As for your teammates, it is not easy to peel for them once you engage the enemy. You could try just holding your abilities for peel while your teammates poke the enemies down. The best thing you can do though is to be such a threat that the enemy team cannot ignore you. One of the biggest differences between high level players versus low level players are stack management. Keep your stacks up by q ing camps of champs and 1v9. That is how Dante does it (or is his name Doenel).
