I'd consider spreading the houses out more, @viscid slate. It will make the villagers use more parts of the island to make it more lived in. The layout is really pretty, though!

@viscid slate looks good! I did a similar concept and moved my villagers to the back right of the island and have them set up on tiered cliffs, although mine is a bit more wild / natural setting rather than the gated community style.

@shadow bramble the way those rivers would end wouldn't be realistic, but you can strive for something close to this within the logical constructs of the game. The river at the top would have to be a waterfall made by you, the one on the right wouldn't be logical too. And beaches wrap around the whole island no matter what. Also, there will have to be a secret beach somewhere on there.

im never really sure how to even plan my island, is it worth it to terraform and then build inclines and bridges as i go with the possibility of having to demolish them if i regret it

@bold pivot - play the stalk market enough so you don't regret having to demolish. Just know that your island will grow, change and evolve over time, especially as you terraform. Just focus on one small piece at a time.

@bold pivot I tend to terraform and mark out the areas where i want structures to go using dirt first, add all the trees, flowers decorations etc until i'm sure i really want the houses/incline/bridge there :) Can always mark out the 4x4 area for houses or the 6x2 plot for bridges using dirt path or something

@empty dagger Depends on your theme! Outdoor libraries, markets or cafes work. If you have a city theme, you can put a small diner area, gym or arcade, if you want more natural things, you can just fill the space with some trees and make a garden with some wooden furniture

@rugged sorrel Definitely depends on the area and the purpose of the paths. i have alleyways in my city area that are only 1 block wide, same goes for foresty areas. Generally though i try to go for 2 wide, and i have fatter diagonal paths in quite a few areas

In case anyone else is curious, I priced out how much it would cost to level the map, move all buildings to the beach, and rebuild/relocate buildings. @woven drift if i were you i'd definitely devote some land for a combined yard area for coco and ankha, i've done something similar but for pietro and stitches. Definitely have some sand flooring and i think the oasis idea @onyx hill suggested sounds great, having some palm lamps/palm trees, a water feature and a place to showcase the sphynx and pyramid is a good place to start, you can add the details in later

@woven drift I'd start by just marking off the area where their house should go first and decorate the surrounding area, before going in to move the houses there in case you decide you want to move them just a little bit. I put pansies in areas with darker flowers, because they tend to fit well together with pink/red/orange. I have them in my spa/tiki bar area.

@restive tangle that's one option, I know that the white and yellow pansies also work really well together if you have a lot of other white and yellow flowers. They add some contrast that really makes everything stand out.

I didn't really get into flower breeding as much, so most of my flowers are the standard starting ones (this is partially because I use a LOT of flowers and don't have the patience to get loads of hybrids). That being said I've only ever made one hybrid pansy, that being by accident on a rainy day. As is pretty evident, they are hard to place.

Putting them with the blue and purple flowers does seem like a good idea, i have quite a few of them lying around... @plain hatch I found the rare flower island once and it had pansies so i dug up a bunch of the blue and orange hybrid pansies hahaha, the rest mostly came from rainy days and then cloning the single hybrids i had over time

I see, thanks for the offer! Currently don't have enough hacinths though for it to fit in though. Going to start breeding single flower variants until I get all hybrids. Pretty much the last thing in the game I need to do, other than finishing the museum of course.

The theme you go for would depend on the area you put them in, eg. if you have a city theme then i'd do the chic style, but if you put it in a forest area then definitely the garden style furniture! The default pink ones honestly just hurt my eyes.

I was holding off on adding trees to those areas since they aren't quite developed yet, there was also a suggestion to add a ticketing booth to the entrance areas which i do like the idea of ^^ I'll definitely see if i can fit some trees behind the red stalls though

I'm concerned because as you said, I feel like it might be really flat but also the area might not be big enough for a nice cliff area?

im really struggling with my rating, i got the three stars, got kk and terraforming etc. but then it went down. i have no idea why. i have been completely revamping my island all month, terraforming, making flower gardens, personalized yards, shop areas, entrace, you name it.

i dont know why, its making me really upset. i have no idea what im doing wrong, each time i talk to isabell she says plant more flowers, but i have a huge flower farm and flowers all around the island.. still not enough??

@quaint fjord If i remember correctly, the maximum number of dropped items is 12 or so, but yeah i don't think anyone really goes round counting the number of specific items they have, i only finished 1/3 of my map and i hit 5* o.o I think, just go along the game and make things pretty along the way and you'll hit it eventually!
