berry that’s a good power supply. You shouldn’t have any problems
@vocal tree well your system is not going to be very demanding. I’d say get CX if possible, but if not that System Power should work fine
Okey :>
I wish I could order CX on Newegg on backorder
Just OOS atm :(
B&H has the U9 orderable on backorder I think
At least I have it on Auto Notify
Power supplies am I right

if people need PSUs, my local shop has some in stock and will ship nationwide - https://www.centralcomputer.com/all-products/hardware/power-supplies/cc/in_store:Yes.html?p=1&product_list_limit=60&product_list_order=low_to_high - their current list of in stock stuff
Page 1 | CentralComputers.com – Computer Parts, PC Components, Computer repair and more! | In Store: Yes
i picked up an evga 450 br for $50, but did local pick up, so idk what shipping costs
does anyone know if itd be possible to spraypaint the mesh white on this case https://www.newegg.com/fractal-design-meshify-c-white-tg-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811352087
@vocal tree U9 seems fine. Decent protections layout and good enough quality. Seems to be dual rail on 12v rail each of which has ~310w limit before protections shutdown. I assume one rail is to the CPU and the other is to the GPU+whatever else which means a limit of ~310w on the CPU and the GPU, even if you are only using one of them at a time (cheap single rails like CX dont have issues like these where you have a smaller limit then expected for a specific component. Pricier multi rails will usually have more rails to be able to split up each PCIe power port and have one rail per cable for example). So 2080S is about the max you can go before protections kick in due to ~310w limit. Probs ideal to go max of 2070S or smth. 12v ripple compared to CX grey is meh. CX still wins by a decent amount tho U9 is more then good enough. 3.3v transient response on the U9 isnt that great, but also no one needs good 3.3v transient response so meh. Lastly couple of meh caps here and there. Should last a decent amount of time as I assume you arent hitting full load 24/7 in semi-hot environment, but worth noting
Whoa that’s a lot of words
also sleeve bearing fan. So fan lifespan is a bit lower then usual
eh, small wall of text. Havent done that in a while
Good to know ^^
Thanks Hei
I need to learn more about PSUs so I can judge them a bit more independently 😅
I’ve learned quite a bit about PSUs in this last month or so
Only got a more ideal understanding of multi rail like 1.5 weeks ago
Not as much as what Hei knows though
Knowledge is power 😤
but also more responsibility, which me being lazy is meh
Where do you find out all this stuff Hei
I get the info from reviewers. Usually goto the LTT thing and then look at sources
search through the review and see what I can make of it
ye. Probs the one thing I really need to learn soon-ish is more hardware based stuff. Learning more about caps and topology
But im also not an electrical engineer so seems like a lot of learning
Yeah I get it
hiddy ho
What do y’all think about the NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case?
My original build was housed in a NZXT full tower, while it is a sleek looking case inside and out I have to question the front intake airflow?
@hexed yoke looks clean. Airflow is not so clean. Pretty bad airflow.
Ya bad airflow
td500 mesh gang
My Corsair RMX 650w 80 plus gold died in one week
https://www.newegg.com/antec-zen-ne600g-600w/p/N82E16817371126 should i pick it up?
Ya. I don’t have a different one to test for certain but my voltage tester is showing nothing at all coming out. So it seems for sure thats it unless I’m missing something
How can I tell if my mobo can fit in a case?
@scenic lance use pcpp
Do tell me 🙃
@scenic lance check the form factor the case supports, most motherboards are itx or atx form factor.
can anyone help find this case?
Looks like a knockoff TT case
GameMax AutoBot full aluminum with 4xUSB and rainbow addressable fan, Mod Gaming chassis with Unique aesthetic design, terrific dream masterpiece, the body of aluminum chassis is processed by CNC machine tools subtly, Addtional tempered glass dual side panel for expand maximu...
Couldn;t find anywhere to buy it, so oyu'll have to look for that yourself
Radiator support is sad
looks like a 240 will fit off the top
Yeah
I wasn't planning on dumping anything hotter than a 2800XT anyway
3800xt?
correct I missed a digit typing
anyway whats worse is what I have planned for the kids
Dell Optiplex 9010 Tower Computer Intel Core i5 3470 16GB 1TB HDD DVD Windows 10 Professional New Free Keyboard, Mouse,Power cord,WiFi Adapter
I intend to dump four of these into gaming cases with a gtx 1050ti vid card upgrade
no i'll replace it with this https://www.newegg.com/topower-nano-series-top-800wb/p/N82E16817342047
standard dell is 300watt and doesnt support gpus
i basically save about 600 usd as the kids wont play anything more demanding than roblox, fortnite, and pso2 na
i save about 800 usd
@soft basin get a better PSU
With a build that low-end a TT smart could work
or a corsair CV would be better
but what would that cost, and every corsair psu I've ever purchased has blown up
And I can't find a 800 watt modular Thermatake psu anywhere for $84.99
How many Corsairs have you bought?
