What do y'all think of this design? I left a whole bunch of space behind/around the plaza, shops, etc to play with - might try things like a park, cafe, or snack area like I've seen others do.

I feel kind of basic for just joining the river mouths to connect as straightly as possible, but it gives so much more room to play with things. Also - I know the homes at the top of the island I have seen a lot too but I like the look a lot.

It's a struggle. I usually find river first is easiest.

You may have to destroy parts of the river and sort of work back in a zig zag pattern depending on how tight you're trying to get them.

@pearl nimbus best bet is to Build our from your town hall, it usually only takes one small thing to spark inspiration for me it was the stone and iron fences 😂 loved them so much I made my island into a city for them! I also usually start with so I want my island to look eastern or western, from there I can cut down unnecessary bridges fences and furniture items, although it sounds like you can’t like a cute little village kind of situation, I would probably suggest like wooden pathing keeping it natural and cute, and flowers are your best friend, don’t know what to put in a section throw some flowers in, maybe take some inspiration from like villages in holland? That would be cool

This is my first animal crossing game and I got Rodney in the tent and found out after ignoring him for 3 weeks that the game forces you to take the first camp site villager so I am stuck with the rodent until he finally moves out due to being fenced in and neglected (I would have even taken the clown guy over Rodney)

Are you trying to do the incline parallel to the cliff? if so you gotta add a little bit jutting out to attach the incline to

@slim bane hah I gave Rodney a double fence every night when he is sleeping I break the inner fence by one then fill the outer fence area full of pitfall traps and then close the fence this way he wakes up and all day falls in holes while my other villagers get to walk around my 4 star island happily

Yeah. The top (not the sides) of the incline must be connected to an existing cliff.
