There are a few others if you'd like
i want to build a pc eventually, what i want is a bare minimum vr ready system that would be less than 5000.
yeah right,..
IKR
You could get literally anything with that
interesting ty so much,
i dont want you to have to do that.
It's easy, and I'm avoiding homework lol
Lol
So... The RX 590 came out... Is that any good?
It's between a 5-15% performance difference from the RX580 depending on the game, but way more expensive...
I dunno if it's worth it
Depends on the person really...
Hmm how dose it compaire to the GTX cards?
+10% average performance vs a 1060, and depending on the cooler it can overclock to be close to a stock 1070. I might consider one (RX590) if I go with an ultrawide, just for the small gains
It's just kinda awkwardly priced at $280. I mean, you get 3 'free' games if you buy off of newegg, so that might justify the cost. (Devil May Cry, Division 2, Resident Evil 2)
those games are meh tho
Yup, my thoughts exactly
Personally I'd get an RX580 at the moment. You get to pick two of the three games if you get it from newegg and you can find them for $200 flat. Much better deal IMO
You can also get an rx 580 by purchasing a Gigabyte motherboard from newegg ๐ They sent me one instead of the z390 master motherboard that I ordered
lol?
close enough
I sent it right back
I guess the dude working in shipping didn't know the difference
Id have loved it if he mistakenly tossed me a 2080 ti ๐
Yup but unfortunately it delayed completion of my build by a week
I bet
wouldnt an rx 580 be worth more
thats kind of dissapointing
its been like over a week and my order still isnt here
when its been marked delivered
Yeah they didn't even want cross ship and send me the motherboard. Pretty crappy of them
Call the delivery company
I've had that happen
Turns out they still had it and just marked it delivered
lol
I'll take either if you're offering ๐
I just ordered mine ๐
Got a dead card from ebay so I decided to order the right way
ftw
So I'm relatively new to the Discord, as in I joined a few weeks ago but haven't posted in here yet. Think I could ask a few questions in here?
Sure, shoot
That's what this chat is for ๐
Looking to build me an all AMD system here soon (I was unemployed for a while but recently got a job that I start after New Year). Settled on a Ryzen 7 2700X and a Gigabyte - X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard. Been eyeing the SAPPHIRE Radeon RX Vega 64 for a GPU, but it's a reference design card that I'm a bit eh on getting. Any other good cards out there? Doesn't have to be a Vega, a 580 will do. I'd be open to hearing some recommendations from Team Green too. Looking to keep it at or below $600 as well.
I've been eyeing Gigabyte's AORUS RTX 2070
At the $600 budget, I'd say the 2070 is your best bet
I had a blower Vega 56, it was horribly loud.
My preference would be an AMD card though, I want to see how they work with full GPUs, but the 2070...is very likely going to be my go-to. RGB FUSION and all
you dont like the blower style cooler is what you're saying?
Well, the reference ones are loud on the Vegas, the gigabyte version is horrible as well.
It's not my first choice for a cooler @fallen schooner
Looks like the only thing newegg offers is the strix which is almost 800 right now
sapphire nitro + special edition vega 56
check it out ๐
that'll pair well with the 2700x
would be a solid build.
On newegg at least, prices for Vega aren't very agreeable and there aren't many options. That Sapphire Nitro + is 723 for V56
Yeah, my motivation for that V64 was that it's essentially AT MSRP
At those prices, and if you really wanted AMD, the 580 or 590 would be the best bet
MSRP for Vega has always been a loose term ๐
I would say I'd be open to a 2080 but I think my reason why I'm not should be pretty clear considering the issues that card's had XD
I've also looked at the MSI 2070
yeah
The Gaming Z I believe it is
Its a little too pricey, don't think you're going to find one for 600
I've had a 2080 and 2080ti so far with no problems
As have many of my friends. The problem, while being widespread, isn't a big as the media would ahve you think.