This is the first report I've seen of one exploding
Not to mention what model? You can easily get some really cheap Corsair/Seasonic/EVGA/whatever PSU and exploit it's missing protections to have it go haywire or smth.
two in a row purchased from my local Best Buy CORSAIR - RM Series 750W ATX12V 2.52/EPS12V 2.92 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply - Black
replace by a EVGA also purchased from Best Buy EVGA - 850W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply - Black
Sorry but Cosair Keyboards, Mice, Headsets are great, but their PSU's are junk to me.
Are those the ones that got recalled?
doin't know I just will never buy Corsair again...
the system it failed to sustain is Asus B350 Plus mobo with a Ryzen 1500x and a GTZ 1060 vga
Nothing was overclocked so it didnt make any sense
Recalls was on SF series
Anyways, bad batches can also happen. But quality wise no EVGA PSU that is the same price as a RM will get better quality if you aren't unlucky
I actually thought I was buying a high end unit with a Corsair RMX650w. Reading their whole Japanese conductor line story I figured it would last forever. Now I’ve ordered a Seasonic 750w 80+ gold with 10 years warranty
See Sonic

$200 USD for a single rail 750w? Overpaying by a lot there man
RM750 is like $135 on average even with the bad pricing
this is retail not online purchases, you have to pay the department stores rent and i needed a psu in a hurry.
anyway does anyone know where i can purchase this?
I wasn't able to find anywhere selling it
Isn’t it still just a concept? @soft basin They only showed it I think. It’s not yet in production
Not too sure about that, I think it got delayed because of Covid 19 at best https://www.gamemaxpc.com/productkkk/showproduct.php?id=586
GameMax AutoBot full aluminum with 4xUSB and rainbow addressable fan, Mod Gaming chassis with Unique aesthetic design, terrific dream masterpiece, the body of aluminum chassis is processed by CNC machine tools subtly, Addtional tempered glass dual side panel for expand maximu...
there is way too much info to just be a concept case
Its more like a delayed production, but that isn't the issue
the issue is the limited number of vendors that carry GameMax products
Why does my computer keep shutting down and some times say power surges detected??
Somebody help me
Hey folks, new Discord user here, but longtime NewEgg customer. I have a burnt-out "ATX 400W Switching Power Supply" unit made by Soly Tech, model SL-F400. Would anyone be able to suggest a reliable, compatible, and affordable replacement, please?
@arctic turret What are your system specs?
iBUYPOWER Desktop PC ARC SERIES NE781K Intel Core i5 4690K (3.50 GHz) 8 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD 120 GB SSD AMD Radeon R7 250X 1 GB Windows 8.1 64-Bit
I can copy the specs page, but it is extensive.
It's a standard power supply?
It is the original power supply that came with the order.
It was a pre-built?
Yes
That might be tricky then. Can you take a picture of the motherboard?
It appears that my button for posting pictures is greyed out
You can DM it to me
You're not allowed to post pictures until you've talked for a bit, to cut down on spam and trolls
Understandable
Cool, so it seems to be a standard layout
that looks like it should do the trick. thank you!
Cool 👍
Anyone have experience updating the MB/CPU in a Dell Dimension 5150 case?
Hello, I have a few questions. I have about 1500 dollars and im building gqming computer, I wonder iwhich one is better i5 9th gen or amdx570 ryzen 5 or 7. And asus rog strix f gaming motherboard is good?
@scenic lance it really depends on what you want to achieve. Why don’t you bing on reviews for a bit and understand the differences between Intel and Ryzen
@oblique lark ok thx for helping
I have the asus rog strix 470f for my mobo and it's good, I've been enjoying it
@scenic lance Here come to build chat and I will make you a 1.5 k list
Airflow looks restricted
@scenic lance a corsair 220t would be better and comes with 3 rgb fans and hub
along with good airflow
any reasonable cases under 40?
oooh long link
Dear jeebus
I'm suprised bot didn't think that was spam
bruh
Thaks for the shorten Forks
@willow hollow
I really like the HEC compucase one's
Can always check what newegg.com has on sale too
Most of these are from Newegg's eBay store
I keep forgetting they have that
yeah crazy stuff
yeeeeee
might take a look at the deepcool case
Cable management is pretty bad, but it's got good looks
I've used it twice
both times I failed at cable management
Although both of those times were kinda early in my PC building life
very early actually
Very nice pc tho, and I love the mouse
What hideous case designs
??
