If you're doing it on paper of wood, a little water and a bit more paint will make it so that the paint dosen't bend the paper or make it soggy when it drys.

Tracing is good when you learn. Tracing can be really really good when you're learning (as long as you're tracing well and learning the shape). Selling anything you traced is bad, because it isnt original.

well its definitely not how you would advise but ik for a fact that i started off tracing and it helped me develop a style and technique of my own. i grew out of it, but i would not discredit it by any means and by putting others down for doing art how THEY WANT to do it is ridiculous and completely against what art is. you are completely out of line in saying that no effort is needed just because you dont see it as beneficial
