Well the top bridge has too much yellow compared to the red in the ground. It's very noticeable difference to me. I think the bottom bridge works better because it blends better with red hues, and it has less to clutter the screen w/o the poles in the top bridge @turbid parrot

@sick heart try picking one building that you want to place strategically. Whichever you feel is most important to place in a good spot. Then move it. And then start decorating around it. Do some paths, flowers, furniture. And just let it sit on your mind for a few days while you tweak the surrounding area and think about what to do next.

@grim cosmos The location on the map doesn’t really matter just make sure you’re putting it somewhere that has enough room to properly ‘dress’ it with trees, cliffs, furniture items. And that fits with the flow of the rest of your island.

@sly cape i used to have a really intensely terraformed island that looked like this so if you compare my map now to what i had before it’ll make your brain hurt. but if you’re willing too; i’d really recommend just throwing your buildings onto the beach and start there. i didn’t think i could do it but with patience i was able to finish reterraforming everything in 3 days (almost nonstop+TT)

the way i did it was this:

1. i got sick of looking at my ugly island
2. bought bunch of turnip and sold for approx~8 mill all together
3. time traveled ONLY for moving buildings and demolishing/building bridges/inclines.
4. now spending most of my time slowly designing my island

a good foundation and concept goal really helped. don’t be afraid to take inspiration from others online and i def recommend joining multiple acnh discord chats to see their pictures and layouts too

@oblique reef I have a lot of foresty rural parts to my island. I have some more built up areas in the south and then as you get more north it gets more rural and have a large sort of national park area I like to call it 🙂

happened to me, so what i did is to the side of it, i put a little hill/mountains and blocked the town hall off and made it like a separate section that i have to go on the section to get to the plaza @undone comet bad at explaining so lmk if u want a pic
