i think if you used the backsides of some Brown Climbing Walls, you can make it more of a closed off, legitimate shop facade. also look into some custom patterns you can display to add to the theme @daring tiger

@golden nest That looks like it will work. you shouldnt need to move the tree but I would just move it and then move it back once the rocks have shown up just to be safe. ^-^

@swift palm depends on if you want pathing to show up on your map. Using the game's pathing puts a path on your map, whereas only doing custom pathing (and NOT overlaying on top of default paths) makes it so no path shows up on your map

@pliant moth It looks good just be aware that you can't plant flowers/bushes/trees too close to the border on those types of paths since the corners are usually their own custom design. so you may want it a bit more spaced out.

my advice is try to accentuate graphical features unique to your island such as your river mouths , boulders, redds Beach location, peninsula , etc , so for instance if you have a peninsula in front of a river mouth , you could put a cliff on the peninsula to make it look like a distant island

Okay so this is obviously a rough sketch but I’m trying to figure out how to organise my villager houses. Here are the ideas:

1. Neighbourhood idea.
   5 On top, 5 Below. Each will have a 7 by 7 grid for exterior decoration.

2. The layout i have rn.
   I’ll raise it by 1 level so its not on the ground. Basically the houses are pretty close together with a 3 space gap horizontal and a 4 space gap horizontally. Not room for decoration apart from maybe 1 or 2 objects.

3. Circle houses.
   Basically 4 houses in a sort of square with a decorated center, and 8 will be on the 1st level and my 2 fave villagers will be beside the staircase with a 6 x 6 exterior decoration.

Can you guys help me pick please and sooo sorry for the moassive paragraph 😭 Maybe by reacting with the number 1,2 or 3?

Question guys: how do I go about building a “natural” looking cedar forest?

'natural' forests are a little difficult to get when you have more industrial-looking paths. I'd recommend making a rough sketch of a few paths you want going through your forest with a dirt path or 'the path'
After that, choose your furniture and place it where you think it'll look nice and plant a bunch of cedars everywhere. Don't make them line up, make it jagged. Not to mention, a pure cedar forest doesn't always look appealing. I'd recommend mixing in a few hardwood/fruit trees OR some bamboo trees

Also natural forests look good with a cobblestone path, I used cedar trees and regular trees to make a natural looking forest and added some mush lamps to get a fairy forest feel and added some statues
