you can't change the color of the grass (it changes for each season) but you can plant on dirt and i believe sand paths! you can't plant things on stone or wooden paths

hi friends. i am trying to make a simple cozy small town normcore vibes of island and i really have a small distance between the airport and my town hall. what should i put in this area? initially i was thinking of putting a fountain with benches on its sides but it will most likely "clutter" the area given i was thinking of doing a 6x6 park fountain, so i am now shaking that idea and hoping to get other ideas on what to put here

i totally feel that omg! i restarted my island 3 years ago and im still not done with my current design 😭 i changed my mind so so many times throughout the 3 years and moved everything around a lot. im just now starting to get a decent layout, and im finding places for everything. youll get there <3 itll take a lot of time and patience, but itll come to you over time and things will fall into place and feel more natural :)

hello there's this weird spot in my island that i kinda want to keep but i don't know exactly what to put either. i was thinking the following:

1. small farm - i feel like it's kinda out of place given this area is beside the road & able sister
2. small flower field - i would love this, i feel like it's never out of place, but i feel like it's too basic?
3. picnic area - i like this, i would probably use custom floor designs of picnic blankets but was also thinking it would look out of place given the area

and well those are basically my problems. i was hoping if anyone can suggest something huhuhu? or if you think one of my plans seems like a good idea, maybe anyone has a good way to make it work?

ps: also the custom designs are just there so i know how many tiles hahaha i tend to miscount without those as markers

If it does, they could go either directly on the ground or on something like a stone or log stool to raise them up a little, I think they should end up mostly hidden by flowers surrounding them :D

Some of the back edge tiles would probably work for putting the butterflies on as well but you definitely get the core idea. Play around with it and see what works for you :3

So the tiles I've circled with red here I'd only use flowers on. The ones inside the green area is where I would pick one or two tiles for a butterfly model and put flowers in the rest, and the orange tiles toward the back is like a maybe space for a model but would probably look better just as flowers

personally i would say yes. when i started anch my primary concern was that i should never have 2 south facing river mouths but now that i am on my fifth island, i realized that's not really a big deal once you're able to terraform.

what matters (for me) is to make sure your resident services is as far as it can be from the airport because designing close ones are really hard & this layout seems like resident services has a pretty good distance from the airport

guys i need help.. i'm trying to fill this spot, and at the moment the only thing that feels right to me in this area is the benches, the street lamps, the cedar tree, and the wooden pathways. has anyone have an idea on what should i use to replace the spots taken by the hedges? i've been struggling filling this area because it's a weird 6x3 location, and it is across the road, able sisters, and purrl's house so i'm trying to make sure this area is perfectly filled with something that balances those three without looking out of place.

I worked all evening on this little magic rock and mushroom circle. My goal is to have my island be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing, so the rocks are able to be mined, and the decor around them acts like fences to prevent bounce back. I'm not great at designing island layouts, but I think making Fang's house look more like a beach-house would be quite nice, since he's so close to the beach. Also, I think making the river bed a fishing area would be nice, a couple of camping chairs, fishing rods, obviously, a bucket, etc. I'm sure you could pull this off better than I ever could . As for terraforming, I honestly think you should leave the river bed as-is, but do what you please, I'm quite mediocre at this type of stuff. Instead of terraforming, I think adding something, like a fence or maybe some decor would be lovely.

If there's one skill I can depend on, it's terraforming circles with minimal planning

When I terraform, There are 2 things I do before:

1: screenshot ur map and draw the area you want how big, how small the shape.

2: use pathing to build the outline and fill it, the paths won't be seen as long as you fill in the lines

It can take a while depending on how built up your island is. If you have lots of paths or trees and flowers it can be a long process. Trash cans and time jumping will be your best friend

I’ve seen some really cool ideas but some of it depends on what your theme is! I’ve seen a nasa themed spot, dig site for fossils, information on what’s in the museum, a cool little courtyard, and on my kidcore Island I did a bus from custom designs and added gyroids and kerropi snacks to make it look like a school field trip! 💕