?
basic budget cases with either leds or rgb fans
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1521075-REG/ Good case or nah?
looks great
but I'm super cheap so i am buying this for the kids https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811197004
Yo that’s a pretty good case for the price
only one preinstalled fan and front panel seems quite meh in terms of airflow
DIYPC case
there is cheap but not better
@lofty pewter Who uses preinstalled fans? I snatch them out for my favorite 3/4 pin fans
This is yet another choice
well if you are going for cheap stuff, generally having preinstalled fans helps a lot considering you're trying to save money. As case fans arent used to be cooling CPU/GPU heatsink they dont need to be quiet at high-ish RPMs as you dont really need to run case fans at high RPMs
This is my LED bling fan of choice for case/radiator fans
I have RGB fans, bloat ware, and a controller made by Cooler Master. And personally I hate em now, ring fans are more appealing in the long run in my opinion...
Decent psu?
@teal creek yes it’s good quality, but the CXM PSUs have coil whine issues a lot, which might be a dealbreaker for some people.
Correct, I for one will never buy Corsair again....
Only the CXM PSUs have that problem. The CX power supplies don’t. Corsair makes some good stuff sometimes, don’t stay away from a brand just because of one bad experience.
TOPOWER SilentEZ TOP-500SE 500W ATX12V V2.3 Semi-Modular Power Supply
It’s just coiled up like a snake
I don't get the appeal of semi-modular
Have wires you don't alway need but just not as much
*always
It's to try to be cheaper and kinda have modular
Well this one for example has the mobo power and the CPU power only, which are needed all the time
but comparing with same quality semi is usually like $5 - $10 cheaper
lots of low quality semi's tho
Rofl ok lets start by facing the reality of PC components, name brands don't always equal reliability.
I use modular over wired because I am lazy and don't like having to tie/tuck/and hide unused psu wiring. It's easier to just install what you need, second I use a lot of Apexgaming or Topower psu.
Why because I've had no blowouts, or multiple RMA on any other them since 2017, my Corsair psu's popped in a matter of days after purchase.
Finally these are PC build for kids ages 10-15 as entry level gaming rigs, so are AMD 970 or fx990 mobo's with fx-8350 cpu's teamed with gtx 1060 6gb gpu's.
ok? so uhh if its for an entry level gaming rig and being sold
non modular might be better for future upgrades
Next set will be 4th gen intel i5-4570 cpu's teamed with gtx-1050ti on msi b85-g43 mobo's to save a buck after building the first five.
there is one ryzen 1500x cpu on a b350 mobo for benchmarking comparisons.
Actually I have been burned with Corsair liquid coolers and RMA's too, so it was long in coming.
Yup did a case transfer and this cooler took a dump
really?
ive yet to have a corsair product fail on me
but then for that type of build i would get a thermaltake smart
im trying to find a nice M-ATX case. I was going to get a Coolermaster MB320L case but they were out of stock
I like the corsair 280x
bought the mb320L found it on amazon again
been researching cases and wondering, since i see the Fractal Design Meshify series recommended so much, can anyone comment on if the extra space in the S2 would be that detrimental to airflow compared to the C ? (assuming no water cooling, just a simple build)
and also if anyone can recommend something comparable to those that'd be cool. the CM TD500 looks nice but lacks a usb-c port which i'd like to include if possible.
@blissful ruin so... you want a case with front usb c connectors?
yep
I've seen that in a lot of builds and it looks nice but I was looking more for comparable mesh fronts if possible.
Seen a lot of criticism about airflow on it
This one should satisfy
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1560593-REG/lian_li_lancool2_w_lancool_ii_tempered_glass.html/?ap=y&gclid=CjwKCAjwrvv3BRAJEiwAhwOdM7H9HKwVOuofgCBmuGcqQKbOKfIpzAaiDpSqGfIlc5nd9nl2va9MrhoCuQQQAvD_BwE&lsft=BI%3A514&smp=y
@blissful ruin
Any good recommendations for a 550w psu?
There is a PSU tier list pinned in this channel. Try something b-tier or above, c-tier at the very minimum
that's a decent case as well. though seems like it's not as strong as the S2 for airflow but definitely will consider it as an option. btw, anyone have an opinion on tempered glass vs dark tint tempered glass? i might end up with a bit of rgb, but not much, and wondering exactly how dark tint is
hmm
darkFlash DLM21 MESH - specs says front only accepts 120mm fans, but looking at pictures, I think I see 140mm mounting holes. Anybody here can confirm if 140mm fans fit on front?
trust specs
@pastel violet I have the non-mesh and it does 140mm, but idk about the mesh
@pastel violet I have the non-mesh and it does 140mm, but idk about the mesh
@chrome iris I saw a youtube build on the mesh with 120mm fans, there seems to be a bigger mounting holes just beside. Thanks for confirming. I was thinking between Meshify C Mini and DLM21 Mesh.
