Gotta go clean my eyes with bleach
So bright! ๐ฎ
Knowing me, I probably need to clean the dust outta my video card. ๐
Thermals aren't clean on that Radeon
I'm thinking of picking up one of those Zotac cards. I actually think they're fairly gaudy while vertically mounted but look really nice with standard mounting, and throw a lot of light around the case.
I own a couple older Zotac cards. They work just like they should. ๐
I like this one better
i have that one 2060 i give to my cousin
2060 xc will lose video and fans go on high........have to do full reboot. Any ideas?
Are your drivers up to date?
Haven't been too lucky looking for it online. Yes
Also flashed to newest bios
<asus mobo> EVGA card
Hmmm...
@brave jewel what power supply? did you make sure the connectors were all the way in?
Just for overkill, let me try that. Thanks for the idea IamLegion
Back up........reseated and replugged in.....Wish me luck and thanks for the suggestions @wicked stratus @split girder ! ๐
See how it goes. ๐
I'm trying to find the best gpu for a friends planned build off ebay. Ik we recommend the 8gb 580 a lot. The budget is low 100 dollar range. Should I just look for a 580 or do any other decent cards fall im that range
its a solid enough card
but it really depends on what else is available second hand for you
580 rocks eSports
gtx 1650 on b and h are pretty cheap these days and there much more stable than a rx 580 (i own one) @rigid crag
Ok thanks for the suggestions
amd drivers are getting worse in some games it makes performance worse
i wish
This is better, right? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rmZB7T
What you need the Quadro for? Workstation?
:/ why did you just pick the most expensive things
๐

pro tip to make it look 27x less like a troll build dont put 300g of thermal paste in it
just gotta get dual 7742 tho with gen4 NVMe
https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/H12DST-B
128c/256t total

expensive troll build
doesn't go with orpheus
Are the 30 series RTX cards coming out this year?
I'd doubt it with the virus going around
They are rumored for Q4 tho
I need help
With what
I need to upgrade my graphics card ( Current: 1050 ti ) What should I get for 1080p gaming?
gtx 1070 at 4k?
Not a great combo, assuming that it would be similar to my experience with a 980 ti and a 4k panel. You'll be able to play a lot of older games with the settings turned down but I would never put together a gaming system with a 1070 with 4k in mind.
Back when the 1070 came out maybe at low settings. Now tho forget it
If you want a 4K gaming pc now the minimum you should get is a 5700xt/2070s
Big no at 1070 with 4K, I have a 4K monitor paired with my 1070 and it chokes.
ye no 4k gaming with that
What would be better to pair with a ryzen 5 3600? A 1660 ti or a 2060
the 2060 is faster
Thoughts on rx 5500xt

lol 5500xt
a 1660 super instead of rx 5500 xt
^
Kinda hoping I won't regret going for an evga 2080 ti over the FE
RX 470 to Vega 56? Worth it or hold off?
Processor is an FX-8350.
@dense flicker Was just wondering if it was worth the upgrade. It seems to be $260 on Newegg. Might be too big for my case, though.
should get this instead
maybe this
or this
all cheaper and better than the vega 56
I only have an FX-8350, though, currently.
& my RX 470.
lol Those 3 are all more than that Vega 56. ๐
O_O
I think he thought of it by now ๐
trying to decide RTX card or AMD....uuug, though my GTX 1080 still performs well and holds me over so I still have that
GTX 1080 is still a really nice card no need to upgrade
Would the 1660 super be decent for light 3d modeling, video editing and web/software development? Trying to turn my older PC into a decent workstation for my brothers and dad.
The specs it currently has is Ryzen 2700X, GTX 1660 super, and 32gb ddr4 ram.
I need help finding a good gpu that is good for video editing and also game performance, my budget for a gpu is like 200$ - 500$. Also I'm in Australia so the prices will be different and the availability
Alright thanks
nvidia has more features
and stability coming from an amd user
rtx 2070 super or reg rtx 2080
So Iโm getting a 2070s with r5 3600 and wondering if I should go 1080p or 1440p
@inland heath sameeee
Matter of preference
uh it really depends if u want to or not
imo
Both screens are 27in
@bitter jungle my screen is 23 .-.
I have a 27" 1440p and 1080p. 1080p doesn't look bad lol
Let me rephrase: it looks best on screens 24โ and below
is it normal to idle at 57 degrees
i cant really get it below that unless i make my pc sound like a jet engine
If your load temps are fine, then yes
dose anyone have driver issues with the rx 580
Not necessarily driver issues but I've had to send my particular one back twice now
@fallen schooner
I finally got time to swap power supplies.
So far it's working as it should
Ryzen 3 3200G
ASRock b450-hdv
8gb ram
What would be a good graphic card for this build?
Whatโs the budget
Those specs give me a budget build feel, I would say something along the lines of a 5500xt
Unless that's too expensive
If you want to take a step down on price then maybe an rx 570?
@inland heath @blazing merlin
Yes very much a budget build.
