@terse hollow So I just picked one specific area (my airport area) and just worked on that before I moved on. Working on small spaces and then making them go together helped keep me from getting overwhelmed!

@rugged rain yeah but be careful with inspiration stuff like this cause you can't really make rounded edges so a simple design (in theory) like a cat head or bear head with the water terraforming tool is basically impossible. you can still make rounded edges but it becomes more of a problem the wider and bigger you go

i got impulsive last night and wanted to transform my island a little bit more, especially my entry way which you’ll see a before and after of! my island is pretty much at its natural state except for the minor terraforming that i have done, after like 6 hours+ of non stop playing around with the plot of land i FINALLY got the site perfect, it’s still a huge wip but i got it!

Ahhhh, yeah, I really like things to be organized in sections but what I planned on doing was,, after I came up with an organized, spacious yet eye-pleasing layout, I would plant trees, plants, put down walk ways, and have little areas like for the shops and fruit trees, etc

@hot atlas i'm sure you are talented just as much in your own way but a lot of these finished maps (note: mini maps, it only tells part of the story) are hours and hours of work and fine tuning. i see some people say "i have over 500 hours abut i don't have anything to show for it" but they probably do, just not in designing. if they spent a lot of that time on designing then other areas of their island could have suffered.. it's important to keep everything in perspective

I’ve already decided which houses will be more towards the centre than others based on their designs, labeling them front middle and back, it’s just a matter of having a planned space where nothing is cluttered, and the area is utilized to the best of its ability with its colours

@green canopy pretty much if anyone from the campsite, whether amiibo or natural campsite villager, moves in and you skip over the day where the plot becomes empty + a sold sticker on it (either jumping forward or backward) the house exterior will stay the same as the last exterior in the plot

I jus wanna say this now- just because I feel like it could help someone- if you have a character you reaaally like come into the campsite naturally, and after you convince them to move to your island they suggest to kick out one of your ABSOLUTE faves, if you exit the game and shut it down before it saves, when you re-load the game they’ll still be in the campsite and you can try again to get them to kick out a villager you like less

basically the game sends THAT version of, lets say Marina to a part of the game where, THAT marina can no longer .. uh.. exist i guess for now unless they allow for past villagers to mail you stuff or whatever. you can still find marina on an island but that marina is a NEW generated marina.