@fallen schooner That's the reason why I've been looking at AMD. The Pascal prices are so freaking insane due to lack of stock and extremely high demand at present so I'm not really willing to go that route
As for your choice, its probably best to wait until you are ready to buy and decide then. Might get more Vegas in stock
You can actually get 1070s for a decent price
Truthfully, Navi has had my attention for a while as has Zen 2's recent leaks, I'm just trying to look for options NOW if Navi ends up being another Vega and promising more than it actually delivers (not saying Vega's a bad card, I'd not be eyeing one if it was)
Navi is a way out still
I'm seeeing a ton of issues with the 20 series from Aorus
seems like every day someone new hops in complaining abou tit
@sturdy heath yeah I try to keep brands together. ๐
intel/nvidia amd/rx
At least they are dying in warranty, my 480 and V56 not so lucky
as I sit here with a ryzen/1080 buiild lol
only cause I won the card
if not I'd still have and RX in it
I'm actually running a two year old $800 Dell gaming laptop right now, hence my interest in building a PC. Probably will sell this thing for a Surface at that point
Only need a laptop really for taking notes in class
I'm looking to go back to college
I have one of those 2500u laptops, those aren't bad at all. Walmart actually had one on sale the other day for $300
Speaking of Walmart, I'm aware I'm getting off topic here, so I'll keep it brief, I AM looking to go into comp sci, so having a dGPU would be nice. Been looking at an OVERPOWERED laptop the one with the 6GB 1060, but...it's a Walmart brand. Here I'm looking for desktop GPU questions obviously but I'll ask for better suggestions on that in a moment in the right channel XD
Walmart brand? Got a link?
Considering this is the graphics cards channel, I'll DM it to you, unless I can post it here?
I don't think anyone will mind
Free 2-day shipping. Buy OVERPOWERED Gaming Laptop 15+, 2 Year Warranty, 144Hz, Intel i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, Mechanical LED Keyboard, 256 SSD, 1TB HDD, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 at Walmart.com
Hmmm, I wonder who make that. Normally laptops like that are made by Clevo, but I don't recognize that chassis.
My assumption is that the SI would be the same people who did their desktops
One sec, that may be a clevo one, just newer
But the IO and specs for that price...is why I'm finding it hard to say no to that laptop
That is a good deal, if it performs well
A lot of the reviews on it say it performs better than the Helios 300, which is almost $200 more with equal specs
Its one of those ones I'd buy and test it. Walmart has a great return policy. My main concern would be thermals. The build quality is cheap, so if you go in expecting that, you might not be disappointed.
Actually it's in thermals I see at least 3 reviews saying it's better than the Helios in
Apperently the Helios actually thermal throttles, this doesn't
Acer apperently tried to focus more on performance, forcing you to have to undervolt the Helios 300, where Walmart did that at the factory
I think it'll be one I'll take the gamble with. I have the $800 model for my Dell, so that's a 4c/4t i5-7300HQ and a 4GB 1050, both of which are beginning to struggle in games
The OTHER reason that I plan to build the desktop. Which brings me back to my original question. What would be the best buy from both AMD and NVIDIA for under $600, then? I'm looking at either the V64 I mentioned earlier or the Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8GB , and for NVIDIA, the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming Z, or the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC BLACK EDITION. Good choices to consider? I know EVGA is a pretty popular choice on NVIDIA's side of the lawn, and XFX and Sapphire on AMD's
From a price/perf perspective, the EVGA 2070 black is the best option. Vegas prices are too out of wack right now to consider. As for polaris, I'd go the 590 simply for the 3 game bundle
Oh yeah I'm also looking at XFX's RX 590
If going with the 590, I'd go with Sapphire, best customer support and much better looking GPU
Just preference though
I'd go Sapphire but that blue shroud would be...very off in my all-black scheme. Unless they have a gunmetal or black shroud option now?
Then I'll happily consider that as well
Got a long wait on those.
Didn't they say they'd be releasing those on January or was that the 2nd series Ryzen
They haven't given a release date on anything yet. As for releases, so far they have said that Epyc would be launching first, 7nm Vega for instinct, then consumer after that. According to a few tech outlets, Epyc isn't coming until Sep/Oct, so it could be a long wait.
Yeah, going to be a minute. Though I do hope that desktop cpus come soon, I'm getting bored with this 8700k
1300x is a beast tho
is rtx worth it?