All of that power supply and case was $350.
Would like to be around $150-200 on graphic card.
I'm not opposed to looking at used graphics cards either
Iโm new to pc building as well and have just ordered my parts. What is the purpose of your pc? There are different choices for different purposes
I agree with @blazing merlin
@inland heath
I am a graphic designer.
My main focus is
Photoshop
Adobe illustrator
After effects
autoCad
With some occasional gaming.
@dense estuary. Then maybe look at the 1650 super
You could probably fit a 1660 super in the if you go used
A used 980 ti or 1070 might be easier to find, if you happen to have a beefy enough PSU for them.
I was able to get a rx 570 used for $70
i want to get the gigabyt aorus rts2070 super but its on back order anyon know if theyre gonna restock soon?
and if i preorder any idea on how long itll take to get?
My EVGA 600 died.
I now have a 430watt
Hello. My friend recently purchased this pc ๐ฆ https://www.staples.com/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-gma60-gaming-desktop-computer-amd-ryzen-3-2300x/product_24394735 (I tried to make him build one but he was stubborn.) I noticed the GPU is hot garbage for "Gaming". I was wondering if he could upgrade it and what could he upgrade it to for under 200$?
@dense estuary 430W? Immediately off the top of my head with your setup I think a 570 or 5500xt would be doable. Don't quote me on that though lmao I don't have specs in front of me at the moment
@velvet grove Who in their right mind puts a GT 1030 in a gaming pc???
@velvet grove as I was recommending to zro, maybe a 5500xt (I think it's similar in performance to the 580)
With such a cheap PSU you'd need to look into rail specs
I doubt it can do 430w on 12v rail
@blazing merlin
When my EVGA 600 started acting strange, all I had was a 430 watt from an old computer. Since I'm really not running anything I thought it was safe. I was eyeing a 570 just from a budget standpoint. I am looking to upgrade the RAM to 16GB soon as well.
@wicked hound
The 430 is a temp until I can either get EVGA to send me another 600 or I can buy a larger. I'm running the intergrated graphics right now
@wicked hound
thermaltake tr2 430w
EVGA 500 br
I thought it was a 600.
My mistake
@wicked hound
I'd take a guess it's a lemon. Voltage regulation/ripple seem to be in spec for average BR unit
Tho, I would return it and just get a better PSU in general anyways
Hey everyone. I just joined on here, so please let me know if this is the right place for questions like mine. I just ordered the XFX RX 580 XXX Edition 8GB. I know I'll see night and day difference from the nVidia GTX 580, but what kind of numbers (FPS, etc.) can I expect in games like?
For reference, other components I'm running:
Core i5-7400 3 GHz Quad-Core
MSI H110M PRO-D Micro ATX LGA1151
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000
Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB Boot
EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750 W 80+ Gold
I'm using the rig for digital art and video editing, on top of gaming (when time allows)
Hey @potent stirrup fun fact that's the exact card I have, and I've had to send mine back twice now
I sincerely hope yours doesn't act that way; I'm beginning to think I am just very very unlucky when it comes to purchasing computer hardware ๐
I'm most likely going to be in the need of a new gpu soon. I was trying to hold out till nvidia 3000 series but I dont think I can. Which card would hold its value more, a 2060super or a 2070super.
Or is it about the same for both
Hold its value only till the 3000 series launch anyway
If the only purpose in purchasing a graphics card at the moment is to hold off until the 3000 series launch, then wouldn't it make sense to just buy the cheapest thing you are willing to run (performance-wise)?
Thats why I'm asking. I am able to buy a 2060super rn. So I would enjoy the extra performance for the next couple months. I just want to know if I'm going to lose a good bit of its value
And I know nobody can say for sure I just want an opinion
Well, I have no idea how either of those options will fare in terms of value after the 3000 launch, but let's say theoretically they follow the same percentage decline in value. Under those circumstances, they'd hold the same percentage of their initial value, but you're going to lose less (and spend less in the first place) if you get a 2060
True
whats a good entry level graphics card for gaming on a budget
im building my first pc and i dont have much money i was gonna go with a gt 710 but i realized it sucks a lot
well what is the most you want to spend?
And what kinda games are you trying to play?
becausemost i can spend is around a hundred and im playing fortnite minecraft and other esports games for my esports team evolve
evolve youth esports
i was looking on offer up and i saw a radeon rx 560 for 70ish
What cpu do you have?
The 560 would be good if it's within budget I think. Are you buying used on eBay?
Should be fine. As long as it wasn't used for mining
wolfgamez, this command is disabled in this channel
Maybe check to see if they have a 1050ti in your area?
oki will
brb
well icant even check my stepdad wont let me because i have homework even tho i have 90 % of it fone =_=
done*
hey friend me bc i gotta get off for now
Do your homework lol
Wb
Hey I'm trying to build my first pc and I have the parts but I can't decide between the 2060 Super SC Ultra Gaming and the AsRock Radeon 5700 XT Challenger. And suggestions??
