@brisk kernel why don't you try to put Nook's and Able's on either side of the resident services and make a big plaza maybe? Close to airport is pretty good in case you want visitors next time and can have a fenced space so people don't get to other parts of your island if you don't want them to

Are there other people that have completly cover each 3 by 3 squares except 6 squares of their island in order to place their rocks at a specific place? I've done it yesterday. The first rock spawn at the right place this morning. While waiting 5 other days, I decided that I will download some design path, not nowing that it will have for consequence to remove my manquins on my island wearing the designs I deleted.... Use organic lines--meaning, minimize straight lines, square angles or regular curves. Not every edge has to be rounded, but it helps if you pit flowers or bushes on the square tiles you leave by the river--they help make thinfs look natural.

Something I've been trying lately with my terraforming and waterfalls is gradually increasing how wide they are per square with the first water fall being the most narrow and the bottom being widest. Sort of trying to mimic how water collects from streams in mountains into rivers and eventually deltas and into the ocean

@pallid trench I can't get photos right now but I do have some ideas! For normal villagers you could do a library. For lazy you could a food venue or restaurant. For cranky you could do like a old forest cabin. For peppy you could do a band or stage play. For snooty you could do a sort of outdoor ables sisters or a zen/flower garden. And for jock you could do a pool or fitness area!

What I did on my island which really added a nice touch was to put different coloured aroma pots (DIY) at the foot of the poolside beds.

Hmm a good way to start is to plan out your "main attractions" rough location. Eg. Campsite, museum, shops, residential area, main park or flower garden, entrance, ROUGH SHAPE OF YOUR RIVER. Once you have a rough idea of those, it's just a matter of making the paths and filling out the smaller areas in between them

My example would be placing my nooks and ables. Then deciding I want it to be a market district, so I made a food market street behind the two shops. Then from there I had space on the beach next to it so a tiki bar was a logical conclusion. These all came after each section/project was completed

@thorn zinc I could try to help u! It’s a little hard since u don’t have terraforming but if u want three stars I say to make little areas and start putting down tons of flowers, trees, and fencing. Since u are getting Isabelle soon that means u can see ur rating pretty soon so when u get her just work on whatever says u need improvement on! But overall designing gets easier when u have terraforming (sorry if this was long lol)

another tip is to use Happy Island Designer! I was so frustrated with my island because i would spend hours terraforming only to hate it and tear everything down after. Being able to draw out the map beforehand on an Island Designer saves a lot of time and it's much easier to visualize where you want everything to go

I was actually thinking about designs that was nicely made in a single photo frame aka ~12 grid wide without needing cropping or angles but not very coherent when zoomed out or lacks a certain ..... “flow” to it that’s needed when you are traveling from point to point.
