ah sorry, i don't believe there is a check for specifically weeds spreading from existing weeds - they will go up and down cliffs if there are no free adjacent tiles of the same height. however, they never randomly spawn up there -- you need to have nearby weeds for it to happen

I moved out sherb the 15 day method, Got him in boxes, TT until there was an open plot, and then I still see him walking around but the plot is empty!!!

I tried tt to see if the plot would automatically get filled NOTHING. I went to resident services to talk to Tom nook and asked if I could move a resident’s house and sherb name is there. I asked sherb If I could move his house now I can’t put the plot down in a open space. I’m so confused

I don't really consider it a proper dupe because it's a pain in the ass. it takes two people, it fails often, and it's slow as hell. things get weird in a lot of online games that have trading if there's a latency/save discrepancy so it's not a "glitch" in the same way the rest of the stuff in this channel is, it's just taking advantage of an issue many games have

@pure summit This happens a lot on catalogue islands. If you lave and come back it usually manages to reset itself. Often if you stay and keep trying it will freeze or a connection error will occur. I assume it has something to due with the internet connection and trying to load # of items on the island

@silk portal glitch, if a villager remains in boxes after a day you'll need to have somebody come pick them up. no it's not possible to do on purpose afaik, if you want someone to stay keep resetting the time back from like 10pm to 8am the same day

Almost does sound like they will always choose who is slated to move out. I had that happen when I had someone already in boxes. They would only ever chose them.
I didn't try as long as you, but seems the most logical.

Never let it end. I occasionally use regular campers to kick out certain villagers and used those same techniques here. Usually it works as intended (randomly selects) but unless this instance is extremely crazy luck, then it seems cut and clear. If I let the conversation end, the card game wouldn’t even be possible anymore, right?

No, you would still play them to try and get them to stay if you progressed through the chat after they chose, it just would be locked to the one villager they chose to move out.

test B results. Stu moved in without issues but Lucky was given away instead of voided. Maybe voiding the villager may yield different results?

If you end the conversation of them wanting to move in and the game autosaves, then they would be locked to the one villager the asked to move out. You would still have to play the card game to get them to move in if you said no to them moving out a villager.
The only way you can get them to re-roll what villager they choose is to close the game well the original dialogue is open.
But I'm still not 100% sure if they get auto locked to a villager if they are already moving out. Seems like it from some of what I've experienced, but again, I never tried for very long.

Also, adopting them out could change if that instant move out bug kicks in, I'm assuming that's what you were testing for.

• moveout bug probably isn't patched and by extension villagers who asked to move can be chosen
• villagers in moving out boxes can be chosen
• villagers moving out may be the only possible chosen ones

it can produce gold, only if it was watered by a golden watering can, either by you or someone else

If you had anyone come to your island and they watered it with a gold can it gives the flower a gold flag that will remain until a gold rose is spawned, but it could also just produce a black rose a few times before making the gold. @thorny hare

I have two Switches and I worry I might have lost a villager I was transfering from one to the other! I never time travel and I did this all by the book, I thought. Can anyone tell me if this is a bug I ran into?

He wanted to move out yesterday on Island #1, so I said "yes, leave". I created a new plot for him (today) on Island #2 (Island #2 is pre-KK-Slider.) Right after that, I visited Island #1 with my Island #2 character and invited him to come to my island. He agreed. I then flew back to my island, and the plot I had made says "plot available"! But when I view the house on Island #1 as my Island #1 character, it says "I moved out".

If it helps to know: on island #2 I have six villagers, in six houses. I created a seventh plot today, then immediately visited my Island #1 to invite the villager I wanted to transfer. And I have tried flying to and from Island #1 to see if it updates the plot, it does not.

What happened?! This villager meant a lot to me (it was Raymond!) and I'm wondering if I ran into a known save glitch related to villager transfers.

The only wrinkle to my story is that I did have a disconnect. I had multiple visitors to my Island #1 when I went to claim my villager. Everything was fine — I was the second visitor, I claimed my villager, a third visitor flew in (so the game saved?) and then the first visitor left (so the game saved?) and then the third visitor left (so the game saved?) and then I was interrupted and let my Island #1 switch idle long enough to fall asleep, and my Island #2 account that had just claimed my villager got disconnected.

I guess the easy answer is "that means your Island #2 switch didn't save the villager claim but Island #1 saved that the villager left" but is that a confirmed fact, that it only saves a villager claim when you leave the island nicely?

former sucks from a user experience standpoint, latter also sucks from a user experience standpoint with the extra engineering complexity of keeping running references to the two most recent saves, all to address an age-old exploit. i can't see them picking either solution if they want to keep a healthy product experience. so it's feasibly unpatchable

So basically a friend tried to see if they could recover a villager from the void and they plot remains empty even if time passes or she time travels and can only invite villagers via amiibo or going to mystery tours

Not sure if this has been widely noted, but you can drop items on your 4th level and they'll end up in resident services box the next day. I did it with some tools, making it into an extra tool storage box

The 4th level thing is new to me, though you don't have to do that if you want them in the recycle bin. Just pick up on 2nd character or cleanup when they are on a table of sorts.

yeah, if you go back to the regular time and dont go into the game and save and quit the announcement doesn't show up.