Aight then
Hey i have a question for anyone who might know. Im building a pc for my friend and i was going to get him the Corsair Spec-Delta RGB and a noctua NH-U12S. The max cooler clearance for the case is listed at 160mm and the cooler is 158mm tall. Ive never worked with a tower cooler before so if anyone would know if thats enough clearance or has this combination of parts some advice would be much appreciated.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1559443-REG/cooler_master_mcb_d500d_kgnn_s01_masterbox_td500_mesh_airflow.html/overview hey im getting this case is there a better case like it? i can show u what my current build is gonna be if u want to see it to
and i plan on putting more storage into it eventually
That would be the case I recommend
yeah
At that price point it can't be beat
someguy said it was bad
yea ikr
If gamers nexus likes it you know its good
td500 mesh is the best case at the price point behind p400a
@ebon ingot explain yourself
Bruhuhuh
We are the TD500 mesh love club
then he said get better motherboard with money
that's nothing against the case
that's just saying you could go cheaper case :P
...
I love looking in my td500 mesh and seeing my gpu fans not spinning
one sec
🤔 idk
He might be talking about the original td500
yea og td500 wasn't great without mesh
ok so im getting thatcase
I had it :p
Maybe I should get the TD500 mesh white instead of DLM21 mesh white
It was aight but not great
Nah too expensive
Ya
yeah
Egg didn't you get a white one
$30-40 more than DLM21 mesh
Ya
So ima get mesh I guess
Got it the day it released
well whats a case that is also goood maybe bit cheaper thats in stock?
but do you get 3 argb fans with DLM21 mesh?
Nah but I have 5 rgb fans already
dosent have to be cheaper but i would prefer it
argb?
P400a but it ain't coming in stock anytime soon xD
It goes in and out of stock a lot, I think its worth it to watch and try to snag one@scenic lance
TD500 mesh gang
it says itll be in stock in 3-7 buisness days
if you want a good looking case with rgb theres just nothing else at 100$ price range :P
Maybe you could get a h500
H500 hasn't been under 130 for a while
Ya
I had originally considered p400a but I think it was super expensive plus the reviews I wasn't sure on
Fr
Thats the only thing I dont like about it
good airflow w mesh w space
Them 200mm fans are killer
Looks mediocre to me
I love it
But that’s my opinion of course
like its gonna be under my desk so i wont see much
if you don't care about looks
On carpet?
mx330-g+extra fans or Focus G
Quick edits lol
i have a wooden board i put it on
ye
quik edits
Ok
dont ask y i have wood board
no ask
I really wanna upgrade to DLM21 mesh but it takes 3 fans in the front instead of 2 and I don’t think it’d look good with my 5 only.
I would have 2 in the front, 2 on top, 1 on back
eh
And I’d have to take the stickers off my old case
I won't ask ooflord 49 why he has a wooden board under his desk because he told me not to
🤐
is PowerSpec an OK psu for a media machine w/ an i3 9100F? Not going to be doing much other than stream movies from it across the network
It has 5 year warranty I believe so yeah
it's the PowerSpec 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze ATX Semi-Modular
hiddy ho
@tropic dune Power Supply tier list has PowerSpec PSUs so you can check on there too
@chrome iris i saw them listed in the psu tier list, but i have also seen others say in channel to avoid them, figured i would ask
depends on model
So I used to use an HP PC and the power supply was at max 103W
CPU is a R7 1700 and GPU is a RX 550
103w?
How TF was it able to play things like Fortnite without crashing?
With fans and ram in there that wouldn’t be able to handle that
Maybe it was 300w ish
It says maximum 103W
I guess if it works don’t question it lol
Okay lol
So I’ve got a general question, I know a pc should definitely be plugged into a surge protector, but should I get a UPS instead? I’ve got my a/c plugged into a close area and my lights already flicker a for a sec when it shifts to cooling.
I figure it would be a safer bet to go with the ups
A UPS is a good idea
You can then confure your PC to shut down when it goes on battery.. you also can save data if you're working on something
how do you determine how many watts psu you need to buy
You could look up what your cpu and gpu would take.
There might be websites that do it though
Providing computer parts and hardware, hard drives, cameras and software as well as electronics, tools, appliances, sporting goods, jewelry, watches, gaming, and much more. With fast-shipping! Once you know, you Newegg!
