heloo, im tired, quick recap, ive recently bought an late 2007 mac pro 2,1 with 2 xeon X5365's, currently only 4gb of ddr2 (will be expanding to 16 gb) with 1 ssd and hdd with the base gpu (geforce 7300 gt). And while i wait for the better gpu (gtx 970 4gb) and ram to ship i wanted to install a better operating system that also will support the new gpu. Ive tried going the 0p3nc0r3 route by making a mac os high sierra vm and trying to make a usb that way, until i read the fine print and realized my mac isnt supported by 0p3nc0r3. So i was out of luck until i turned to linux, thought maybe it would work (since im posting this you could figure how that went), i have used linux like 2-3 times in my life so i thought it would be a little too hard. Eventually i wondered maybe it would be possible to install some kind of hackintosh workaround to make the mac pro run high sierra (at least), ive used hackintosh once with 0p3nc0r3 (sorry had to censore it for the post to post) on my main to tripple boot linux, macos, and windows, and since the old mac pros arent that proprietary maybe it would be possible somehow?

Tl;dr
bought mac pro 2,1 and trying to upgrade os

your only option for macOS on the 1,1/2,1 is the modified version of El Capitan floating around, which is kinda useless these days
