I’ve come up with an Even Better island design... this one requires a friend for some Games
1: split the entire island in half, with entrances to each half at the airport
2: get a prize!! A special visitor like celeste or a rare furniture or cash prize :)
3: this is where your friend comes in! Each of you will guard the entrance Labyrinth Style. Of of you only tells truth, the other only tells lies. Which door leads to the treasure? 
4: optional: cover your island in hedge mazes to make it more confusing and fun ;) as well as be on brand

Something I was just thinking about is a ring island, make rings of water going all the way out to the beach, rings small enough to hop over, with land in between each ring
The center could be the plaza, then a shop ring, then homes, etc.

i filled in the rivers last night and placed some pathing to get my boundaries right. my favorite tip is to use the default pathing to place boundaries because it shows up on the map so you can check scale and it isn't as hard to use as the water tool

@mondai my airport was misaligned too, but what i did was make the shop and tailor's equally spaced by the airport, and made the path broad enouh that when you step off the dock, there is an immediate center. it's kinda hard to explain w/o pictures

This is what I came up with using Happy Island Designer. I wanted to go with a more urban look, but still have some area that's natural for the campsite. Any thoughts? Not sure if too blocky