@fluid knot ^
you don't need a high wattage psu, most of the time even 450w is plenty, just don't get a crappy one. There is a tier list in the pins
The case I'm going with comes with 3 argb fans and a two female to three male argb splitter. Do I need a mobo with 2 argb headers?
Or can I just plug it into one header and have it work
any nice icue cases under 175? under 90 if they don't have case fans, must have tempered side panel
@novel flax 220t crystal 480x trhe mirco atx case
actually looking for a full tower, preferably, but a mid tower would do if it looks nice
@pastel night nope. Molex has 4 pins and it comes from your power supply
@novel flax 220t is great for airflow and looks i have it but for full tower best best would be the obsiden 1000d, 780t
the 465x is cool
680x is good\
spec delta rgb is cool
I like the 680x, thx @light wyvern
My man is a case master
yes i like cases XD
avoid the spec omega like COVID tho
like bad airflow, build quality, and poor cable management. I couldn't even close the back panel all the way with a build in it
@pastel night nope. Molex has 4 pins and it comes from your power supply
@chrome iris then what's that connector?
Uh
Looks like something that might connect to your motherboard
I know the one on the right is ARGB
The left one looks like some sort of GDV one I think
Oh yeah it’s for Gigabyte motherboards
So if you don’t have a gigabyte motherboard you don’t need to use it
@pastel night
Yep
I'm looking for a better case. What would you recommend?
So if you don’t have a gigabyte motherboard you don’t need to use it
@chrome iris thx
For sure (:
i cannot wait till this case goes up for sale
when i build a new pc at some point, this is the case im gonna put my old machine into and run as a general purpose server
I'm blind
it da mini
and it cute
im gonna get noctua air coolers for my dual xeon board, as well as cheap, high core count cpus
and a SFX psu
its gonna be pricy, but its gonna be the coolest looking server ever
and im probably gonna get rgb light strips, just set them to white
- Lights.
Whew
Is like u12a but hedt
yee
the sockets on the board are so close to eachother
so i need tiny coolers lol
Dats a tiny d15s
Rip
can anyone recommend a good case with alot of airflow since my build heats up alot and good cable management space?
Cm td500 mesh
ty
Black one was in stock at 100$
Td500 mesh gang
im no expert but is there a power surge
what would be a good case to fit a 360 rad and a rtx 2080?
Td500 mesh from cooler master has 360mm radiator support on the top and front
I plan on modifying my current case to have better airflow but I would like to know what your guys favorite case is for air flow.
Everybody is gonna say TD500 mesh lmao
That or the h500 from cooler master, but the td500 mesh is my first pick ofc
H500 is my personal favorite but TD500 mesh is one most people likes
those are cheapo. Generally, cheaper equals worse quality
You're paying like $3 per fan
Arctic p12s would be the way to go imo. You can get a 5 pack for like 35-40
Nah I love P12s
the P12 PWM PSTs are cool too because they have that built in PWM splitter
I've used P12s in a few builds
They're nice and quiet and they look cool too

Bleh, I think I need to buy a new PSU soon. Thinking of getting the Seasonic FOCUS GX-750 from NewEgg.ca...... but theres a frigging 80 dollar shipping fee.
It says theres an 7.99 shipping fee, but when I go to checkout, it says 80+

Like, Bruh... And that doesnt even have taxes added on yet...
How does NewEgg even estimate teh shipping fee anyway? That totally seems off.
Hmm, Apparently Addresses change it. NewEgg seems to like PO Boxes.
One Address makes the total to 300 dollars, the PO Box Address makes it just barely over 200.
tbh just get one of these. MWE Gold is good enough and considering the fun pricing now a days, might as well. If you want closer to GX quality for a bit more money then Antec HCG G.
MWE: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07JFLBN3K?tag=pcp0f-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
HCG: https://www.newegg.ca/antec-high-current-gamer-gold-series-hcg650-gold-650w/p/N82E16817371108?Item=N82E16817371108&nm_mc=AFC-RAN-CAN
also, I recommended 650w because most people dont even need more then 550w. As with a 550w you can run a stock 3950x+2080Ti
650w if you want to OC 3950x+2080Ti
On a scale of time bomb to reliable, where would you rate Konlink's PSUs?
timebomb
theres a scale for psu brands

How does NewEgg even estimate teh shipping fee anyway? That totally seems off.
@pulsar oyster it likely depends on the seller. If it's anything like Amazon and eBay, sellers can adjust calculations to reflect the shipping carriers they use.