You can get used GTX 1080 Ti for like $600 on a site called mercari. I use it, more trustworthy than eBay IMO
RTX is only worth it now cause the 1080ti is pretty solidly sold out.
The 2070 isn't so bad.
why not trust just the Ti versions of cards?
Hes referring to used 1080tis, which may have been used for mining.
I just want to see AMD release a card comparable in price to a 1080 ti and in performance. I don't want to pay for RTX when I'm not even going to use it.
Think you mean AMD ๐
Not currently. Sometime in 2019 hopefully
Hopefully. Is there no hope for Nvidia to release RTX Off 2070s?
Highly unlikely
And no more GTX 1080s will be produced?
Nope
Best bet if you're looking for that level of performance is to find a Vega 64
Or one of the few remaining 1080s/1070tis (if thats your performance target)
What would the cost difference be?
There was just a deal on a 1070ti today for like 325
Shame. I've already ordered all my parts.
What did you order?
i5 8600k, GTX 1070 ti and 16 GB of RAM.
Ah, well thats a solid setup
You can also sell that Fortnite bundle on ebay for a good bit of money.
Yea. That was what I was planning to do to finance an upgrade in the future.
I got the Dell S2417DG on sale and I'm wondering what I should consider upgrading to get the most out of it.
The 1070ti will do pretty solidly on that monitor. The most I think you'd need for it in the near future is a 2080. 2080ti I think would be vastly overkill at 16:9 1440p. I have one I use for 3440x1440 and in some games its definitely not reaching its full potential.
Thanks. Should I consider waiting until AMD releases something comparable in 2019?
I thnk you'll be fine on a 1070ti to wait for a while
What should I consider upgrading in the future?
Depends on whats out. I wouldn't consider a 2070 if you're already on a 1070ti
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Do you know if AMD is planning to release anything comparable to a GTX 1080 or GTX 1080 ti?
How soon?
it is forbidden
So no asking when navi comes out?
NDA is strong
What is NDA?
not dead afterall
So what does that mean for you?
i cannot speak of things, it it forbidden
Seriously?
That's not what you told me earlier in private message Denniso
-o
haha Denniso
now box.. those are private
I like it
bad box
What is box
<-
Oh you are box
for someone who seeks answers, has all the questions
I know a thing or two.
google is your friend
or hardocp, hyperthermia toms hardware
Thanks Dennis.
I'm hyped because no RTX
rx3070 is going to be butter
I'm sure they've cleaned up a lot since the vega mishap
All the games that are announced for RTX aren't the games I'll play a lot.
i want amd to come back strong in vga like they are in cpu right now
Wait. Is Ryzen good?
dude ryzen is awesome
Does it have anything comparable to a i5 8600k?
for the dollar to performance ratio, it's untouchable
I get it's cool but does it have stuff comparable.
yeah, get a r5 2600x
if you just doing gaming.
that's the money
I'm not bias at all btw.
I have both intel, and amd rigs here
Where?
but for the price.. amd all the way
I kinda regret getting Gysnc now.
if money is no object nvidia will win natually, but bang for the buck fam builds amd all day
For context. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VBj9QZ
yep
RTX 2080 Ti : Ryzen 7 2700x vs i7 8700k Test in 8 Games Games : Assassin's Creed Odyssey Far Cry 5 - 01:10 Project Cars 2 - 02:11 Arma 3 Apex - 03:23 Forza H...
^
Oh cool
yeah google is your friend here, just vs some items
So which is cheaper?
plus you get a heatsink ๐
I'll have to change my mobo
most AIOs have am4 (ryzen) brakets
Seems like it'll cost a lot to move to AMD.
But it seems like it's worth it because AMD is better?
I wouldn't say better
but all you need to change is mobo/cpu
everything else would still be good
mobo is cheaper under amd, monitor is cheaper under freesync
if you go with nvidia
if your upgrading anyway it makes sense if you figure in all the costs
better is supjective though
but if you want to go full amd/gpu you'd need a freesync monitor, which is waaaay cheaper than g-sync
So I'll have to get a new monitor, new mobo, new CPU and new GPU to fully reap the benefits?
