You can plant coconut trees on sand for even more tropical
Using a mixture of bright flowers (yellow, orange, pink tulips, purple, blue) tends to give a more tropic vibe imo

@woven drift if you want a neighborhood-type layout, i'd put them in the top right and terraform the cliffs and rivers to be more even. if you want a natural layout, i'd scatter your villagers into different places where they might fit on the map

just remember that you can't remove the river mouths where the rivers meet the ocean, and they tend to look better with some water attached, so maybe a little waterfall or a small river attached to them, and then the big fishing spot in the middle 😮

@drifting light my villagers have themed areas by themselves! i think it works really well with a more natural theme. if you aren't sure where to put them, moving them to the beach while you work on the rest of your island is a good plan.

for larger natural spaces I see a lot of people use custom design tiny flowers mixed with actual flowers, and for plazas it’s usually pathing plus decorations and stalls

@arctic gate hey, I had the same problem for a few days. Try opening up another spot for it to appear and see if it's just stuck in limbo. If it does come up somewhere else, destroy it again and remove all the things surrounding the area, and maybe open up another spot next to it. Mine just wanted to move to the spot next to the one I chose 🤷🏻♀️

@red cosmos advice on what specifically? If it's about how to take down your island and redoing it, what I typically do is start on one section at a time (like 1/4 of the island) and slowly take down/build from there. I put all my shops and flowers on the other empty beaches beforehand!

@atomic harness there's always hope imo, as long as you're willing to be creative. your RS is close but 10 (ish?) spaces is still a reasonable amount to work with and your island name could be interpreted many ways - maybe your theme is tropical, or you have a lot of pink flowers, etc
