So okay... i have this island within my island right in the middle, it has two inclines, its my secret garden and orchard. But i really need more inclines other places, and i want to move one of my homes so i think ive made an entire plan. Ok, as much as I love the custom path and the way it looks I am a simple person and I feel like giving up and using the vanilla paths, wood for the low forest part of my island and strobe for the mountain area of my island also I will give up on diagonal paths this way it will look nice make logical sense and still give me the joyful sound of running on paths (unlike the custom path that mute sound) (the only way I will go back to diagonal paths is if someone makes actual diagonal pathing for the vanilla paths and not the meh rounded corners)

So, I finally settled on a theme I want for my island, and that's Astrology/Zodiac!! >W< I'm super excited about that

So first off, I realized pretty quick that I wouldn't be able to fit all 12 zodiac signs as villagers. Which is unfortunate, but that's no big deal, cuz I had a better idea uwu I'm gonna have 8 villagers representing the 4 different elements!~ >w< and then, the last two will be focused on positive, and negative energies uwu

Uhhh I haven’t been using Android for a long time but you can always try using Facebook’s messenger to send the video to yourself. While you do that, you can always use it to trim and compress your video

At most your video shouldn’t be more than 1:00mins long, or else it’d still be too big, hope you get lucky ahah

just unlocked terraforming + paths but i’m finding it really difficult to look for ideas for the entrance (when you just walk out of the airport). i’m going for a beachy summertime aesthetic so what type of entrance would fit? i’d really appreciate any ideas since i cant find any decent images on pinterest or youtube

I'm gonna disagree on the rivers thing, they're the hardest thing to terraform back. tweak them by all means, but if you demolish you're in for a painful time rebuilding them.

also i kinda wanna consider what types of additions are my options, besides more shops/houses/resource spots. @versed wadi mostly its just, well i cant get myself to do something without some principal to go off of, so the issue isnt making it look good to me, but having the principals to execute my ideas so i dont get frustrated trying to make something work with a method more reliable then random guessing. @woven drift yeah i just need to smooth out the rivers a bit so i can place bridges in better spots and fit things a bit more in line, i wanna keep it sorta faitful to the base layout, but maybe a bit more raised, like have the houses on various elevations once i figure out the inbetweens and the chunks of my islands future areas

FINALY ok my island is not done yet and this video is only here because the original video was too big apparently and it would be silly to dump 20 pictures in a row so here is the highlights of my island with text pertaining to each picture the island is all hand made after I flattened it out and its all Vanilla the only custom paths used are weed blockers aka the invisible design

My paths are glitching??? Like some disappeared and I have path markers the same size as house plots so when the house is placed the path disappears but now it’s just sitting under the house and I can’t get rid of it. This hasn’t happened to me before is anyone else having this issue?

@restive tangle I draw on my maps too when I’m planning a big redo lol. As long as you’re flexible about changing something that doesn’t work it’s really useful. The pointy top of your big island might not be so pointy in game, that’s all I’m really seeing here

Ignoring where any of the houses are (since they’re going to be moved eventually), does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could put my shops? I’m going for a forest-y theme and I’d like them both to be close to each other

@woven drift I dunno its kinda hard to visualise. Maybe use something like Happy Island Designer to plan your general layout and then come back. Its just bit hard to give an opinion right now when there isn't much to look at.

@woven drift I would write down everything that you plan to build and start brainstorming where things will have to go (i.e. my lighthouse and fisherman's wharf had to be on land sticking out into ocean, the riverfront will have to go on river etc) once you have some spaces filled its easier to fill in open spaces with everything else

@slender tulip i wasn't sure what i wanted to do with my rivers so what i did was i saved a picture of my map to my PC and drew over it until i liked the look of the rivers i created, and then i tried to imitate that in-game
