As a player that started with new leaf, new horizons having golden tools break is frustrating. There is actually a glitch that if you customize a tool from Nooks Cranny like the colorful tools, it resets the durability and will prevent those tools from breaking. It's unfortunate that I'd rather do that than actually bother to use golden tools
