Help me with the problem activating mods in Gates of Hell

I don't know if this is just me but I can't find anyone who has this problem that I have, when I go to activate the mod in Gates of Hell and when I apply the mod, it simply close it from the game and

[tardy valve]

Mods are always hit and miss with GFN. If it crashes with any mods in this specific game then it simply means modding isn't supported.
