@woven drift Just destroy all current rocks and cover every two spaces you don’t want them at with random things then wait for them to spawn in the right place. Designs are a good choice but manaquins will be easier to remove later

@steel kindle I see what you're going for here, I know it's kinda parallel to what you're asking but I'd look at Vapourwave aesthetic islands. Things like pillars and purple palm trees and lights would help create something like that, maybe I'd have to rewatch the show to get a better idea.

Yeah honestly same but the reason I say this is because I've done considerably better stuff after flattening my island down in advance then with the rando generated island layout.

Even if you just wanna do it as it comes like you and I, I feel those small things in advance make a great difference.

Also to add I agree with you, gathering inspiration is definitely planning in itself.

yeah these things are especially personal, for some it helps not having a theme and for some it helps to have it. for some flattening the island helps the inspiration flow better and for some it does the opposite.

Obviously it does depend on what you wanna go for with your island, But personally (although I’m still just in planning) will go for some cliffs with waterfalls and a diagonal bridge. Not sure exactly how you mean with 14 tiles away, since they both be counted horizontally and vertically, but here’s my example:

Or even farther back and walking under the arch towards the chair. You could even try using the one button that forces your character to try and look at the camera to make it look like they’re looking to the side

@woven drift I kind of did something similar to what you mentioned. Certain villagers I grouped. Such as my cubs: Pekoe, Stitches and Judy. And gave them a big cub/teddy bear area. But I also split some up like Zucker in the bottom right. Or Ankha in the middleish near my shops. So I think that would look good! Even spreading some out for their own areas would be cute!

@woven drift Personally, I've put them together depending on how sociable or not they are. The villagers that are always out and about and hang out with each other all the time live on my "main" island near resident services and the shops, then the villagers that like to keep more to themselves and spend most of their time indoors live across the river from the main area to give them a bit more privacy 🙂

I could lower the 1 on the sides and have a 1 high hill in the center back but rather than going all the way to the back have a pond rather than the 2 sides and have my center hill on the back of the lake