I have an ryzen 5 1600 with a gtx 1080
All I want is to upgrade my GTX 1070 ti to fully use my monitor.
Nice fan grille.
1070ti will work great with that monitor
Are you saying I'll get more than 90 FPS?
I think a 1070 Ti is enough depending on your CPU. Like Velocity said, it won't give you 144 FPS or more in every game but that is what Gsync is for.
quoted*
might not do it on you know max settings.
but it'll def be up there.
Okay. So if my monitor is fine.
Shouldn't I just get an i7 instead of buying a new mobo?
you could.
it's really what you want at the end of the day ๐
seems you have a decent budget to go intel
me Im cheapo
and go amd
Box you just said you had a GTX 1080
Oh okay
if not I'd still have an rx 480 haha
What's your CPU by chance?
ryzen 5 1600
16gb@2667mhz oc'd
msi b350 gaming pro
crappy 32in omen 75hz monitor
can pretty much run anything I throw at it
I have a friend who is building a PC too. He has a GTX 970 already. Should he considering getting a AMD card?
you mean suggest an amd cpu?
A graphics card
sorry Im tired lol
well
if her already has the 970
he*
kinda depends on friends budget and what he wants to do.
Okay. Sorry if this has been already answered. Should he get something different from an i5 8600k?
He just wants to game
depends on budget really, if he has 2k to burn... it would be a matter of preference ...
but trying to save a dollar. amd
But which AMD cpu?
no streaming?
No streaming
Oo
not even the x
all ryzen cpu are unlocked
I have mine oc'd stable to 3.7ghz
I GTG now. But I'll prob have more questions when I get back
Thanks for helping box and @misty swift
ok, not sure what time zone you are but I'll most likely be asleep ๐
Is it possible to make a monitor free sync enabled when it has arrived?
i dont think you can add freesync or g-sync to monitors, it would likely be another circuit board..
I thought freesync was software based?
I found this forum post and it talked about how it was able to do it on specific monitors.. https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/freesync-now-works-with-non-freesync-monitors-with-cru.2488696/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/56p2mo/annoucing_freesync_over_hdmi_and_some_dvi_on_non/
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=410187'
Awesome news:
Some people I know and I have been working on this project after stumbling upon it.
In a nutshell Freesync can be ...
Okay. I guess I'll just cell the current monitor I have when needed and get a freesync monitor when I need to.
yea i would do that. This idea in the forum you posted is wrong. People are mixing up terms and thinking they are doing freesync when they really aren't
Thanks for your help
no problem
should i get a gpu next year after i get my graphics integrated ryzen 5
They're so hard to find right now
Or the 1100 series
Navi or the 1100 series?
I ordered my GTX 1070 ti a week ago. Pretty happy I did.
Nice
is the 980 still good
Yes
If you just want to play games it is
i might snag that
If you want full quality 1080p it's ok
are gaming laptops worth it
console peasants dont know what is a 1080
Lol
well i dont like ps4
but i could buy an xbox
xbox has a decent gpu
i meant one x or s
vr is dying
No
XBOX GRAPHICS
VR is on pause
lmao
Lol
windows 11
Box gets it
was I? ๐
Yea
I don't remember half the stuff I say.
gtx 2080ti SLI
but can it run newegg?
DFN I love it when Nvidia asks me to cough up a lot more money for a few more frames
The 2080 can't SLI
^^^
It's bridge now
@lilac condor RTX Titan chough chough
might want to get that cough looked at
i dont really know about rtx
rtx is far from my budget soo
portable workstations are doo doo
quadro is so expensive rn
buy a titan v and save 1500 bucks just for some frames
come on
like if you use a titan v it is way better and you can still game on it
quadro is poor and can be compared to midrange vega graphics
just quit quadro, buy a titan v or an rtx titan
I will say this
The Titan series is only good if you game and do CAD or alot of Adobe
Otherwise if you only primarily play games
The standard 1080 or 1070 work
You find a ti version then that would be great
The 20 series isn't worth it at all yet
They explode and games are not optimized for the new architecture
Titan is only a smidge better in Adobe than a 2080ti, and about the same in CAD. Just benched them last night. Also, the 2080 can sli
Yeah and the Titan is super expensive compared
Yes, Titans aren't really gaming cards anymore. With the Titan V Nvidia made Titans semi pro. These are much better for AI than the gtx cards
Does it matter what PCIE slot you put your graphics card in if they are all 16x?
