@last ether so you could probably ask if anyone is hosting in #cataloging and basically you could go to someone’s island. Bring 9 items that aren’t DIYs, redd items, saharah items, etc. Usually there is a big square dedicated to everyone. You’ll go to a square, drop 9 items. So you’d stand in the middle and drop all the items you brought. Go around (usually clockwise) and pick up the other 9 items someone else dropped and then drop them right back down. And go all the way around until you back to your own items. Then when you go back, you can use the ABD to purchase the items from nook shopping! Sorry the explanation is long hahaha

@blazing night I only placed my villagers on the sand all at once to make room on my island to do other things. So they’ll fit technically but it more than likely won’t look good. So I’d suggest a mixture of you want some on the beach!

this is my entrance at night, i think it looks great but it looks a little meh in daylight. tried making some changes and i think it looks better now? ill have to wait and see in the evening. ill post the updated one next (not looking for any feedback per say just ranting)

first the lanterns and streetlights didnt match, so i changed the streetlamps to black, but then the garden bench didnt match so i had to change that to one with a black outline

also put blue flowers because the flowers go from pink-purple so it made since next one would be blue

Hi!! @manic sigil it does look really good at night! in my opinion, and this is just a suggestion, what could be changed to make the daylight version look better are the flowers, i feel like there is a lot of different colors (especially on the right side)! maybe stick to one flower scheme you can spread around. I think keeping a blue/purple/white flower pattern around the area would look good!

@barren mulch don't know how unique this is, but I haven't seen anyone do anything similar on here. I have 6 of my residents lined up down a canal district with yards that are 7x6 (I think haha it's been a while) :) map and a yard for reference

The canal tho specifically fit in my island theme, which is LA haha.

Well you don't really need to give them yards, you can just put them in a zone that fits their houses' aesthetics, for exemple : Erik's house is a log cabine, so you can put it in a lumberjack zone.

It makes things more fluid on your island

@crimson hull if there is enough space for you to add a cliff, you can use that feature to divert visitors to the left or right on a side path to the RS! People have done diagonal bridges as well to make the airport and RS "line up" more :) if your area is too small to do either of those, many people just make the best out of it and do a simple path to the RS since there's not too much you can do unfortunately 😔 here are some examples (pic not mine)

@heady estuary shrubs are like flowers in that theyre very easy to dig up and bury! id say try placing them in certain spots at first and if they look weird you can easily move them around~

why do all people restart you can terrafor everything and make it fit and i know that because i also didn´t like my layout but i still made something out of it ... and i litterly at first had a urban island and now it´s a cottage natural type of island

Totally reforming your island is a LOT of work, you have to move houses endless amounts of times which costs 50k each time you move it, most times simply resetting the game is the best way to go about it

@woven drift some people got very unfortunate with RS placement or maybe they dont want to go through the effort of all the terraforming. I honestly have worked so hard to get DIYs and my catalog that I wouldn't restart but some people feel they need to.

@rustic gorge I think we have a very similar map! :) For suggestions, it really depends on what theme you're going for~ I have a city so the front is pretty much flat and the back strip is a natural hiking area so there's terraforming and small ponds/rivers. For now I'd say just place your houses in a place that's not in the way for when you start terraforming, and if you want a more natural landscape, you can choose to not touch the rivers or mess with them minimally since I know there are a lot of ppl who struggle with making rivers natural again after they filled it in :)

@rustic gorge ooh yeah, the rivers in game do take up a large space 😔 best advice I can give is to practice making smaller rivers on the side first and see how well you like them before going in to fill up the natural ones! :)

@rancid furnace fencing depends a lot on your theme and what you are doing in that area. I use one fencing throughout my neighborhood since it gives it a more uniform look.
