Hi guys, really need some advice.
just got finished moving everyone to my villager area and I already hate all of it after I spent the past day on it 😦 Should I try to flesh it out completely and see how I feel about it or gut it again and start over?
I was trying to put everyone in a neighborhood/give them a backyard but I really wish I had layered them instead of keeping them all on ground level. Here are some caps:

The biggest pain I am having right now, is I gotta make heavy use of elevation. I have the island broken up into two parts. One central mass which is the Island Square. It's also the Vestible for the island. If I let people I do not know into the island, they only have access to the Meseum, the two shops, and the Town Hall. The bridges can be easily blocked off, but at the same time it won't look fugly.

I have a few really tight areas, and partially hidden paths in what I have done so far. But what I did was I made sure paths were large enough for expected traffic. At minimum 2 squares. If I am expecting to frequently run through that area, or my villagers frequents it enough, I usually make them at least 4 wide, or wider

As for exits and paths hidden by trees, I used a few tricks to make them easy to spot. A Blue sign surrounded by Orange flowers for example. Blue and Orange Contrast against one another, so it's pretty loud

@golden carbon Winding paths isn't very easy to do in animal crossing, as it's all grid based. You'll probably need 8 or more patterns to build a path like that.
The other thing is, to get that much of a lush look, you can't do it with just flowers and bushes alone. You'll need to make use of weeds as well (until Nintendo decides to add tall grasses like Mountain Grass and Cattails)

@calm oasis I’d definitely suggest utilizing inclines in some areas of the hills to make travel easier but also implement a look. I’ve seen ppl with natural color palettes use the white ramp and natural wood stairs a lot so looking for a palette similar to what you’re looking for in your island will really make your island standout 😉

Neighborhoods give a lot more space to work on other things like diners, spas, gardens etc. but if you go for a natural look it’s better to spread them out, even though you won’t have much space for other things

@languid scaffold did you do a neighborhood or spread out houses? A neighborhood gives a TON of space to work on other things but with a natural look you should have them spread out and this can also be the “bad space management”