If you donโt plan on streaming the 5700xt
well, if you dont have anything aside from a gt 520 that can produce a video signal. you dont really have a choice.
desktop work
i ran destiny 2 on it got 11 frames lmao
yea fair point
you are aware that the card is 9 years old right?
mhm
have an old system
e5 1602 and gt 520
might replace cpu with e5 2640
but still would need a better gpu
that is between you and your sanity :)
lets change the question a bit
"what is your intended general plan for the machine?"
it is up to you to decide if that is a good idea or not
BUT, if you are keeping it around for dev work, then, depending on dev work type, if the gt 520 doesnt limit you. Why change it?
then what you are doing is a combined gaming/work machine kinda
which is a different beast compared to a "dev machine"
yeah true
just trying to clarify your situation/context a bit here :)
hey it seems like this convo is relevant to me too, just trying to game a little and mostly do video/photo editing without having to wait overnight to export projects. had the card i wanted picked out but it sold out and now i'm looking at the GeForce GTX 1650 SC ULTRA GAMING GDDR6 but i don't know if there's something better that doesn't break the bank
consider the vram amount
depending on what you are doing, that can matter a fair deal
BUT
keep in mind, more vram is NOT a direct indicator that the card is super duper fantastic
it all depends on your use case
can you elaborate on vram
in which way?
also, please note the following: there are no stupid questions, only silly answers
so, please feel free to ask
i just don't really know what it is or how it effects performance
virtual ram i'm guessing?
vram is video ram: it is memory reserved for the rendering and other things that happen on the gpu
ohhhhh ok gotcha
@spice prawn you could probably explain that better
nah, that is close enough :)
yes and on something like a 1650 its 6gigs
that is not a stupid question @smoky reef
its a logical question that comes from wanting to understand
and i will happily answer those all day
thanks for being so understanding!
"so its gonna process a lot faster" <- most likely, in the context of how you are asking? yes.
but as mentioned earlier. Vram amount is not everything
but yes, if your current card has 1gig of vram, just about any modern gpu will be a LOT faster
ok cool that's what i just about to ask
there are ofc exceptions, just like in any field :)
and so with all this in mind you said bsaically the only better one in the price range was the 1660?
I'm just hoping the 5700XT is a good upgrade from a 1660 super for modeling and such lol
on the nvidia side? yes
@normal hawk check your modelling software of choices community for info on that
True true
what software are you using?
also real quick if vram isn't everything what exactly SHOULD i be looking at
Using Blender and Unreal( mostly for world design)
@smoky reef reviews, reviews and more reviews
that is really the only answer that covers all of it
fair, trying to make sure i can even support these two with my power supply first
fx, lets say i dont do any gaming, but i need to have 6 displays hooked up
a super duper fantastic gaming card with 2 outputs is going to be useless to me
yes, that is a fairly "weird" (but not unrealistic) use case. But it should get the point across :)
no i definitely understand your point though
I have an old computer and tried to upgrade the graphics card to a Radeon rx550p2SFG5 but Newegg is out. Is there a compatible card from NVIDA
need more info.
Looking for a decent used budget card around $40-50 with RX 460-RX 470 performance since the GTX 960 I though I had didn't work out.
Any ideas?
Yes
Whats the best GPU under 500 that will exceed 200 fps in rainbow six siege, csgo, overwatch and 144 fps in apex legends. plz help me while the prices are low
yes i have one GTX 2060 8gbs it runs great.
What gpu should a pair with a ryzen3600 for gaming and streaming under 250
1660 super good for 1080p gaming and how much fps
sorry i dont speak no knowlegde for that card
@stuck lynx in short? horrible
Iโm struggling to find a 1660 Ti for a reasonable price; is there much of a difference between the 1660 / Super / Ti ?
If difference is negligible, there are plenty of Supers available in budget
@limpid jacinth just get the super, honestly. The price-to-performance is great, but if you're willing to take the performance hit, get a 1650 super. I'd get a 1650 super if I had the money, personally over the 1660 super
Whyโs that? ๐ฎ Iโll check prices on the 1650
Why the 1650 over the 1660 is what I meant lmao
I found a 1660 Super for 209.99 after a rebate
ok cool, @spice prawn thats the only one i have ๐ so ill make do with it for now
wow, and now newegg is sold out of the 2060 super 8g for $399. so glad i got mine just now before it sold out
Can someone reccomend me a gpu that I can pair with the r5 3600 to get 240fps on 1080p fortnite budget 250 USD
Best bet is probably a 1660 super
Is anyone online that has any insight on an issue I am having with my Radeon RX 480? I have not updated drivers in quite a while, and that was on purpose.... I am getting HORRIBLE digital garbage and flickering across both my screens now
Gonna go with a nope.... lol
update the drivers
I just updated them
When I was on old drivers, it didnt do this.
Quite a few months ago, this started, and back then I had to revert the drivers, I had forgotten why I was on the old drivers... I waited a while, hoped they would fix it, clearly not...
go back to old maybe
rx 570 a lot of the reviews are saying that it runs hot or it keeps frying motherboards
So now idk if I want it bc I dont want to risk my mobo frying for I have no money.