Thanks @fallen schooner I've connected my graphics card to my monitor via DP and the monitor can power on but a signal is not detected?
To what?
Power
Yes. It turns on
And press the power button
Ok
That's the first rule of IT
Ask the silly questions
Anyway
Try a different port
On the graphics card
Doesn't detect
?
With this card
The first time it was on HDMI
Did it work?
I'm confused. The first time the monitor was on HDMI and it didn't work because I wasn't using HDMI
Yes.
So the pci slot it is in hasn't been used before?
No it hasn't.
Has the PC ever worked before?
I've seen the splash screen of the monitor manufacturer which is Dell
You may need to put the graphics card on the far top x16 slot
That's what I have it in.
There is I think. I'm using an i5-8600k
How do I get to the bios
K
So how do I plug in the Integrated Graphics Port?
Move the cable from the graphics card to the motherboard
what gpu do you have?
I have a GTX 1070 ti
you have the power ran to it? on the card itself
@fast swallow Did that
Yes. I'll double check
Yes I have two 8 pin PCIE cables running to it.
Does it matter that they're too seperate cables?
And that they have stuff splitting off them?
What do you mean by turning it on getting now signal?
mistype
like when you turn on the pc
how long do you let it sit
did the card give you signal before?
No for context this is my first build
It takes 6 seconds to display no signal
or everything
Sure
wiring routes.
psu
all the things
I just feel your gpu isn't being powered
or monitor, I would try what reaper suggested plugging the hdmi into the mobo HDMI
I don't have HDMI
to see if your integrated graphics comes up
but you said you swapped it with the DP.
No. From source
I'll go take pictures now
show me the heads of those wires connected to gpu
Like the tops?
the side
you can probably do away with one run
and use one wire, that has two ends on it
do they say pci or vga on the side
connected to the pci ports on the psu I assume?
labeled
I mean the only thing I can think of is the card was DOA
evga is good about RMAs
or if you have a friend with a pc, take it over and try on their pc.
How can I try use intergrated graphics?
Wait so what does it have to be?
use the DP cable you have now
Okay
Tried doesn't work
displayport 1.2
^
remove the RAM
swap em
<--->
put them back in
yeah if you aren't getting output from mobo DP something is wrong
monitor turned on? ๐
Yes monitor is on
I can press the buttons and get a resposne
I know the mobo is getting power too
Because I can see it light up
have you just let it run for like 10mins
Not continuiously
do that.
Okay
but do what reaper said with the ram
yes
yeah
all LED's light up no matter what on post
Oh um
I'm using an EVGA FTW 2 card for reference
And the leds on EVGA logo do not light up
Does that mean the GPU isn't in?
could be throwing off why the mobo IO wasn't giving you a signal
pull the card out completely and try
Okay
lol what
but drool doesn't mix well with electronics
condensation!
lol
I took out the card and no signal @fallen schooner
Also bracket that holds the card is broken now
Nevermind just need to attach it back
wait what
?
Friend saw me and tried to rip out the card
He did and the bracket came out
All in one piece
the pci-e slot?
lol
Yes
sounds like that
I have this horrible imagine
dude
you just toasted your mobo
please slap said friend.
How did I?
you should never force parts
Or how did it it toast
Lol no
I need a picture of said bracket
you push it down towards the mobo to release the stick
I know
Yea. How 2 put locking mechanism back?
uh
RMA
๐
I've never broke one off so I can't really say.
@fast swallow ?
I have no clue myself
but with what I feel, I think something is fried.
thats the pci-e, not ram slot
lol eggbot
Um
eggbot strong in the filtering
๐
Oh
lolol
Good idea
try a different word ๐
๐คฃ
๐ฅ
ok so now card is out, plug DP into the back of mobo
Will the lights on the GPU automatically light up
and wait
Already tried
I Really not sure man...
