There is a stupid annoying bug going around that has been tested by a player here and I have experienced it to. When you use an amiibo to KICK out one of your villagers- For example Lily you want to replace her with marshal with amiibo. Lily goes into boxes. However, if someone adopts her they get the cursed plot. Check pins in Glitch and Villager trading for more info. I don't want to be off topic ;p
