blue and purple and closer to each other on the color wheel

if you're into color theory

reason why it might look a little off is because your saturated purple sign is right next to the orange benches haha

that probably isn't the style of terraforming you're going for, but i like having a surrounded entrance like that. takes up a lot of space and since you're on the 2nd level right next to it, you can walk next to the waterfalls

yeah that's a good question. I don't know. I don't want my Island to look the same in avery zone, I've seen a lot of beautiful themes on instagram and pinterest, and they're so different and beautiful. But I have a list of themes I don't want because I have already done, or because I don't like it:
•Japan
•Goth
•Kid core

sometimes i sketch things out or it really depends on my mood i like to start with water scaping and i also do it based off of what i think my villagers would like i know that sounds stupid. I like to make my water a cliffs look really random and add lots of trees flowers weeds bushes and round off the in game paths i would stick to light dirt dark dirt custom designs wood and stone but this is my personal preference and opinions. Hey, I've been having a really hard time deciding the "levels" of my island nothing seems to look right. I was wondering if some kind people who spam me their maps so I can get a good idea what to raise and such. I already know what I want in each section of my map but I just can't translate the raising area part :(

I'm levelling my island and I want some tips for utilizing the most space while keeping it functional and symmetrical.
I don't like vertical space so I am considering breaking everything up into smaller quadrants of maybe 10x10 or 16x16 I think is the grid of each map box.
I need a plaza entrance with flower breeding space for visitors to water. I want the shops to be central where they are easy for me to get to from my house and easy for visitors to get to without traversing my entire island.
I need my house(s) to be in the middle enough that it's not too far to walk to get to any part of the map. I hate the mountains and rivers because they get in the way but I need them for texture and fishing, so would love tips there.
Finally, all the jagged space near my beach always goes unused because I can't make it even so tips for that would be great!

Understandable. I took a piece of paper and drews shapes until I was happy with it. For my general terraforming it's a a swirl behind town hall because I wanted my terraforming to look like it had a bit of movement on my map, you can kinda see it here in this picture

I'm now in the process of spreading out my villagers so it goes more with the movement of my terraforming

I can try and give you some advice if you know what you want things to look like, but generally it helps to design your your island bit by bit as themed areas and then go from there
