@spark pewter i know what you mean! i can imagine it taking up a lot more space than you'd think. if i were to plan a neat canal like that with bridges along it, i would think about how to best use it so it's not a waste of bridges. basically probably you'd have to start with an empty map, do up the main canal design, and then see how you can organise everything else!

@spark pewter it's a big project. i've seen some very very nice neighbourhoods set up with straight canals that flowed from the top tier all the way down, and houses on each side! if you're willing to clear a lot of space i think this is a reallyyyy nice and neat way to plan a village

@spark pewter it really was quite cool! i chose not to do it because it took up a lot of space and was very focused on being organised and symmetrical with the planning, which is not something i enjoy. but yeah you need to plan way ahead with this! terraform all the levels first, and use paths to plan house /bridge/ramp placement, then if you're happy with it, you can move the houses over. ramps and bridges get built last so you don't waste too much money fixing your mistakes.

My island currently and what my plans for it are, it’s pretty close to completion. Basically I designed it sort of in the style of one of those old southern port cities. You have the big dense melting pot city, the farm fields and plantations just out of its limits, then the wild foresty and swampy areas. Best example I can give is Saint Denis from Red Dead.
