Yeah that can be cool, but then there’s also the need to look somewhat consistent. Instead I used simple fence for everyone and then different colored flowers and decor
I haven’t decorated most of them yet because I don’t have a lot to decorate WITH but ya know
Like for example one of my snooty villagers go a pearl fountain, which also matches her interior, while a lazy villager got a barbecue

@junior berry by unlocking terraforming you can put down paths, and then you can use nook miles to unlock waterscaping & sand! So, once you have those you Can go near your beach and replace the grass that’s near the beach with sand to extend your beach, but you can’t minimize or move your beach is that’s what you were asking! Hope this helps!!