I Need A graphic Card
whats your budget and what CPU do you have?
@merry orchid ^^
rx 570 a lot of the reviews are saying that it runs hot or it keeps frying motherboards
@twin crown gpu that frys motherboard xD nice never heard of it unless its gpu from wish.com
LOL
You know it
the thicc one is pcie 2.0
I'm trying to sell my AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Gaming Graphics Card - OEM
Anyone know where I can sell it?
Upgraded to an Nvidia
facebook marketplace
Thanks guys!
I'm going to try selling it
How about I just say yolo and do two gpus!!
ok
I wouldnโt go 2 gpu for normal system
How to fix bad anti aliasing and shimmering flickering in all my games?
Whats a good gpu thats not over a 500 range?
for what games I play, I have been looking at getting an RTX 2060 Super, they vary between $400 and $450 for a Gigabyte, Zotac or MSI
ok thx!
I thought 2070 super was in that price range
the 2070 still a lil over 500
like $525
they said not 500 so that's why i recommended the 2060 Super
@balmy magnet The 2070S is $499.99
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tTCFf7/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2070-super-8-gb-windforce-oc-3x-video-card-gv-n207swf3oc-8gd
So yeah.... no
@wicked hound that's preorder, so yeah you might be able to get it but when? "Expected availability: May 12, 2020"? at least the ones i discussed are in stock now so maybe less waiting
What's a good GPU CPU pairing for both content creation and gaming? I want to keep the whole build under $1000 btw.
They didnt say much for when they needed it. So meh
Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade my gpu but don't know what to buy I'm willing to pay around $350 any good options?
Radeon 5700xt or Nvidia rtx2060super
Thank you for the fast reply i appreciate you
Hey this has probably been asked before. But whatโre the cons of a 5700xt? And how does it do with VR?
Cons could be considered a lot of things. The fact that it lacks some of the features such as rtx and nvenc that their competition has, along with their no so great driver history.
As for vr, I wouldnt know. However I believe @dense flicker should have a good idea when he comes around.
vr?
vr?
what about vr?
cons of 5700xt:
iffy drivers
no nvenc
no ray tracing
hot
it will be a fantastic card for vr tho, it will work with any headset.
Lmao
comparable to 2070s which can def handle vr no problem
You got some energy huh? ๐
i just had 3 smores
Sugar rush
we got a fire table ;0
Just wait for the crash
๐
Looks cool
I thought you weren't supposed to make smores on a gas fire tho. Idk tho
Hey this has probably been asked before. But whatโre the cons of a 5700xt? And how does it do with VR?
@north meadow it can handle any vr without any problems..
Thank y'all
Np

5700xt vs valve index
is the 2060 ko worth what it is or is it just not that good?
2060 ko has a pretty bad cooler, unless you have usecase where the 2080 die helps (usually rendering/productivity), get a FE card or other cooler
is the 2060 ko worth what it is or is it just not that good?
@hallow anvil thats good for rendering/workstation related stufff but dont expect much that it will help you in game
oops
1650 Super
I've got a 5700 on the way lmao my RX 580 died for the second time; I'm not running an xfx card ever again
talk with their support
sorry to hear about xfx.. i actually really liked them back in days of the other 5000 radeon series
What are some of the brands to avoid?
some amd brand gpus. nvidia is superior
yea they are getting better but any of their lower end gpus stay away
I meant the companies like Asrock, msi, gigabyte, Asus etc
"lower end GPUs stay away"?
Right... Give me a RX570 performer with a similair price tag for Nvidia
or used RX580
or 5600XT, 5700, 5700XT
You cannot just blanket term AMD as a bad option/Nvidia being better. That is very horrible advice
Nor can you just say what brands are good/bad overall as that changes on GPU series. As an example Asus did quite the poor show on their 5700(XT) GPUs
for amd cards never buy asus and msi doesnt have the best usually
for vega and navi at least, and for 570/580/590 the armor mk I is pretty bad
@wicked hound usually from my experience with amd and from friends who had amd cards the software is usually the worst part about them.
Does anyone know if the gigabyte 5600 xt is a 6 pin or 8 pin connector?
Ok cool thanks

Does anyone know if the gigabyte 5600 xt is a 6 pin or 8 pin connector?
@hardy cypress yes
yes
yes

Im getting a MSI Gaming X 1660, is the card worth it?
My build
Ryzen 5 2600x
16 GB corsair vengeance RGB Pro
Gigabyte DS3H B450
Barracuda 2tb HDD
Kingston 120 GB SSD
Thermal Take Smart 700w (it was cheap and i plan on upgrading alot)
Antec p6 Micro ATX
is that a whole new build?
Yeah, ive only bought the PSU, case, fans, ssd and hdd so far
Im thinking about making a last second change and grab the RTX 2060 for like 50 more but moneys tight
hold up let me see the price of the 2600x
I get a pretty cheap deal at microcenter
how much is it there?
