Can I ask a question for all the home design geniuses? I'm planning to make a theme for my villagers houses once I unlock the ability to do so. I'm planning to make a concept from another game but to spare you from the long details, each theme fits a period of life in that game according to each house I've set up. There's 5 houses I'll remodel excluding my own house. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. So here's the breakdown:

1st home = childhood, reminiscent of a prairie.

2nd home = teenager, reminiscent of a rainforest.

3rd home = early adulthood, reminiscent of a snowy valley

4th home = midlife crisis, reminiscent of a wasteland.

5th home = aging, reminiscent of a vault, similar to a library maybe?

My house? It's gonna be a stormy, dark, and rocky place that's dangerous. But I'll figure that out when I get the chance.

I like the stars where they are currently placed! But if you want more walking space maybe move them next to the rangers instead of in front of each of them

Sadly there’s not enough space for each one to go next to they’re like a fraction to big to sit on the left of the black ranger and on the right of the blue ranger so the sides are only good for some of them

I would make a couple suggestions if you allow me.
The bedroom is basically as perfect as you can get it in the game I think. Like the only thing maybe is trying to find a door custom design and instead of using a partition using glow in the dark stickers customized with it to make the “door”.

In regards to the studio: First I would rotate the Mona Lisa. I would also replace the studio fireplace with a marble fireplace as well. For the curtains I would also use the green tree pattern from the natural pattern collection you get from Sable. There also appear to be two lutes near the painting in the reference so if you can maybe add an acoustic guitar or ukelele.

That’s all I can think of atm. I do wish there was a black dala horse figure to put atop the fireplace but alas.

Yeah yeah, thanks! For whatever reason, setting an item in each slot on the table really highlights how it's quartered up. Putting an object in the center on one half helps negate that visual. Other than possibly swapping the corners the evergreen ash and barrels are in once I get home, I'm quite satisfied with the room.

I believe those are partition walls, so no dice with wall stuff
I'd cheat it by just filling in the space. You can move things around to be a triangle so it looks less bare but still simple. By adding different wood types (the scheflerra wicker) and more greenery with it and the terrarium there'd be more depth too.
I'd fill the space by the door in front of the dresser so it's not as flat hugging one side of the wall, then you can fill the space with wall stuff on that side.

So I use room sketch to sketch out my house and fill it in as I obtain items, and of course rugs are the hardest to come by so I substitute until I get what I intended.

...I think I'm leaning toward my substitutes now. Left would be intended, right is what was substituted. Now that I have the intended rugs on hand I don't know if I like them as much.

Yeah I agree I kept the modern wavy. The color block is just a lot more interesting.

But I did switch to the light stones and I think I do now prefer the original look of having the same shade rather than the depth of two different tones with the dark stones

Love your kitchen! So cute. I feel like you can fit in a short counter by the window. I'm using an anthurium for an example but fill it in with any decor you can. That way that window isn't blocked, you have more counter space, and instead of the focal point being the pantry it's the kitchen instead.

And then reuse the pillar you have at that window to double up the edge of the counter on the left, so it frames the counter exactly.

I fell in love with room sketch. I just used it for my entire house and now I'm working on the other player accounts houses. I just wish they made it possible to use in your own home and it just doesn't not spawn anything you don't have (and make it work for the hotel too). I also wish you can have multiple drafts and that you can exit out without saving.

Btw there's a tangled cords item if you didn't know, and I personally like using a custom design on simple panels for sound proofing (besides the perforated wall) Love the 70s vibe. Weirdly enough I mean this positively that I can smell the tobacco

I banged out the entire house inside and out after several months of it sitting empty except for the living room. Room sketched each room and filled it in with substitutes if I didn't have it on hand. Shoutout to having 5 accounts, Wardell, and being lucky enough that Saharah stocked the rugs I was missing. Also it's bare of gyroids right now since I've been taking inventory.

I'm pretty happy with all of them but welcome thoughts.

I'm unsure about the kitchen/dining. The lighting is atrocious but the windows are east-west and the wall space is so much more useful. I'm entertaining the idea of rotating the entire room and having at least one window but I'm too attached to the idea of keeping the beach wall where it is because right behind my house is the northern coast...even though I break my own rule for the bathroom and laundry

Legitimately stayed up all night figuring out how I was gonna make the kitchen work. I went mad. And I still don't know if I like this — I just thank god for room sketch.

Idk. Theres only so few layouts I ended up being even slightly happy with and this was the best I could muster . For convenience, first clip is room sketch and second is what it currently is.

To reiterate I thought the lighting was dismal without a window, and as this is the north room it meant the left and right walls had them and it got in the way of precious wall space.

Thanks! Easily the most difficult of the rooms and the one that took the longest, so I'm happy for the compliments. This is the first time I used custom glow in the dark stickers so it was a learning curve for sure.

So this isn't a representation of what you should and have to do; I have just been in the mood to play around in room sketch and I really love the palette you chose and wanted to give you a formed thought process with visuals and I needed to "draw it out", if that makes sense.

I definitely think you don't need to introduce dark tones, or even wood tones, in the partitions. The light brick or the white marble is pretty enough. I think you just need to introduce more of those tones on the floor with things like counters or items of similar textures or colors since you have these blues and whites all over. In a small room dark tones will just unnecessarily break up the airiness. I think the wood in your floor furniture and the lighting is enough.

In the first clip I introduced more of the light brick by lining the walls with the same brick. And then in the second clip I figured what if we used the marble instead so there's a flatter texture to contrast with the tiles everywhere.

I always require the following in my villagers' homes: a bed, a seat, a work table, a stove, a music player, a musical instrument, a wardrobe, three gyroids, and EVERYTHING needs to be accessible for the villager.

Revisited Tangy's. It was a mistake. I wasted my Wednesday night, pretty much all of yesterday, and this morning trying to make it work. I gave up and restarted at least ten times, and it's not an exaggeration. The fruit set is a nightmare in this game — the palm tree lamp and pear bed are in the running for the most infuriating pieces of furniture in this game, I SWEAR.