Often they jack up shipping costs so the buyer sees the low price and hope they don't notice the shipping price
But they do seem to like PO Boxes. When I inputted my PO Box at checkout to see how much things would be with Taxes and everything, it said Shipping was free. lol.
Which is absolutely lovely :D
IF this is totally legit, Im glad Ill have more then Memory Express and Amazon to rely on for PC Components.
@pulsar oyster seems like you missed my message but that PSU isn't worth $180 base price.
tbh just get one of these. MWE Gold is good enough and considering the fun pricing now a days, might as well. If you want closer to GX quality for a bit more money then Antec HCG G.
MWE: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07JFLBN3K?tag=pcp0f-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
HCG: https://www.newegg.ca/antec-high-current-gamer-gold-series-hcg650-gold-650w/p/N82E16817371108?Item=N82E16817371108&nm_mc=AFC-RAN-CAN
MWE gold is 200$ base in that link tho
HCG 140+30 shipping
if Focus GX has free shipping, I'd say it's worth about the same.
tho RM650 is 150$
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07RFZPN8G
ah
I wanna keep my PSU small, since my current one is 150mm long, and its very snug with all teh cables on it. lol.
140mm is just right :P
Seems reasonable... I think
Prob not
It is only singlerail
It's like 130$ msrp or smth
for $150
I got my g3 750w for 120$ or so
is very good
Wasn't like hx1200i for like 100+shipping in tech deals a bit ago
lemme go see
Oh no it was a P2 1200w for 107$
Noice
Funny thing is, its the EVGA 850 Super Nova G3 80+ Gold that Im replacing with a smaller SeaSonic unit since I think Im having issues with it XD

...
My G3 works fine
Mine might be having a ground issue. 🤷♂️
Motherboard wont shut off, and when its off, RGB stay on and all fans go full RPM. Been through multiple motherboards becuase of it. So it has to be a PSU issue.
It's possible
Im on my 4th motherboard now. It friggin better be.
considering they are RGB fans, do you use a separate controller for them and not mobo?
as it is semi normal to see mobo allow power even when off. Have that issue with a USB mouse on my older desktop, LED in mouse never turns off
Is it the same mobo model and you RMA'd it four times? Which mobos did you use and what fan/fanhub do you use?
They are all controlled directly through the motherboard. No Hubs.
As for what Mobos I went through:
- ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero
- Aorus Z390 Pro Wifi
- MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon
- ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING
Im on the Z390-E Gaming now.
I still have the Aorus board, Got the first Asus board immediately refunded with no explanation. The MSI Board couldnt get repaired, so they mailed me a check to refund it. The MSI board was refusing to post. lol.
Im just having the worst luck with my build 🤣
Technically that could run off of a good 550w but that doesn't leave much room for upgrades. Last time I checked the cooler master mwe gold 650 was in stock for 99. Thats a good option
@fluid aurora
ok
yeah bc one site recomended 500-550 but rn i only have a 500
\would it be a bad idea to use it
Do you have a good 500w
im not sure its corsair
cx
Green label right?
yes
Yeah get a new one
Ya
rip
That ones just about at the end of its life cycle
Green label okay for lower end builds
And yeah that one's not gonna last much longer
The new CX series is good
im trying to save as much as possible so what should i get
CX550, CX650, etc
But ya, the mwe gold is a good pick
Cx650 isn't much cheaper and its not modular
Just if you buy MWE make sure to look in desc and see if it's V2 or not
L
july 21-24 😦
Thats not very long tbh. Everything has been delayed lately
worth it
Agreed
is bronze a bad idea?
depends on PSU
there are some crap bronze ones, some good
honestly efficiency rating (white, bronze, silver, gold etc.) doesn't mean anything towards PSU quality
Don't look at efficiency. Stick with the one Egg recommended even though it's got long shipping
@fluid aurora
sorry i know yall already gave me a suggestion but are the newer cx's good the ones with grey labels.
yeah
Ya, they good
my gpu is coming in on wed and idk if i could wait lol
If you can find one in stock that'll ship faster then go for it
ok thanks for the help guys
Np
So far I'm really enjoying my TD 500 mesh, though I kinda wish I got the black one
so is 700 watts of power good for a gaming pc or is it too much
or should i get 650 watts
@dry raft it depends. It seems like a little much depending on your components. And, it’d be better to get a good 550w unit instead of a trash 650-700w unit.
What is your CPU+GPU combo?
Oh yeah you could run off of a 450w
really?
oh damn. thanks!
atleast like 100 to 130
If you get a cooler master MWE make sure it’s the V2. V1 isn’t as good
oh ok thanks for the tip
But what about the other components
will it run all of that
because this is my first time building a pc im sorry if im asking alot of questions
oh thats not bad.