For both the cpu and motherboard
Let me look how much it is
I would like to invest in a 3rd generation ryzen but i cant afford both and older model and newer model to do a bios update
depending on board you can also flash bios using USB w/o a 2nd chip
Im new to pc building, this is going to be my first build, i know a decent amount about PCs but not building itself, bios and etc
Cant post links but the deal is $182.90
It used to be 152 but i guess the prices have gone up on both the cpu and motherboard
Im hoping to have this as a good first pc so im asking opinions before i finish buying
I mean on newegg right now just the cpu is worth way more
I got a question is a 2080 ti really worth it? I'm also not sure which one to really go for either any suggestions?
Really?
14th of may?!
yep
oh damn
Dang, i may wait then
I need a graphics card really bad my ati 580 keeps over heating and dying.. ๐ฆ I want to go back to nvidia lol
@untold wren maybe see if you could find a cheap secondhand gpu for now
some 1050 ti s can be cheap
Also, with stock cooler. Can i slightly overclock
I need it VR usable
ah
Also last question, is it good to go with the Gaming X 1660 or should i wait
is it a regular 1660 or 1660 super?
are the 2070's good?
I have a 2070 super and its pretty good I like it
The super
does everything I want to at 1440p
ah the super
yea I just recommended the 1660 super to my friend the other day
Its 260 at micro center
2070 does vr too doesn't it?
2070 S supports vr yea cuz its 8 gb vram
the minimum for VR is usally about 6gb
vrm
vram*
@untold wren are you specifically looking for ray tracing high end vr pc or like just a PC that can run vr
Ummm.....
I have a 2070 Super it works dam well with vr
I wish i could afford one
I'm building 3-4k computer over 6 months so right now
But surprisingly, the 1660 can run BF5 ray tracing, same with MW, but its not much ray tracing
I wish i had that budget lol
yea at low settings with it and fps isnt good with it
right now I am in desperate need of a card that can do VR. I am not getting 'extra' vr stuffs just the headset and controllers
I have a 2070 Super with 2 Xeons CPUs
If i had a much larger budget, i would definitly choose a 2060 ir 2070
But im kinda tight on money
@untold wren then I would suggest probably a 1660 super because it is cheaper until you want to decide you want to get a 2080 ti but if you want to just go ahead and get a 2080 ti then go right ahead
the problem I am having is to get one with a good fan is like 1.5k
yep the price is also higher due to corona
maybe would be best to prolly wait
but I would definitely look up some gpu VR tests on youtube
like benchmarks
see what you would be best with
i heard the letters V and R
what are we talking about
@untold wren are you looking for a GPU for VR?
if so, what budget
(for the graphics card)
Is the Gaming X 1660 Super good for VR
yes
Just wondering since i cant find benchmarks
Nice
and does VR with no issues
I should be buying one soon
which headset?
Idk yet
Ya I am getting an oculus quest eventually
I meant the gpu lol but tbh idk yet
I have a rift s
Buidling the pc is already kinda hard for me rn so idk what im getting yet
rift s is the best right now imo. better than quest for the same price
it is?
Not very liquid
I mean itโs pc powered
More storage if you want better cpu and graphics card
Quest will get outdated later on
For running games
gotcha.. I wasn't sure all the sites kept saying quest = best and I'm like... umm? ok
I do have my eye on the Rift S though
I want a VR that I don't need a lot of room for cause my VR room is 'smaller' so I can't do a full room experince
If i could afford the Index ๐คค
heres the thing
the quest is desireable because it has hand tracking, its portable, it doesnt require a PC. but what they dont tell you:
hand tracking isnt fit for gaming and is buggy, you cant even cross your hands over eachother. The headset can plug into the PC, but it has often bugs and issues including needing to have the battery charged to use it with the pc. Sure its portable, but you are locked to the Oculus store and the graphics and refresh rate on the screen suck.
how often are you going to use VR portably anyways? like i wouldnt wanna be seen in public with a vr on my face lol, maybe thats just me
^
ohhh gotcha. I'm going to use it at least a few times a week I'm not going to hard core use it but I really do enjoy my PSVR I just hate the blur
that film and crap on it
I have the psvr too, vwry uncomfortable in my opinion, fun though
I would say rift S too
Just gets hot easily and makes me sweat fast, and i always find myself adjusting it every second
but they are all like $700+ right now and sold out
I actually was playing the ocean demo game itz, and I fell asleep with it on lol just relaxing I didn't mind the headset lol
rift s is $400, index is $1000. Rift S gives you all the same features as the index except finger tracking and the nicer screen. Finger tracking (on the index) is a gimmick, you still have button input and to grab things you still have to basically do a binary input. Not worth $1000. The screen is great, i will admit, but like, the rift s is $400. Thats a $600 savings for mostly the same thing.
