@winter flint Check Twitter. Believe me, I based my design roughly off of stuff I saw there, and got more design ideas from it. Though, typically for close island entrances, you have the liberty of decorating it to feel really cozy, which is something you don’t get with other islands that have the RS farther away. My recommendation is to terraform and try to pull attention/route to the town hall from the airport.

I also draw blanks, but I think starting on the permanent structures is a good start, like the town hall, rivermouths, airport, pier, secret beach, and build off of those. Then I'd look at the exterior of your dream villagers houses and see where you think those would go and with what theme. I know I have Audie so I put her on the beach and I gave her a good yard while only taking up this much space. And I want julian and his house looks like it would fit on a mountain top, so I'm going to try and make a mountain somewhere to put his house. Things like that that might give you an idea on what to do.

Well with double south you can go symmetrical or you can just get rid of one of the rivers

@tight pecan Firstly, your houses are a bit close together for a non-neighborhood layout, and not organized enough to be considered a residential district, id recommend either moving them into an organized grid or spacing them farther out from eachother.
Secondly, the shapes you used when terraforming are stiff and unnatural, be aware of the theme of your island and base everything off of that. City/urban theme? Blocky, straightedge terraforming and an organized house area. More natural? Try spacing them out a bit more, rounding the cliffs and making them uneven! It really depends on your theme.

@tight pecan Firstly, your houses are a bit close together for a non-neighborhood layout, and not organized enough to be considered a residential district, id recommend either moving them into an organized grid or spacing them farther out from eachother.
Secondly, the shapes you used when terraforming are stiff and unnatural, be aware of the theme of your island and base everything off of that. City/urban theme? Blocky, straightedge terraforming and an organized house area. More natural? Try spacing them out a bit more, rounding the cliffs and making them uneven! It really depends on your theme.

@lean oar you could also go the natural route and do some trees, flowers, and shrubs. Personally, those are my favorite things to decorate with...except trees in some cases. Water-scaping is a royal pain with those

@lean oar if you have access to hedge fences, try putting those on the fringes of the path, then put any greenery behind it. (The fence is entirely solid, which is great for sectioning off areas)