450w will be perfectly fine
If you’re really worried about it, et 500-550w. That’ll. Leave room for upgrade too
because im making this a gaming pc for my vr headset and i want like whatever is best for it
What’s your budget for the entire computer
800 to 900
ight ill check it out
I’ll build you a list real quick gimme a hot second
ok take your time.
There you go
Ended up getting you a 600w because it’s good enough and cheaper than the other ones
@dry raft
Ok thanks!
For sure my man. @ me if you need any more help and I’ll be there as soon as I can
Have a good day :)
Also i have found cheaper stuff on best buy or any other site can i use the things i need
like buy the stuff i need
thanks so much for the list
also @chrome iris i dont understand much about the two storages,
i understadn about the ssd
Seagate Barracuda Compute 2
but the seagate i dont
is it disk space?
Ohh ok
SSD stores windows and other things that you want on there
ohh
ok i found a ssd thats 1 tb
is that good or should i stick with the one that u gave me on the list
What model is it
inland premium
Some SSDs don’t have DRAM, which is very important in an SSD
Can you DM me a link or image of it
sure
If I remember correctly, that one does have DRAM. If you get that one, you’d want to get rid of the 2TB hard drive in the machine and replace the other SSD with this one. So you’d end up with half the storage.
Some people don’t like having two drives though. It definitely takes a second to get used to it, but personally, I like it, because I’m getting a lot of storage for a good price
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Y6YLrH/team-mp34-1-tb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-tm8fp4001t0c101
Also this SSD is a couple bucks cheaper
@dry raft
No problem The Council
wait why does it say the sale ends in 2 days
Amazon has been consistently at that price. I would not worry about the newegg sale ending.
Mhmm
What about taxx
Hey is a 650 watt power supply enough for a 3700x and a 2060 ko?
yes
ok cool thanks
@scenic lance depends. If it’s a good 650w. Sure, if it’s a crappy off-brand one it might only have 650w peak but something like 300w continuous. What make and model power supply do you have
cxm has coil whine issues if I recall correctly
$124 is a good chunk of change for that psu, I would get something different
Ok should I look at some by seasonic and evga?
CORSAIR RM650x Series PC power supplies deliver 80 PLUS Gold efficient power to your PC, with virtually silent operation, a fully modular cable set, and a seven-year warranty.
Shop by product not brand tho
That might not be the best choice but illustrates that you shouldn't get the cxm 🙂
Check the pins for the PSU tier list
Ok then thanks this means a lot it’s my first pc build
Should be able to get a B+ or A tier at the price budget and wattage
Yeah for future reference, when looking for PC parts, don't stick with brands. Brands make some good stuff, some bad stuff. Research by model
If you want like perfect RGB integration and don't mind paying extra for that, maybe... but you want to make sure they are good products
Ok thanks a lot guys
👍
so
so
what case shall i get
idk
i have a carbide spec 04 and im not happy with the lack of cable management
no psu shroud, and no hole for the cpu pwr
What size mobo you got
Atx
ok lemme see what I got
Hey do you guys know what is a compatible case for a Gigabyte B550M GAMING Motherboard
I just did a buld in this case. It's good. I like it
any case lmao
Hey do you guys know what is a compatible case for a Gigabyte B550M GAMING Motherboard
@dry raft Any case as long as it supports micro ATX motherboards
ok thanks
oh okay lemme rack my brain a bit more
NZXT H510
jk jk jk jk
Cougar MX330?
Phanteks Eclipse P300A mesh?
@stone hamlet
Which one
MX330-g
the Phanteks Evolv X looks sick
@chrome iris p300a mesh at 100$ isn't worth
Oh wow I though it said $60
ye 60$ is worth
mmk my b
snazzy
IDK how that one is more simple than the DIYPC
but you do you
Airflow looks a little choked
But for 1050 ti and 2600 that'll be fine
ye
bi oreubstakked fans..?
forbidded language
lmaooo
Anybody experienced with be quiet! stuff?
what part of their stuff
psu?
Psu and cases, they look awesome but I don't know if they are
PSU depends on model. Case depends on model
Straight power 11 is really good
Check the pins of this channel, there's a PSU tier list. You can look on that for the PSUs quality
@chrome iris Thank you for the info!
np
@elfin trout I was looking for a silent base 600 but they're pretty rare
never heard of it
https://www.bequiet.com/de/case/642 The look is cool!
airflow doesn't look great tho
Yeah that's true, I just don't know what case to get, I really wanna upgrade but I don't know which D:
TD 500 mesh
Is the lack of a dust filter a Problem?
yes
Someone say td500 mesh? :P
td500 mesh gang
Looking for a psu thats in stock for a good price is ridiculous rn lol
Anyone know of a good value fully modular power supply
Rmx or rm from corsair
Cooler master mwe gold and bitfenix whisper m are good aswell
Ok
I definitely recommend the RM750x
ewww, Corsair...
