Hello everyone,

Me and my friends have played around 1,000 hours of Throne and Liberty, and we’re looking to switch to a new MMO due to burnout. Black Desert Console caught our eye, and I have a few questions before we dive in. I’d really appreciate any insights you can provide:

  1. How does the gear enhancement system work?  Is there any risk of losing gear or downgrading it during enhancement?
  2. What’s the state of endgame content?  Is it mostly PvP-focused or is there meaningful PvE endgame too?
  3. How populated are the console servers compared to PC? (What is the most populated server?)  Is finding groups or active guilds an issue?
  4. How toxic is the community?  We’re coming from Throne and Liberty, which can be quite toxic—how does BDO compare?
  5. Is it friendly to new players or returning MMO players?  How hard is it to catch up to the current meta?
  6. How does the game feel performance-wise on console (PS5/Xbox Series)?  Any issues with frame drops, long loading screens, or UI clunkiness? 7. Are there any pay-to-win concerns?  We’re okay with cosmetics and convenience, but not stat advantages.

  1. Yes Gear can downgrade and Accessoires can get destroyed if it fails.
U can save it with n Item (Crons Stones) that it doesnt.
With the Crons Gear like Armor and weapons dont downgrade at all. Accessoires have a chance to downgrade if they are Green, Blues, Yellow grade.
If its Purple (Kharazad) they dont downgrade if u use Crons.

  2. The Game dont really have endgame like other mmos.
U can do PvP at the end yh.
U can have GvG's if U in a PvP Guild. Than every day its 1h NodeWar, that is Guilds fighting for a Node. U get Money, rewards and Buffs for it.
Sat is SW, there Guilds fight for a Castle.
U get Money rewards and a Castle buff for dif Areas

PvE u just have different grind Spots.
U need more Gear for later Spots.
We have Dungeons, but its not like in other Games, that u can Grind Gear there.
We get rewards 1x per week there on 2 dif Chars.
We dont have Raids/Trials like other Games.

Than U can do lifeskills (jobs in other Games) like gathering, Fishing, hunting, Horse catching, Barterting

  1. On PC are more ppl playing, but ppl coming back to the console Version after we got the PS5/XS Upgrade.

Pc has still more stuff them we have, but pa said they trying to catch up as fast as possible to the pc Version

  1. It can be toxic like everywere online.
But U can block ppl, so U cant read what they are talking. Idk how it is on the NA Server, but on EU its not that toxic. Just some strange ppl

  2. At the beginning its alot and u need help to understand everything.
Since 1 or 2 years they give Items so ppl can Catch up, but u will always be behind if u do Breaks

  3. We still have some frame drops and stutter, even with the Upgrade, but they working on it.
UI is fine, we dont have all the options that PC has. I hope we will get more in the Future.

  4. Its not really p2w. U can buy Outfits to sell them on the Central Market or melt them for Crons, but U cant buy upgrade direct from the real Money Shop.

U can buy pets, maids and weight for the grind so u dont have to spot and bring ur stuff away.

But u can get Most of the stuff from the Central Market and dont have to pay real Money for it.

Or u can get stuff aswell from rewards, like login/events or from Quests

The Game still have bugs, for some ppl more than for others. Some ppl have alot of bugs and other just a few or any.

At the beginning u should look for a Guild that helps Beginner. U can always leave a Guild and join a new Guild after 24h. So if U need a PvP Guild later U dont have to join it at the Start.

For Future content we still miss if its about PvP.
There will be a 3v3 mode with fixed Gear, so skill is what makes u good and not the Gear.
And everyone can do PvP than, even if they dont have the best Gear.

Hope it helps a lil bit
