#MBP5,3 mid-2009 issues

Installed clean Monterey on external SSD (Samsung 870 EVO).
Everything seems to work just fine except for these 3 issues:

Setting the display to never sleep for battery & power adapter does NOT prevent the display from going to sleep.

When I open Maps.App the What’s New in Maps window pops up. The trackpad won’t select the Continue button. I can get it to highlight by using tab. I can not get the button to accept any input.

I think this failure is preventing Find My. app from being able to load the map files.

Just looking for any advice.
Or if someone knows how to get word to the OCLP team.

Thanks!

What hardware are you installing on? This problem is typically due to an unsupported GPU

MacBook Pro 5,3 mid-2009 NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 256 MB (yes that’s an M 😁)

Ahh yeah that's a Tesla architecture card, non-Metal, Maps will be broken

thank you. i just opened console and then maps and i see some of the reasons it fails. non-metal being one of them . im sure its not a priority but can i be of assistance to the devs by sending console reports somewhere?

#

also sorry first time here. i changed it to solved should i get rid of the post-install tag?

You can leave the tag if it's relevant

#

At this point the cause of the issue is known, it's a matter of hard work now

There is issue tracking on the GitHub page