^
x2 burned by Corsair products
95% of people like corsair
but it's so popular
the 1% of users that get issues is a large enough force to have 1 or 2 vocal people in discord
I just don't mess with their software, the psu and ram/headset i have are fine
had one issue w/ Corsair (SSD) and they did right by me, sent me a brand new replacement and received it next day
Can someone help me pick a powersuply
What specs and budget?
i have been waiting for a case to arrive for around two weeks, quarrantine shipping is great
@elfin trout It maybe because their RMA is crap, my point being is that popular isn't always best. I wasted money on two Corsair PSU's and one liquid cooler with a loss of over $400.00 thank you.
corrected

Anyway with that settled I'm looking at a Cougar case for a ryzen build
Corsair service is pretty good imo
the Cougar cases are pretty solid for the price, can't really go wrong there
But some of Corsairs cases aren't
but their psu and liquid coolers are crap
I also haven't had the issues with Corsair that you've had, I still have an original H80 AIO from...2012? that still works flawlessly
and an H90i from 2015-2016ish that works
nah
Corsair has some very good psus and water cooling stuff is fine
There have been issues with the gpu block, but I have had no issues with them
and psus are a tier
my H60 died simply because I transfered from a battered NZXT case to a CM Storm
@eager monolith hydro x worked just fine for a build I did
Yeah. Mine worked perfect too
Which sucks, but isn't indicative of the overall quality across their entire line of products.
and was offered no RMA so I trashed it for a AMD air cooler
I'm running multiple Corsair AIO's, all still running just fine through multiple builds and of varying ages.
@soft basin u probs j broke it when u were transfering it
I'm just about to RMA a corasir mouse, we'll see how it goes
I haven't had to deal with their customer service though, so I can't speak to any personal RMA experience or anything.
I locally purchased two Corsair 750 modular psu that where either DOA or shortly after
I've purchased two Corsair PSUs with no issues
I eat on the 1st psu but purchased a in store warranty on the 2nd and replaced it with a EVGA 850 GQ
I literally own like 30 corsair products. Like you may have bad experiences with them, but it doesn't mean all their stuff is crap 🤷♂️
ram, cases, fans, aios, custom loops, one or two nvme ssds, psus... almost everything there is awesome ||can't speak for their peripherals tho, go team razer||
I can
so no I will never touch a Corsair made cooler or psu again, I don't have time or money to waste like that.
Love my mouse and keyboard from corsair
I'm running multiple sets of Corsair peripherals and they work fine after years of use.
Just bought a refurb'd headset from them, and it's been fine in the 2-3 weeks I've had it so far.
gang gang
meh for peripherals tho, im team razer
basilisk x hyperspeed, red switch cynosa, kraken x ultimate
@soft basin Alright yea their customer support rn is absolute crap I know that, but usually it's decent
Oh funny part is the pc "A xmas gift to the kids" is Corsair themed, so the keyboard, mouse, and headset are Corsair.
but says nothing about their products
icue gang gang
I do like iCue, but their integration with Asus is really bad tho
@soft basin join the icue gang gang
Anyway There are four themed pc's built for the kids based on Corsair, G Skill, Razer, and Cougar
@eager monolith true, but that got fixed a month ago when they allowed asus mobos and gpus to work with it
Sorry folks I been building for a long time
lol good
lmao what's what
Not for me. Their Aura plugin goes out of sync super easy and you have to start Aura first
mino desk was my best bet to fit them all in one room
Huh, maybe there is an updated plugin or something
@novel flax for you it is...
it looks rlly cool tho, bc everything in my build is icue except the mobo and gpu, and I was super hyped when I realized they work with icue
and icue can be controlled by razer's synapse software, so even my mouse/keyboard/mousepad/headphones/soundbar fit in
My case is Aura and no support for that unfortunately
now about that Cougar case I was looking at. What do you guys think of the Cougar MX410 with rgb strips
@novel flax Toodlers destroy tempered glass HERE
?
no glass okay....
what?
u do realize the cougar one has glass too right
might as well get a quality product if ur gonna spend 75-100$ on a case and go corsair or rog
toodlers toppled and shattered the tempered glass on a Cougar, and DIYPC case already that I replaced with plexiglass
how...
actually it's plastic
