From what I read on Twitter. Essentially they’ll email you when to send your card in as long as it’s registered. And it seems to be a quick turn around. I’d estimate 4-5 business days from the time you send it to them till you get the 3080. But because there is a que, it could take months before you receive the email

So essentially, if you went to micro center spent $500 on a 2070s, registered it for the step up program, get placed in a queue, once your number is drawn they email you and say “hey we need your 2070s”. You ship it to them, once the receive it with in 24-48 hrs they should ship you the 3080 once you’ve payed the difference, example: you want the FTW Ultra, it’s $810, so you pay them $310. They ship yours. You receive it in “x” amount of time
Although. In the 2 months or so you’re waiting on it, you could potentially buy one. So it’s kind of dumb. But it just guarantees you a card at the given price

Yeah in Canada here, we have a store called Memory Express, that lets you backorder the cards. Place your back order, you get on a list, and when it comes in you get a call and have 3 hours to pick it up