Other perks to rift s: inside out tracking. you dont have to hang sensors around your room.
oculus and SteamVR store - best of both
software - steamvr interface is bad and not improving. Oculus software is great, especially dash which is available at the click of a button
Ive had alot of fun experiences on psvr
I was going to get graphics card and vr today but ya I can't find them anywhere
Oculus is making new controllers right now possibly like the Vive ๐
Reason: Bad word usage
Got it mixed
hahaha
no problem
common misconception
/error
i have another point to make.
half life alyx.
omg you guys are amazing btw ๐ I'm glad I came in and started talking about this cause.. ya your really helping me out
Omg i want that game
Reason: Bad word usage
Reason: Too many infractions
oof
oops lol
the only thing you can do in half life alyx with the index that you cant do with other headsets is crush cans. A game developed by valve, the same people who made the index, the only thing you can do with your $1000 PC accessory is crush cans in comparison to the rift S at just $400.
let me check the Rift S
Atleast it confirmed Half Life 3
they all are but I want to see the setup
oh its stupid simple
Frick sake
hahaha
LOL
Iโm not use to not swearing
rift s setup
download software, plug in headset, and all you have to do is draw your boundary using the controller. and thats it
I was trying to say half alyx is fun as ##ck
Same
I am doing Subnautica VR, some Anime Game VR's, some fps's etc etc I'm not into half life.. Horror VR I can't do.. I'll so scream like a little girl
...
oh yeah then the 1660 super should be fine
As soon as i get a vr, its half life alyx and subnautica for me
this is Oculus Dash. At the click of a button, you have instant access to a dashboard with all your applications. I opened it up inside beat saber, it is incredibly convenient. You can also open up more physical windows and have everything at your command. Each window also acts like a touchscreen making navigation easier.
Subnautica is a must try in vr lol omg
imagine typing in vr in discord
I also have elite dangerous vr too
Thing that sucks with the PSVR is that there isnt many big VR games on it
the thing that sucks with the PSVR is that it runs on the PS4 and uses playstation move controllers and the playstation camera. lol.
And jesus does that thing make me sweat. Its so uncomfortable to me, everyone says its so comfortable but god
Every secind i have to adjust that thing
i got pretty hot in my rift s, but i also play a lot of expert+ beat saber which gets me moving a lot
The controllers are ok, just hate the tracking so much
also im incredibly sweaty at Rec Room paintball.
I wish they put more thought into them, theyre just a pa3 copy, i literally use my old ps3 move controlers3
if I were to get vr id want a lot of games but rn I dont feel like buying a lot of games... been deciding on whether or not to buy snow runner
ye lol
I think I will wait the 6 months for the vr unit ๐ฆ sigh sad girl
rift s is $400 with much money left over for games, and more of them since you have access to oculus store too
The first game im buying on my pc is Rust
cringes at rust I tried to get into rust.....
@dense flicker isnt there an oculus subscription for vr games?
kinda like xbox pass
no, thats VivePort
I log in and next thing... I am a giant black guy with a *** thing lol
I originally wanted to play it on ps4 but then i realised thats a peasant mistake
not oculus
ah yep
@untold wren there is censoring, you can choose blur or underwear
Rust is fun though
Played it once, kept getting domed by compound bow campers at market
Yes lmao
...
Thats why no gears are called nakeds
ok byeeee
Lmao see ya
cya zack
(keep in mind still moderating so dont let this chat go anywhere nsfw pls ๐ ) cya
Also im dumb, i like try not to choose any other 1660 just because the Gaming x super has rgb
good god ya I'm not paying 700+ dollars for the oculus rift s.. geeus
Im like that
@untold wren id say wait awhile once the corona stuff settles down more and maybe prices will drop
my gpu only has the words zotac gaming in rgb
I bought a 5 pack of RGB knock off fans that doesnt connect to the mother board
ya I am going to
Theyre actually good
I will just get my tv and graphics card instead
Im going to keep all my led white until i get a replacement for the one stockcwhite led fan
@untold wren I know its not the same but VR chat allows you to play in desktop mode
Thats still fun if you are a model creator or just look to have fun with people
or just like memeing around
last time I played I was just a picture of linus tech tips running around
^why i dont play vrchat
its not the same lol
I tried it non-vr and went nope
so i found a 2080 ti for 200 off what I was going to pay
ah hybrid so it has a cooler fan you have to hook up to the case
If i ever get the money and the parts, im going hard tube water cooling
how is 1050 TI 4gb in 2020?
plenty of manufactures that made a 4GB 1050 TI like EVGA
If you can find them for a decent price they are pretty good @lament locust
๐
@lament locust They are okay for 2020 but like mentioned before they are usually over priced for the performance your getting if your looking around that price range but for more power you might want to look for AMD's RX 480 or 580 they are usually priced decently on the used market and can still hold up.
thank you
I have a 970a-ds3p fx motherboard, can I use two gpus a RX 560 and a evga GTX 1060 3gb ? will it be okay? or is it better with one alone
well @bleak rapids you cant use both at the same time for games and such but it probably would cause less problems just to use one
so I simply don't use one of my gpus?
