I'm planning to group villagers by hobby type and make small areas based on that hobby around their houses

3 of them have eastern style houses so I was going to use bamboo there anyway, the rest are either regular homes or log homes.

that would probably be a good idea if you want a more natural looking river; mine is just one and doesn’t have any bends coming off of it but if you want one with lots of twists and turns that would probably be best

I've been living in a long forgotten white desert for the whole season

Is it best to take down every cliff and then model your island the way you want it or work around cliffs?

@patent arrow I personally found it easier to just start from the entrance and work my way out. I think flattening an island can be hard to work with especially if terraforming cliffs can be a little overwhelming and frustrating

@forest fern Your map layout is actually pretty great IMO! You can have a long entrance that leads to anything you want like a plaza or so because your town hall doesnt get in the way! Your flyover view is also great since again, the town hall wont get in the way. I also like the positioning of the estuaries since one is horizontal and the other is vertical. Those two rock formations on the left side of the beach also screams opportunity!

@digital oasis it’s honestly all trial and error. Resetting and starting over sucks. So I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you’re going to redo your island I would recommend starting from the entrance and working your way out
