So my strategy for rock gardens isnt as difficult and tedious as some others. I just built the rest of my island first and left it to spawn naturally in every nook and cranny (haha) of my garden

I can help with both. So the basic idea is that they only spawn on sand/dirt/grass

#

You can block off areas with fences and items if needed. But i waited until I had only the garden left to billd

#

So there was no chance of the stones appearing elsewhere. And I'd just keep breaking stones in bad locations

Takes a couple of tries if you approach it less obsessively haha

That's the cloud floor with bamboo rugs

#

The trick is to use the maximum number of rugs (was it 8 or 9?) And accepting that one small rectangle will be left empty. Which you could cover up to give the illusion of using some non existing bamboo floor or otherwise. And, you should try to fit the rugs together like puzzle pieces but I can take an areal view of it if you struggle with it

OMG I made a Coelacanth model once and I have never been more disappointed in my life 🤧 One thing that can help the fish models is to place them behind flowers. This hides the stand somewhat and the motion of the flowers gives a bit of an illusion of life to it? imo @keen otter

@woven drift there are some good guides on google if you look up rock garden to show you how to do it. I suggest using custom pathing since its easier to put down than the mannequins but the mannequins are easier to clean up.

Mine i kept simple. I did add a stone arch in the walkway since this pic but super super basic rock garden. And i started it at 70% of my island done and finished it within 20-30 mins in one night with placing not too too many mannequins

Yeah gifting more items pushes out old stuff in villager inventory but I think they can only hold up to 30 something items/clothes so they'll start to throw out furniture in their house to compensate 😯

@ionic cradle of course! it also depends on your theme. I'm a huge fan of the foresty/natural theme, so that's my rule of thumb, but you can always do cute seating areas, a stall with stuff, little ponds, etc 🙂

@novel pebble here! I didn't remember my cliffs correctly so just the back and front cliffs is right up against the RS lol, but left and right cliffs can be right up against it as well :)

@balmy jacinth start from the entrance and dont worry too much about messing it up, its all trial and error. just keep working it until you like it.

@balmy jacinth here is a good terraforming guide, but honestly my biggest advice is don't worry about messing it up! just this week, this is my 4th or 5th try at redoing my entrance? (edit: hold on, grabbing guide)

maybe try moving the bridge in the second picture up a little and to the side of the airport by 1, that way it starts the movement towards the center of RS?
