Hi! Could someone help me figure out what to do? I wanna move my museum to the top left corner, and then move able sisters and nooks cranny to where the museum was. Then move the villagers on the upper part of the map somewhere altogether and build an orchard in the top right corner, does that make sense?😂 Any advice would be really appreciated!

@hollow grove yup, I've looked through a lot of pictures of people's island selection screens and I've seen 1 that had a 3rd cliff level (which is strange), but it wasn't that one. You can however terraform a third cliff level

@latent heart depends on what you're looking to do, my friend built level 2 cliffs all around her town hall and put a shopping center up there (on the left and right sides of it) & the town hall is basically hidden by the cliffs so it's kinda like a lil underground spot now and it looks really really cool on her island. especially when kk slider performs, its like a hidden party / bonfire almost ~

Whenever I start with a blank canvas, like a new game in a city-sim, I try to follow the layout of the map in general. I like having paths and buildings that conform to the procedurally-generated area that already is made to look fairly nice.

Of course, I didn't actually know beforehand that terraforming was in this game, so now I'm starting to move things around. I'll probably end up having all my islanders' homes on one section partitioned off by one of the existing rivers. My shops and museum are all on the center. The rivers and cliffs already there leave me with areas I can more easily rope off mentally to do something with later on.

For example, the 2nd-level of cliffs to the left of the river dividing the island down the middle was fairly large and rectangular in shape. I saw the soccer goal in the NM shop and thought, why not put a football pitch there?
I did have to terraform and all, but the end result doesn't differ much from the original terrain layout.

I think it's easier to just work on it piece-by-piece. If you have some ideas, start with those, and just see what kind of spaces you have left over after that
I did most of mine as I went, like I started putting down a cafe and then if it ran into a river I moved the river around, then kinda started looking at what I had left and filled them in

That's part of why I suggest that method of matching the terrain. Take a look around and decide whether a project will fit within a given space as-is, rather than considering completely carving up the land to make space for one.

It also doesn't have to be complicated right away, just start finding stuff you think works with the project, put it down, then set it aside for later. I find coming back more than once to any project, acnh or otherwise, lets you clear out your mind in a way that gets rid of problems and solutions you can't see right away.

Fencing seems like a good idea, or break it up with a flower bed (I like to use the dark dirt for that)

Yea, not many rides but I made one. Filled with the teacup ride, wall climb, slides, etc, and some stalls to act like game stands, and popcorn machines and cotton candy machine, that's what I used

@thin nova To stop it from expanding you can put transparent tiles around it so when it rains theres no where for new buds to sprout. But a good idea would be a little reading spot. Yknow how villagers always like to sit by the flowers and read? That would be a good idea.
