Breaking the stalled time of Canon for a moment, the Satonos, as in IRL, are doing everything right in a new era to rise up as the new wealth of a new world, while the Mejiros are slowly losing ground because They are not capitalizing on the same economic opportunities the Satonos do; Relying on their name and talent alone to keep wealth in the family, rather than expansion.
The IRL Mejiro Farm went bankrupt exactly because their old ways couldn't keep them competitive on the track. The crown pride of the "Stayer", that McQueen personified in the game, was just no longer affordable.
High maintenance costs, less returns, more varied and talented opponents using different and modern strategies and training methods to give competition.
The farm lived on G1 prize money. Autumn Tenno Sho, Spring Tenno Sho; it's not just a coveted title for them, it was their main source of income.
And after McQueen and Ryan... They didn't produce many more G1 winners that could keep the farm afloat from that.
Translating this to the game universe:
The Satonos survive through economy. They don't need to race to grow more wealthy. The have factories, stores, trade connections, etc. Their wealth is entirely decoupled from the racetrack.
The Mejiros have to win. At all costs, if necessary, to keep their estate running. It's literally an existential objective.
So in a growing world of more and more monsters on the track, and less and less capable Mejiros facing them, They do in fact face inevitable collapse.
