I like having this as a sort of airport drop-off/waiting area but don't really know how to decorate it. Fountain felt awkward to get around when placed here.

@woven drift I tried to keep my island in the general shape of my original island. I’m giving my shops and museum their own themed level, they’re all kind of on their own sectional islands created by my river outlets (I’ll post a pic in a sec)
Idk the lots of rivers help with sectioning areas imo

@sweaty eddie#5775 not many ideas but I did the exact same thing! try not to look at the island as a whole, do small areas you know you want (id suggest starting with your shop and museum areas) also watching plenty of island tours is great advice

I’ve got my entrance straight to my shops, camp had its own little decorated area, planning on adding a “mine site” to the left of the museum in C3, top right I’m planning a lighthouse beach cafe, the residential service area will be for most of my villagers along with bottom left, I’m putting my house on the little nook by the airport, I’m doing “hiking” trails above the museum area with maybe a villager or two up there, top left is a graveyard area where I want lucky to live

after you are finished then you can work on everything flowing well with each other with smaller details

@woven drift my biggest advice would be to use/decorate those big rocks on the back of your island!! Not just the secret beach, the whole back. The views are beautiful and everyone seems to just pile their mountains on the north side of the island and blocks them off completely. If your mountains are further forward, you'll have better long-distance views if that makes sense

It’s also very important to keep in mind that your minimap/map can look like TRASH, bare, or godly and your island can still be beautiful. I learned that the suuuuuper hard way.

@frigid cargo I’m at work so no photos, but I almost do like a little patio off the side of each house. It’s small so there’s really only room for a chair and table, some kind of activity or decoration on the table that fits their personality
