I would strongly advise to come up with a plan before you start terraforming! A lot of people get overwhelmed if they don’t have one and get frustrated. Personally, I never flattened everything and just improved on the layout I had picked (which I had picked because I liked it)

Honestly, my first instinct would be to reshape the river a bit so there’s more space for that stuff. Rivers usually don’t work like that (start at ocean end at ocean in a big U shape) irl, and it would bother me, but what bothers me doesnt have to (and shouldn’t lol) bother you. It might give you a bit more space to move the villages more toward the center though

@strong fable it’s deeefintely a matter of preference entirely 😊 a lot of people have awesome looking super symmetrical islands. I always think of Dubai when I see those and how hyper-engineered everything is. My own island has some strong symmetrical elements as I take inspo from French style gardens, but the rivers and such look natural, I want it to look like something you could find irl (outside Dubai or maybe china)