Lol. I'm guessing the bot didn't like the first 4 letters in that word lol
the way thing are going I'm guess the mobo is dead
What word? @sinful bobcat
you mean a n a l
The mobo isn't dead box
Yup
๐
It lights up
Oh
Lol thanks Box, I'm not home but Ill fix it when I can ๐ป
Why would ram affect signal but okay
or its closest to cpu, I can't remember
Should I try no RAM?
lol you funny
yes ram, it has to have ram :d
is the cpu in the mobo?
serious question.
the shiny silver square.
12v rail is connected to mobo as well?
well if you get no signal from the mobo while the graphics card is out...
and you've tried 1 stick of ram in the #1 slot
RMA the mobo is your only other option.
@fallen schooner So uh, do EVGA FTW2 cards with LEDs light up when turned on or do they need to be configured?
the light up like reaper said.
I suggest testing it in another pc before making that conclusion
like I said I think that board is wrecked
dont let him touch it :p
Yea. I don't trust him anymore
Oh yea and the thing got put back in though @fallen schooner
So it's fixed
nice
I'm not too familiar with those games but I know they don't take much
dang near benchmarks for every setup now.
I'd get a more recent card tho
think there is a 580 on neweggflash right now for dirt cheap
Wait
So
I get a 100 buck card for free to spend on amd
If yes then instant buy
Because i get 50% off my cpu
help im confused
I cant see the seller on mobile
Someone tell me his info
that pic though ๐
most likely a hacked account
I wouldn't try buying that 1080ti.
shipping from AZ.
lol
So should i get a 1070ti or an rx 570?
you can get whatever you want, just don't get suckered into that 1080ti
if it's to good to be true, it usually is.
IMPORTANT:
Should i get RX580 is November and get 4gb of ram
Or VEGA 56 in December and no ram
Or VEGA 64 in next January and no ram
How would you use a pc without ram
56 instead of rx 590?
Radeon 7 launches on Feb 7
if it were me, i would wait till at least launch, see what the benchmarks are, usually as a new card enters, the older cards get more competitive with pricing.
700 bucks? id buy a 2070 with that
but i couldnt afford both, so rip i guess
2070ti LOLLOLL
haha
the plastic looks cheep
as a canadian it is my duty to inform people here that i am forever jealous of those who live in countries that use actual, non-monopoly money
I'm thankful for tax refunds otherwise upgrading some of the older stuff in this machine would be next to impossible
I hear ya, this years tax refund didn't go to gaming for me though but I already have a half decent rig so I figured I'll save for BF and CM this year, though you're Canadian so you guys don't celebrate that right, you guys have boxing day or something like that I think O.o
Nah we do Black Friday here
it's just FAR more muted
although boxing day is a bigger deal yeah
oh you guys do? well that's probably why, here in the US it's a crazy night though I think it has died off more recently, maybe more online sales so not as many people go to the actual physical stores as much as before.
Hey! I just received my Lenovo gaming desktop (item number: N82E16883998644 ) The plan was to use it as a machine for replay in vMix. Based on the pictures I was expecting there to be at least one available PCIe lane. But upon opening the case it looks like the only PCIe lanes on the motherboard are being used by the GPU. The computer came with an optical drive that I donโt need which is connected to the motherboard by a SATA III cable. So, is there some sort of adapter(s) or cable(s) that would allow me to get another PCIe lane and plug it into the motherboard via the SATA III connector that is currently being used by the optical drive?
Not a good idea
Oh, I forgot to mention that what I want to connect via PCIe is a Blackmagic Design Decklink Duo card. It takes 4x.
Thanks, @fast swallow
What are the issues you see?
It's not the same interface
There is a 99% chance you have alot of issues
Including the fact that a pci slot provides power of some amount
And a SATA does not
Is there really no room?
Most motherboards have 1 16x, 1 8x, and 2 4x
If there is a port you could always get a ribbon cable for the port
Thanks for that info!
"extension cable"
Pci extension cables are common and help when a graphics card is in the way
I was surprised too when I didnโt see more lanes. Iโll keep looking. Is it possible there is an open lane hidden behind the gpu?
