idk if this helps but for my beach i made it like a long nature hiking trail with some places to stop and rest, a surf board rental shop, and refreshments- lots of leaves, weeds and flowers, mushroom stuff and paths to make it look like a trail

what theme are you going for with your island, if you have one? if not, experiment with colors. you have a lot of wood items, so mix it up with flowers and colorful items like statues, food ect. to the right side of the entrance, make a small waterfall that encloses part of the area, and the buildings can start around that corner. on the top of the waterfall can be some more flowers and statues, and you can put some rocks, shrubbery and other details in the area to make it pop. this is just what ive seen from other islands. gl!

once star trees were patched out, so were item trees. but any placed item from the trees have stayed (so far). wouldnt be surprised if the update at the end of the month fixes that

Been working on it nearly since day 1 tbh. It started as my flower breeding section, then the flowers just kept spreading until it was out of control. Dug up everything, did rows of each color with a blank row inbetween and let ‘nature’ fill in the gaps so the gradient looks natural

@warped grove if you want to hide it I suggest building up around it though it also depends on your theme. Waterfalls are a great feature. You could even put a bridge diagonal to the plaza to make it part of the design and have it on a mini island.
