@inland oxide I try to add as much trees as possible to make the forest look dense. But you also don’t want too much. But when placing trees down. Don’t line them up straight. Place them sporadically and unevenly

@short reef I think there’s a good option of paths to use. I used a variety for my tropical island. I use terra-cotta as the main road. But you can also use dirt roads or sand roads. I also use the wooden path for some areas as well.

But the best advice to get books is find someone who’s Nooks is selling them, pay them (usually a couple NMT for a trip) and fill up as many books as you can!