prolly. what were you wanting to do?
get better performance
yep that wouldnt happen
a game can only take advantage of one gpu unless it is in SLI but the cards have to be the same and you would need a NVLink which goes in between the cards and most games dont support SLI so it basically isnt worth it
so which is better RX or GTX
it depends. but I prefer nvidia so I would say the 1060 even though it has less vram but honestly I would go through games and check and see which games you get more performance out of
so if you get higher fps with the RX card then use it
i usually run with my rx560 because it runs smoother, but with the GTX 1060 it tends to stutter way more
it might be a bottle neck?
then use the rx560
the 1060 lacks vram
since it only has 3 gb and the 560 has 4gb
my 560 has 2gb
o
then maybe with some optimization on settings on the 1060 you could get it to run smoother
I would also change settings in the nvidia control panel to performance
so more sure it's not a bottleneck?
whats your cpu?
it shouldnt be too much of an issue since its 6 core 6 thread
have you checked while playing a game if your cpu is under full load?
on task manager?
its always 100 cpu then like 95 gpu usualy
if your cpu is under full load and your gpu is not performing as high then your cpu is the bottleneck
95 with the rx or 1060?
man I wish I was rich ๐, the rx
ah
how much ram do you have?
8 gb?
if its 4 gb then that could be another reason too
oh ur good
it was 8
would anyone be willing to help me out for a hot second?
im having GPU driver problems
i have tried a bunch of forums and although many others have similar problems like on reddit, none of their solutions work for me
@fervent yacht what gpu do you have?
PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon rx 5700
lots of video internal scheduler errors and hardware errors LiveKernalEvent code 141
everything I have seen tells me to update drivers, rollback drivers, and all that fun stuff. I have also switched to the second PCIE slot and back, and switched to 3.0 instead of 4.0 (which seems to be slightly more stable)
Running ASRock x570 Pro4, 16 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 2700x
650W bronze 80
let me know if you need more specs or something. I know this isn't technically a forum, but I would rather have this fixed instead of returning the card.
if i do have to return, im thinking about getting an Asus RTX 2070 mini from micro center
im not entirely sure as I am not used to amd cards but im sure someone else might have an idea for you
that's cool. thanks
Its fine if the gforce app is used to keep a 2070 supers driver to date right?
yep GeForce experience
Anyway to stop getting GeForce experience from picking up corsair icue as a game?
No, i don't think so. It does that for me also
Can a ryzen 5 3600 run a 2080 well ?
GeForce experience doesnโt even pick up recommended settings for me anymore lol
@ember remnant yeah your fine Iโm running that on my pc
@ember remnant Iโll check to see if I can see the price in purchased orders
@ember remnant I payed 619
Oh ok I could afford that , I see 2070 that cost 600 and you said the 2080 u had costs 619 so like is there a difference?
@dusky pebble
Well
@ember remnant The 2070 to 2080 their is a difference you would be fine going either way but honestly you should look at the 2070 super because it has similar performance compared to the 2080
Yea Iโm definitely either getting a 2070 super or a 2080
It all comes down to price at this point if you can find a really good 2070 super for less the the 2080 I would go with the 2070 super
Oh ok thank u
https://www.ebay.com/itm/353067290717 is that worth the price?
@runic trail itโs not terrible you would save from what I have seen close to 50 dollars and the 5700 xt does reach 2070 performance but you should be careful with refurbished items
Woah
Sorry, I've never bought a used or refurbished computer part.
Itโs no problem, refurbished usually means that something was initially wrong with it so you can still run into problems with it, eBay does however have a great money back guarantee depending on how much you can spend it might be better to go with a new card.
when are these new rtx 3 series coming out. I literally just got a 2080 super its still in plastic
If you want to go the route of the AMD mid tier graphics card which I suggest your better off with the 580
@twin crown
Ok
@dusky pebble Nevermind then, going with a new one. On Newegg, I get RE3, XBOX game pass (which I won't use) and Monster Hunter World. And a 20$ mail-in rebate card!
It's amazing.
Very cool
Thatโs what I like about Newegg, you can usually find a good price with promoโs
would the 1660ti be decent for vr gaming?
light vr games such as vr chat and pavlov e.t.c
im not tryna play half life alex
alyx|*
does the power supply come with all cables for the motherboard and gpu and stuff?
yes
I need some recommendations or ideas on which gfx card use for a future build. I currently use a XFX Radeon Rx Vega 56 8GBย . I am wondering if that card can hold up 4k monitors and video. I wont game too much in it. Or is there an alternative i should be lookinh for instead?
Can Vega 56 do 4k?
The Vega 56 generally provides good performance at 1080p and 1440p, but struggles when stretching to 4K resolution unless paired with a FreeSync display, where variations in frame-rate can be smoothed out somewhat.
So i take it that as long i stick with 1080 and 1440, the vega 56 will last a few more years before next upgrade? And all my monitors are freesync
Is a 2060 OC good?
