@tight badge what I do when I'm island hopping is look up the villager's house when I see them on the island. that way you can immediately see if they'll fit your aesthetic or not and you won't have to worry about finding the specific few on your list

@random jewel wha i did with one of my yards, was make it 6 x 6, having hedges around the side to the front, with counrty fence mixxed in to make it look nicer, i then added a wood deck at the front, a table and chairs set against the fence, and it looks nice, but to the right i had some unused space., so i put a silo there, a mush log and some firewood, and used lots of custom paths, and it blended in the main path nicely, and looked awesome, so you canj start with that size, and blend it into the street whereever you have empty space so it looks bigger

@coral shale but really you don’t need that much space. A lot of ppl tend to give a lot of space to their areas just because they want a lot of walk room and don’t want to make it seem too cluttered. But when you do that, it takes away from other parts of the island that could be used more efficiently.

Also, when they are spread out more, they are more willingly to explore the island compared to staying in one neighborhood. When they are all together, they tend to not explore other bits. @normal sentinel try to work with what you have as best as possible. if you MUST tear something down. you need to have a plan because you might regret it later on. also it depends on your theme. if you have a more natural them. i would say try to work with what you have as much as possible

@normal sentinel also that applies to rivers too. ppl tend to have a hard time working with them and when they tear it down and try to rebuild, its hard for them. if you know exactly what youre gonna do, then go for it. but its really all trial and error until you are content with what you have. once you tear everything down, you cant go back. so work with what you have as best as possible.

@plain raven no problem! Personally I like to give whole areas to my villagers rather than giving them yards so that it doesn’t restrict them to one area to move around. When villagers are spread out, then tend to explore more because they have to walk to the rs or to their friends house.

@cyan cedar i like the terraforming you've done so far! i'm a fan of hoppy stones, but if you think a bridge would be more interesting for that space, why not try it? the only reason i can think for it to be hard to do is that you'll have to make the river sides more even so you can place the bridge, but i like the natural uneveness you have now

don't use four inclines, it's such a waste. if the asymmetry will bother you, put the incline wayyy off to the side so you can't see it when you look at the museum

@gritty stag You can use stalls and place the items you’ll be selling on them. U can also custom design the stalls cloth to fit what your selling. Also u can put signs to show it’s a market place.