Yes
Gotcha.
Underneath
Np
There is only one lane! Just for the GPU. Nothing underneath the GPU.
Gonna have to send it back.
On the phone with them now
I got it from Newegg
Yeah, I mostly wanted to confirm that I wasnโt just blind. They confirmed that motherboard has only one PCIe lane.
I'm looking to update my computer I built back in 2015. I need to replace an AMD FX-8320E and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti. Can I replace both of those with a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and an AMD Ryzen 7 or will I need to worry about replacing the motherboard and memory because I am upgrading those two systems?
8GB installed RAM
What could I get to ensure best preformance? I don't want to upgrade so much that it would be easier to just buy a new computer
like a corsair vengeance?
oui
can i find that in system information? its been so long since i put it together i think its a DDR3
like around 700-800 no more
total haha
2 i think
yes
32
so a corsair vengeance LPX 16gb (2x8gb) should do the trick just fine?
I was hoping to avoid that
thanks for the help
of course
still appreciate it though
if he has a FX-8320E he is using ddr3
if he wants ryzen he will have to purchase an AM4 socket motherboard along with ddr4 ram.
Look up ur Board maker and check compatibility.
So I have my list of things I think I am going to get. Is anybody willing to look through to make sure it will all work together well?
MSI x470 motherboard
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Windforce
Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8GB)
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
all of these things are within my budget to get. Will these run well together?
@scarlet sluice all good, however if i may suggest, only if you want to do VR or 4k tho, spending the extra 100$ for the 2060 will be well worth it. i also belive the card will keep better resell value.
Any one know where I can find an ACARD AEC-6280M PCI IDE Controller Card For Mac or equivelent?
Is this what you're looking for?
Yes! But alas its "out of stock".
I need a similar or equal to for my old Power Mac G4 Digital Audio 466MHz OS9/OS X 10.4 machine.
hello I could use some guidence
i am looking at getting a external graphics card adaptor for my lap top but don't know what graphics card is compatible with my computer
Im not sure if what my problem with my pc is but. i have a gtx 1050 ti and a fx 8350 with ddr3 8gb ram. my computer when im playing some "high stress games" my fps will drop from anywhere from 15-30 for about 15 seconds and also during that time my Mouse dpi changes from 1000 to like 100(Its what it feels like atleast) I have changed motherboards and power supplys and this system was working fine for over a month before it started doing this. i have checked my drivers so now im kinda lost, I got on to overwatch and when i get my problems i see that my latency goes up so is it my wifi thats causing my problems?
@alpine plinth have you tried turning it off and on again?
Honestly probably the 8350 with 8GB of ram.
@sour geode this has bin a problem for the last month ish
What is your heat like on your cpu and gpu during these stutters?
Try plugging in an Ethernet cable and see if it goes away
Have you run a memory test to see if your ram's gone bad?
Try cleaning your pc clearly and see if it helps
If the temps are fine I doubt a dirty pc is the culprit
True but who knows, it might be the issue
You can also change your power settings to performance.
okay
Also something I just read the other day https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-430-39-driver-cpu-usage-issues,39195.html
i use system mechanic, and did a factory reset when i have issues like that. But if it affecting your gaming that much id lower your quality till you get a smooth 60 fps.
So, I have a question, I am planning on ordering this:
Is it going to be a bottleneck with an FX 8350 on the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P mobo?
Do you plan on upgrading the cpu/mobo soon?
FX-8350 will bottle neck that card
and what do you have now?
the cpu/mobo were an upgrade
I have an RX550 4GB
I would spend thast 220 on a new mobo cpu ๐
Ryzen Athlon is 60+ usd
if you just game, it'd be perfect.
If I do that, then I have to upgrade the RAM as well, I am on DDR3 right now....
I want to get the 2600X I have a friend who plays the same things as me that has one and it is awesome I just don't seem to find the funds to get all of that plus the graphics card I know I will need
I'd wait honestly.
3000 series on the horizon
2000s will drop in price soon enough
gasp you want me to shop ebay???
fleabay
I didn't say that.
didn't think so ๐
I was just stating a uh, yeah.