@sand storm Yeah itโs a fine graphics card
Okay thanks
Anyone know what size fans this card has? One of mine died and XFX customer support isnโt doing much for me and Iโd rather not strap case fans to it
hello guys do u know which graphic card would fit perfectly with the i5-9400F ?
Anywhere from maybe a 1650 super to a 2070?
@warm pier depends on your needs
And budget
gaming
Budget?
Just for the graphics card?
oh for the graphic card 300~350
@fallen schooner thank you v much Iโll definitely look into that
ok thanks
And 1660 Ti would be great I agree
I say 1660 super
@fallen schooner https://www.ebay.com/itm/293045407357 would these possibly work with my card? The size is about the same and I think the plugin is the same as well but not sure
@severe tangle wht card is it exactly that you have.
@fallen schooner XFX Vega 56 Double Edition
This is a pic of my card, the sticker is off of the fan that doesnโt work because Iโm stupid and took it off
I'm mainly wanting those fans bc I'm not too into the solid red fans, but I do like the overall look of the shroud
2070s
GT 730
*gt 610
Hd 520
HD 6320 with single channel memory
You just had to specify the single channel memory huh ๐
Lol
geforce 256
intel atom integrated graphics
with this ๐
gimme a sec i have one of those
this one has N450 I think
Reason: Bad word usage

haha curse swear
what 2070 super should i get?
@maiden sun depends on preference honestly
I bought the ZOTAC RTX 2070 Super Amp Extreme
unfortunately I looked back at their website the other day and it wasnt up for sale
they ran out of stock of it
i was checkin the dual fan amp
i want that gp
?
working on a budget here. Intel i3 or the new Ryzen GPU coming out soon?
Ryzen tbh
@faint steeple
i found a non amp version of the 3 fan design
but its like 200 us more
thats ridiculous
im kinda torn between waiting to get a 2080s or on thursday just get a 2070s
what do u have now?
oof
honestly
for that price
wait
wait a few months
when businesses start pickingg back up
oh
yeah its stupid
is it worth 200 for the difference between 2080 and 70
this one is 589
get this one if anything
gigabyte is good
plus this one looks sick
HEI
You gain about 8% perf increase from 2070S to 2080S for $200 more. You pick
but yea that one I just sent is decently priced all things considering
this one is $500
isnt newegg cuz I guess newegg doesnt have it in stock
dont want sff
I suppose the gigabyte one would be best for value @maiden sun they are almost identical besides from looks
EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC HYBRID GAMING, WATERCOOLED Is this worth it over a air cooled card?
for 589
No
@faint steeple only reason that its that much is thats a third party seller because newegg is sold out
you could buy one off evga on new egg
practically at msrp because you get a rebate card for 20 bucks
Gigabyte windforce is bae
@normal hawk wouldnt fit in my case
Best GPU for my i7 8700k? Gaming purposes, might stream soon, 300-500 budget
Best for that budget**
is there anyway to find out where your graphics card is coming from before you buy it? if i would of known my 2080 was going from west coast to east coast i would of paid better shipping.. usually the shipping center ships like 3 hours from my house.
think it depends on warehouse availability
dang so there is no real way to tell.
my brain is going oh god the truck is going to bounce and my precious is sitting there bouncing... MY PRECIOUS! GIVES IT TO ME!!! lol
lol
I've had items ship from a different city in my state and still take 2 weeks to get here on standard shipping lol
@untold wren generally, even if you can get a rep to give you an answer, it is just "noise". It is not knowledge you (as a non-stock reponsible person) should actually know correctly
dang well it was worth a shot lol
i mean i've also had items from across the country ship in 4 days. it just depends on the situation. if you choose standard shipping (and its within the same country) you should understand that it can take up to 2 weeks. It can take less, it just depends. right now with everything going on I wouldn't expect anything within less than 1 week
ya I'm getting my graphics card on friday. I was going to pay for 1-2 day shipping but usually I get it over night with ground orders so I had no idea and wasn't going to pay 20 some dollars for that when I usually get it over night anyway lol
I wouldn't pay for any extra shipping methods at this point
shipping is already delayed because covid
thinking you're going to pay for 1day/overnight/2day and think you'll get it is silly ๐
ya there is really no point since friday is around the corner anyway so
I saw an unboxing vid of the card and it has a ton of padding so it should be just fine. ๐
Ayo
I'm wonder what the nvidia equivalent to the 5600xt is?
Its fairly well priced where I'm at but i heard there are lots of driver issues so id like to have a wider scope on the market
2060
thats the card that was repositioned to fight the 5600xt at the launch of that one
Oh sweet
That puts me in a tough spit tho
*spot
Cuz Its like 100 bucks more over here
also, keep in mind, IF you are reading about driver problems, take great care to notice WHEN that comment/post/article is written
drivers are not static
they do change over time. That is the point of them after all :)
I asked about it pretty recently in the buildapc dc and i got told to avoid it at all costs, but those guys can be fairly dramatic
coming from the thing in the box, thats ... rich!
lol.
