Mine looks something like this. Villager houses look fine but i really have no idea what to do at north of island.
@mossy bolt so i dont have a full "natural island" but my hills are mostly pretty natural. I moved my campsite up to the hills and then i have like a fishing spot, a picnic spot, the hot spring, stuff like that. the campsite just gives you kind of a hub to base things off of, so you can build paths to different sites or spots etc

This is my trade center right at the entrance of the island. I sit at the seat and have whatever I’m trading on the island in the back, good way to not get scammed if anyone is having trouble with that like I did!

@proven ivy i have a small yard or something for most villagers. I usually just choose like a chair that matches the house and some nice colored flowers that also sort of pair nicely with teh house. just a few items to keep it small tho

for some houses they have one yard paired with a neighbor and a shared flower bed or something

My entrance has shops right the entrance almost and a path for a market/chill place where I can trade and such <3 Villagers houses are everywhere on the south side (but everybody got at least 1 neighbor) and the more north you go, you'll see 5 tree gardens of each fruit with water sectioning each garden. My camping site will also have a wood/nature theme. I'm not sure about my house entrance, but I got two staircases that lead up to my house and waterfalls at both sides of it to give it a "aesthetic" feeling. Also, I'm gonna add a lot of floor lights. Thats my plan and I'm making slow progress 💔 Which is fine, I want the game to last
