@gritty comet Natural is easy then because you can stick with flowers and trees and water and well, nature-y stuff. I don't want to tell you what to do since that ruins you adding your own dash of creativity with it, but you're smart! : ) Add things you'd see in parks. Google houses for imagery. A lattice fence is definitely garden-related. Making a flower bed with the dirt path might be a good place to start. The surrounding area doesn't necessarily have to match your villagers house either, it can be thematic and match the natural look you're going for and still look good. Just play around with ideas. People make it look easy, but really, it's an on-going process.

This is my general idea for my island. I’m nowhere near close to this, but things will start getting better once I unlock terraforming. And I consider this design to be pretty flexible, as things could change in the game at some point, and I’d have to add or take away, or move something, but hopefully this gives people ideas.
